This guys take on Manveer Heir

Racism is stupid. I'll judge a person by their number of Likes, not the color of their skin.

I don't understand the hatred for Manveer.

Do understand that I am a POC, an immigrant, a gender minority, living in Canada. To pretend that racism doesn't exist, to pretend that white superiority doesn't exist, to pretend that systematized racism doesn't exist -- is PRIVILEGE. We have been marginalized, denied jobs, been discriminated in the workplace, been discriminated at bars, be freaking discriminated in the metro because of the color of our skin.

What Manveer is doing is NOT racism. It is protest. It is reclaiming power that has been lost. To simply say, oh what if it were a white guy talking trash about a POC is a faulty analogy. A white guy talking trash about POC is simply exercising his racial dominance and his superiority, challenging no new issues but simply reasserting what is happening. That paradigm does not exist in what Manveer is doing -- it is the opposite as he is the minority.

This kind of dialogue can be present in MRA, Manninists, Heterophoboes, Straight Pride, etc. It simply does not exist unless you have marginalized historically and personally.

Perfect example of how these things snowball into shitstorms.  Two wrongs make a right, and the guy is now a hero to someone.

I think Manveer is their secret Marketing spice. They created a controversial persona to get people talking and even non-fans will look over to see what this "racist game designer of a huge game release!" is about and voila, new fans.

Racism is a joke when you think about it.

It's so stupid and illogical to hate a human being because of their skin color that it's just remarkable how serious people are about it.

Racist jokes make fun of racism. I don't get why people knock others for making those jokes.

I could probably get behind the idea of racism only counting if included "power punching downward", if this perceived "power" were an actual measurable metric.

When does it become not ok to spew hatred towards white people, who is the arbiter of denouncing this type of behavior in any type of socially "official" capacity? It's my opinion that judging and hating on people because of race, gender, or class is nothing more than hateful othering that itself should be denounced.

As far as Manveer himself goes, he seems like a dick. I'm still going to play mass effect, I'll just also keep saying the same damn thing every time this topic rolls around.

I'm counting down to it right now.
