One thing to consider, if you are going to get a PC anyway, is that more and more games, when purchased through the Microsoft store, can be played on both your console and your PC, so you wouldn't need a new save on your PC or to rebuy the game at a later date. Upon further research it looks like MEA will not initially be part of that program.... but other games will be, so maybe that would affect your decision? Also if you get the Xbone with the new bluetooth controller (I can't remember if that is just with the One S now or what) then you can use that seamlessly with your new PC when you get that as well.

The safe bet would be Xbox. Frostbite games running on 1080P for the PS4 have had bigger frame-rate and performance issues than at 900p on the xbox. Sony likes to pretend that the PS4 is significantly more powerful than the xbox one. It is marginally more powerful. I also think that the xbox controller is in every way superior to the PS4 controller but I don't have children's hands so the smallness of the PS4 controller definitely affects my decision there. You really should always go with where your friends are playing, if you don't play with people then pick the exclusives you like. Xbox does also have a more stable network with reliable party chat options and far superior mic quality.

He actually didn't like the 360 controller, said the cave near the battery pack cramped his hands. The PS4 controller is definitely NOT for little kids though.

I think anyone claiming the PS4 is for little kids just hasn't played with it for any length of time. I have pretty big hands for someone my size and to me the PS4 controller is perfect. I haven't played with the Xbox one controller that much but it doesn't feel bad too me just a bit smaller than I'd like.

Honestly the Xbox's analog sticks trigger me a little, but I understand why some people prefer it that way. They made it further apart on the PS4, with the PS3 it was pretty easy for your thumbs to hit.

I always liked PS controllers for fighting and driving games and nothing else. Xbox has always been the better "shooter" controller to me.

No question the 360 was the better controller for shooters because the PS3 triggers where trash. But they really fixed that with the PS4. I can't even go back to the PS3 controller now the PS4 controller has spoiled me.

PS4 Pro if you have a 4k tv. Regular PS4 in the other case. The PS4 version has better resolution.

Really? I have a 6'4" friend with huge hands and he says he likes the PS4 controller better. He actually didn't like the 360 controller, said the cave near the battery pack cramped his hands. The PS4 controller is definitely NOT for little kids though. I am 6'4 with big hands and I prefer the PS4 controller to the Xbox. But it is all just a matter of perspective. To make claims like it's for kids is just silly and petty. Kind of funny, I'm 5'1 with very small hands/short fingers and I prefer the Xbox One controller; my hands always cramp on the PS4 controller faster, though it's a big improvement over the PS3. Xbox Ones analog stick tops are too small for my short thumbs, though. I had to get an adapter to make them bigger - my thumbs were aching after short play periods. Then again, I have tendonitis in my right wrist/elbow, so I'm sure that's a factor. @op As you can see, pretty split across the board. Really comes down to what features are more important to you. I have both an Xbox One and a PS4, and personally I prefer the XB1 for the controller/interface. I don't play MP so those details are moot. I have the PS4 for exclusives, and frankly I rarely notice the graphical differences on the games I play - but, in my experience, the PS4 is more stable. Crashes are rare on both, but I've had a noticeable amount on the Xbox while I don't think the PS4's ever crashed on me while gaming.

I'm on PS4 Pro. It makes a difference not only in visuals, but also in performance. Rise of the Tomb Raider for example has three different modes: Performance (which makes the game run at 60 fps), 4K mode, and Enhanced Visuals mode (which makes everything sharper). Curious if Andromeda will have any options like that on the Pro.

So far every game I have played that was built with PS4 Pro in mind (FFXV and Horizon Zero Dawn) had at least 2 modes, so I'm kinda expecting ME:A to have at least that. But I don't know anything official about it.

I would say if there are any console exclusive games you like such as The Last of Us or the Uncharted series, then PS4 is the way to go...Or if you're a Halo nerd X-bone. I've got both and I don't really find any noticeable differences with the look or the way the controllers handle. I would go with the next gen of either though...and if you play a lot of games select a version with a larger HD. I didn't and every time I get a new game to load up, I have to delete an older one to make room.
