So from the final briefing we've finally got confirmation that the quarians are coming with us to Andromeda! More interesting, however, is the text from this point in the briefing. It tells us that a group of quarian explorers found a "telescope" built by the Geth using 3 Mass Relays, which was being used to observe something beyond the Galaxy's edge, in dark space. I think we can assume that the Geth were looking out for the Reapers. However, the Geth were also looking at the Heleus Cluster, which is where the Andromeda Initiative got all its data on the habitable worlds. So, confirmation that the quarians are in Andromeda and the revelation that all of this was dependent on the Geth's work... is anyone thinking now there may be a chance that the Geth also made a trip to Andromeda before we did? Do you think they might pop up in a future DLC (or maybe even the base game)?

I don't have an opinion as to Geth presence; but the telescope info is interesting for sure. Hopefully there's a backstory to it.

I hope they do. They are arguably my favorite race in the franchise. I know Bioware confirmed they aren't in the base game ( ) but maybe they will show up in a DLC. That whole thing about them using Geth data fills me with a bit of hope. The Geth don't do anything without a reason, it's just a question of what that reason is.

This new info has given me even more confidence.

I've yet to see any convincing arguments why they should. Or why, if they did come to Andromeda, they'd come to the same cluster as us... out of trillions. They don't need life sustaining worlds, minerals perhaps, but not life sustaining (in the organic sense) worlds. If they were smart they'd find some cluster full of nothing but lifeless mineral farm worlds where they have little-to-no risk of running into other sentient life to live in peace. Interacting with the Milky Way organics is just asking for trouble, and they know it.
I'm bored of the whole "do synthetics have a soul?" philosophical exploration. It was done to death in the original trilogy. So I really hope no more Geth.

Considering that the data the Initiative is using comes from a Geth telescope, if anything I'd say we went to the same cluster as them rather than the other way around.

Not in this game according to what devs said, but that would be a reasonable way to explain their presence there either via DLC or next game.

On the positive side, at least any geth we see will be the more interesting Original Recipe geth, rather than what was left after ME3 finished with them.
