I'm still farting around in Bronze and Silver games trying to relearn my game skills. I had been soloing the games, but in order to speed things up (so I thought) I started leaving them open for others to join.
I'm a scrub, I know that, I embrace that. But my God, I am a ME3 Savant compared to these idiots.
We have a nice little set up in place, a nice protective bubble set up, good sight lines and everything is getting mowed down as they come to us. But no, you need to play Rambo, run to the other side of the map alone, try to shoot everything in the face and die in 10 seconds. And then get the other idiots killed as they go try to revive you. And is everyone's "7" key broken? I'm not going to run into a banshee and a brute with two ravagers shooting to try and revive everyone.
I keep getting the lone survivor medal because I have to clear out the evac area where you drew everything on the map. On freaking Bronze.
I should play more Gold, the one game I did play was full extract, everyone seemed to have a decent idea of what to do.
Side note, I went and promoted all my characters to force me to rethink their builds and take on the character builds after planning and consideration. It's working out much better as I focus on just a handful and get better with the concepts. I feel like I can finally play a justicar, and after years I'm learning how to snipe with a Salarian.

I should play more Gold, the one game I did play was full extract, everyone seemed to have a decent idea of what to do. It's working out much better as I focus on just a handful and get better with the concepts. I feel like I can finally play a justicar, and after years I'm learning how to snipe with a Salarian. People probably just trying this out or picking it up again after a long break before Andromeda comes out. When someone is dead, the first instinct is of course to revive; it takes discipline to look around first to see if there are Banshees or Ravagers somewhere where you cannot see them shooting. It's just a nice thing to do, to try to revive someone, no? I ran out of medigels all the time when playing ME3MP, and simply did not use them on Bronze, because the idea is to build up those 33K credits to get a stack of medi gels for the Silver games. Very often, I found that I fall into spending all the earned credits getting medigels endlessly, and never having enough to get the weapon upgrade packs, because medi gels/shields boosts go faster than credits accumulate. I seriously, was starting to "heal with Missiles", because I had tons of missiles, but greeted my every medi-gel by name. Oh, look, Sandra's gone now... Barb, you are next, then we are screwed. It is actually quite hard to keep unlocking weapons (not to mention mods) past your second tier if you play Bronze and Silver. Unless you advance, you stagnate on spending all your earnings on supplies. And if you are not ready for Gold/don't like its difficulty level, you just get stuck on Manifest progression. Sometimes folks get errors in judgment and just want to go kill things when others seem to have the rest under control, or, maybe, you know, feel a little bit useful when everyone else is geared to the teeth, and you can't seem to get a single damage number in, so you, like... just watching. And, well, I said it before, I will say it again, BioWARE's prompt to EVAC is a terrible one. If I did not watch the guide before starting to play, I'd have never-ever guessed that when the game tells me to "go EVAC!" what it means is 'spread out, and avoid going to the EVAC" zone. I would have assumed that holding the EVAC zone is normal and expected last high difficulty stand, because of the game's prompt. They COMMAND me to do that. They should have used a different way to express it, as right now it is completely unintuitive and only from other players you learn that it is NOT what you are supposed to do. if you CAn, by all means, advance, but bitching at the folks who obviously play at the appropriate difficulty level for them... because let's face it, Bronze is absolutely the place where you gotta be if you do the obvious goofs, is not exactly fair.

Well the game is a bit more complicated than your average MP game and lot's of people simply seem to have a hard time understanding how things work even with plenty of experience.
Some pugs despite having logged an outrageous amount of time on the game barely seem to grasp the basics.
ME3 is not unique in anyway though, you'll find similar levels of stupidity in all multiplayer games, but regardless of how angry you get, always remember that PUGs are people to!

Domi - I hear you on the manifest issue. I hope they make it less severe to grind to enough credits to unlock things in Andromeda. Gold and Platinum can be terribly stressful, especially with a group of people who don't know each other, but Bronze and Silver don't yield enough credits.

Completely different than my experiences with pugging in the last year.
I don't play often, but when I do and quick search I normally land in a lobby with multiple competent players now. Unlike a few years ago, where there seemed to be much worse on average.

Pugs are generally not good team players, you need to play with friends in order to get back into it correctly. I'm a scrub too, I'll always be one but I can still feel a lot of difference between when I play with friends or with pugs. Pugs are usually score whores, while friends are willing to be there with you, having your back and having patience with you at the same time.

Pugs are usually score whores No, they're not. They play like score whores and fail at it. Not to say there aren't any successful score-whoring pugs, but they usually have a Reegar, warp+incendiary or grenade spam in tow.

There are a number of factors you can check for in the lobby before the game starts, and make a determination on who is/isn't worth reviving. Things like:
-Do they have Equipment? No = No revive. -Do they have a Piercing Adas? Yes = No revive. -Do they have a Best of the Best banner? Yes = No revive. -Do they have an N7 Fury with a PPR and a Black Widow? Yes = No revive. -Do they have an absurdedly high amount of Challenge Points? Yes = No revive. -Do they have an absurdedly low amount of Challenge Points in relation to their N7 Rank? Yes = No revive. -Do they never shut up? Yes = No revive. -Are they playing music from their smartphone over the ingame voice chat? Yes = No revive. -Did they tell you to go play a lower difficulty? Yes = No revive. -Are they a GI? Yes = No revive. -Are they an Incendiary Reegar AIU? Yes = No revive. -Are they a Harrier TGI? Yes = No revive. -Are they a melee-spec Juggernaut? Yes = No revive.
You can add to this list as you see fit.
Anyone in the lobby who doesn't meet any of the list criteria, stay close to them and revive if possible. Even if they are running all over the map, it's pretty certain they know what they are doing, will make the match go much more quickly/smoothly, and if they do happen to go down you will be there to help them help you.

I'd be cautious about the first two in pugs. FQI with Javelin is fine 100%. But Infidrells usually only spam recon mines making it impossible to play and well, Venom means a lot of screen shake, so depends on play style and map.

I promise next time we'll play I am going to bring my Venom... I totally agree it depends on the play style and map. But I usually find Infiltrators more useful than not.

I'll drop my two cents here.
I very rarely happen to land into bad pugs. Even newbies try to contribute as best as they can. For example today, with Docsteely, we managed to do pug gold under 16 mins!
Also - this is typical PUG song:
