We're gonna be exploring the natives' reaction to mass accelerator rounds, lasers, explosives, flamethrowers and incineration, electrocution, flash freezing, space magic, blunt force trauma, as well as being stabbed, hacked apart and bludgeoned to death.

During exploration of the new world and africa in our history many explorers often fought wildlife, natives, and other Europeans in the name of exploration and colonization. So yes I see it as a realistic setting for the two styles of gameplay to compliment each other.
