So...it seems Influence is back! I just wonder if it can be purchased from that guy in Skyhold again.
This time, instead of Diplomacy, Espionage, and Military, we have Merchants, Scientists, and, uhm, Military!
Based on the exploration video, one of the perks under the Merchants tree is to have a supply of credits arrive every so often. Sounds nice, very AC2 to check your vault.
I only wish though that it's possible to max out all perks and wake everyone up. It kinda doesn't make sense to leave people in cryo stasis -- we should find a way to free everyone, ayt? I have a feeling some of the perks are kinda crap...so were they in Inquisition (Hello, Leliana! Got more Elfroot for me?), so I hope there's a nice way to balance these perks early on for a good advantage but eventually get all needed perks to level up.
Thoughts?

Good, I enjoyed that feature in DA:I! +1. I enjoyed how it could effect what you'd be remembered for at the end of the game too.

Me too! Though in all my playthroughs, I would always go for the Knowledge perks first automatically. And then find a way to unlock Deft Hands. Which is hard because there really was very little of value in Leliana's tree so I'd have to wait for some agents. Then extra XP from research materials, from killing beasts, extra 10% defence, and then Josephine's three perks that unlock the vault, then Josie's perks that have merchants offer exclusive goods (to get T3 schematics)....and then finally extra focus.
Screw Cullen's horsemanship perks

I bet you can max them all... for DAI, there was no real end goal to the system, you just kept gaining power. Here you have to wake up colonists, and at some point you want to wake them all up, I guess.

I found the war table rewards though i did them often were not worth much. Get 6 onyx for doing a mission? I can walk in that map for 5 minutes and get 20 onyx.

Plus it does make more sense. You *need* to wake everyone up. That's kind of the point of being the Pathfinder. Finding worlds for people to live. If some hundred people have to stay in cryo...that's gotta suck.
It didn't make sense in Inquisition. "Oh Leliana, can you teach me to cut more herbs?" "No. Go build more camps"

I don't believe that it was possible to get all DAI perks, though you could certainly get all of the useful ones.

Doesn't make sense to me that you choose which type of people to wake up. You can't have one colony full of only traders and one colony full of only scientists and so on.

Well, the people you'd have to wake up to make any colony work wouldn't warrant a decision, right? That would just be automatic.

Cool. These were good features in DAI. I was more ambivalent towards the War Table, which doesn't seem to have an equivalent here.

I didn't really mind the mechanic in DAI, I just thought it could have been done much better...and hopefully it is for MEA. More meaningful impact and better rewards would be a good start.

There would also be training time involved for the Inquisitor to learn Optimal Cutting, Advanced Focus, or whatever. The Inquisitor wouldn't be able to learn everything the minute she stepped into Skyhold. Though Influence is a lousy proxy for time. Many of the perks do depend on other people, though these are generally bad perks.
