Heya. Just wondering if anyone heard about at least for PC, if they are finally going to remove or at least add options to not have space bar does everything? Most mind boggling annoying mechanic I've had to do in a long time. It has a lot to compete with too. Was the reason for so many needless deaths hours of frustration (total). I know it's probably a moot point to most, but for me despite my opinion on the rest of the game I've seen so far matters the most to me

I'm not sure how they can avoid it, anyway the IGN gameplay videos seem to show that the "Y" button does everything so I wouldn't be surprised if that's spacebar for Keyboard again.

Also, at least with an Xbox controller, B is dodge, and A is probably going to be jump, so it seems like they removed it.

The Y button doesn't seem to be used for jump or dodge and there is no button for cover, so I would be VERY surprised if these things were all mapped to the same button on PC. Anyway, the equivalent 'do everything' button on an Xbox controller in the trilogy was A, not Y (i.e. X, not triangle, on PS3).

Yeah, spacebar did interact, cover, jump (leap over objects), sprint. More often then not when you just wanted to sprint you would get locked to a wall for cover. :| But thanks for the reply guys!

Every time I replay ME1, I remap the controls to be more like ME2 and 3. A bunch of functions one one button isn't an issue for me since I'm aware of the context at all times. It's generally only an issue for me when collision boxes are too wide and I end up in cover after clipping a wall mid-sprint, but all games have little things like that, so I never cared much.

Most discrete game functions are now separated from each other and individually mappable on PC. And the lack of a cover button dramatically improved this problem even with a controller.

Glad to hear that. Keyboard mappings in ME (the first episode) were much more practical. That "almighty" space bar in ME3 (and in ME2 too) was very frustrating.

I know it's probably a moot point to most, but for me despite my opinion on the rest of the game I've seen so far matters the most to me I hope this is fixed (I died a lot because of that shit...)! I also want (I could say: "I demand!") damned shortcuts (we have the buttons on the keyboard, so don't give us console style menus and don't make us use wheels and stuff when a shortcut would work just as well (profile-switching for example! We don't need that clunky console wheel, we need a shortcut IMHO!)) But I don't think they will listen Note: It could be that using menus etc. is a respite in hot fights (just like pausing was in ME1-3...not that it's as useful, you can't aim or use powers during it sadly and the companion commanding is gone, too (you can only assign targets and cover, but not make them use certain abilities etc...maybe I shouldn't skill certain abilities with them, that way they can't use them? I hope we can reset companion powers - sorry Cora, your charge is MINE now, you will not do that crazy shit that probably leads to you taking lots of time-outs or combat naps in the dirt, same for your damned havoc strike Liam...also: All your close quarter guns are mine, too...have to work around Bioware's system and that's the only way I see to make the game give me what I want: Ranged companions, not "thousands" of close quarter fighters...damned, I don't want charge in and die companions!), but I will believe that when I see it greetings LAX

Cover is dynamic now (aka, automatic), so no button there. Jump & sprint are also bound separately according to some of the people who participated in the GameChangers play-test. I'm not sure about the dodge/dash though--that might also share the same button as sprint (i.e. tap to dodge/dash, hold to sprint).
