Is Ryder Wearing Shoes Instead of Combat Boots?

Hi everyone, first post...

I am pretty sure it's a layered armor system (similar to fallout 4).
What you see in Ryder's calf is the full body basic under armor suit, just like the vault jumpsuit in fallout 4.

You can see it clearly at the end of the video when she wakes up, those black areas at her shoulders is where the add on armor pieces lock on.

The thing I've taken away from those 2 pictures is we have shoe/boot options. Yeah it's a bit weird both options don't have any ankle support but doesn't bother me to much. Least all of those example involve a full body suit that the shoes are going on top of instead of them wearing like shorts or something.

As far as swapping armor/boots depending on environment yeah. Here's hoping we have a good idea what we're going into planet wise and can actually change outfit prior to heading down. Though knowing me I'll end up just having my self outfitted the same way regardless of where I'm going. But then I'd also be using whatever boot I like the loot of most.

Looks like it gives flexibility to the ankle. Better for climbing and running obviously.

Maybe they're combat shoes instead of combat boots? And our space exploration suit thing has micro stabilizers in the ankles and other weaker areas or areas needing reinforcement. Not sure though, I always saw the armor systems as like exo suits with a base layer of new age tech fabric and other functions. Kinda like the Quarians suits maybe? My thechnical info about the Mass Effect armors is spotty at best.

Would need some kind of system to pee into that would eject it from the suit somehow for long missions in outerspace. Could freeze it and eject it onto the ground or something.

Errr... The picture from the ride is incorrect. Because in the actual games, FemShep never wears heels other than that horrible monstrosity of a casual outfit in ME3 and it's comparably better ME2 version. Or was it the other way around? I can never tell...
