There's always the Wraith if you're not good enough to survive with Claymore. There's always the Reegar if you're not good enough to survive with Wraith.

Even with a Claymore 10 and Weapon Weight, that's a pretty long cooldown on Charge with such a flimsy character. I guess what I'm saying is, Pull isn't a very useful power, even if you're running around with an Acolyte. It does nothing against armour. For me it's Incendiary Claymore, no Pull, Charge 6A, Adrenaline mod III. Charge>Shoot in face>Nade if needed. He's so fast enemies have a hard time tracking if you strafe a lot so he isn't as flimsy as he seems to be. Could always throw a Raider on him too. His biggest issue is Geth stagger in my experience.

Yeah, that's pretty much the way I play him, except for the Claymore. It does sound like it could work. And what do you mean "A", is that "above"? I prefer the shield recharge on Charge in any case. I can hardly ever play Vanguards though, it's a shame. My connection is too laggy to host, and off-host is terrible with Charge.

I put at least 3 ranks in it for any kit that has the ability. Take passive 4b and 5b. You can charge often enough... He is a Drell, not a Krogan; you shouldn't be charging every enemy you see. 30% headshot passive means, if you can aim, Claymore will kill what you shoot at. Soft cover, aim, and dodge, that is how you Drell. Meh, you should be charging almost every enemy you see. Primed instakill is about the only exception. Split your double primes and you can charge a single one pretty safely if you're a decent player. You're must prioritize the turrets thigh and understand his animation for putting them out.

Charging all the things off-host with a Drell is a suicide recipe. I could see that. I'll play him off host on a solid connection and usually pick my spots against instakill enemies. You can charge anything not primed usually fairly safely though. Banshees that are warping of course you're not going to charge and praetorians can be quick but anything else it doesn't matter as long as you position them properly. Atlases I'll charge when I have RHA close. A single prime who gives a fuck I'll charge them in the open field and dodge their siege pulses with just lateral movement. Phantoms you have to watch out for a cluster of them but a single one isn't a problem.

Meh, you should be charging almost every enemy you see. Primed instakill is about the only exception. Primed instakill? I'm confused. Like a Banshee or something? What do you mean exactly by primed? As in, biotically primed by Reave/Dark Channel/Warp? Or do you mean they're ready to instakill or something? How can you tell? I thought they could always do that. Split your double primes and you can charge a single one pretty safely if you're a decent player. So many instances of the word 'prime', lol. Double primes? Do you mean like, a pair of Geth primes or something? Split? You mean separate them? How do you do that? I'm so confused now lol.

The first instance of "Primed Instakill" means an enemy that is ready to deliver a sync (instakill). All sync kill enemies except the banshee are only ready (primed) to sync once they have performed (or performed and cancelled) their basic melee animation. Banshees can sync at any point duing their teleporting phase. The teleporting phase is accompanied by energy surrounding the banshee, but graphical glitches can make this tricky. If she's standing still throwing warp balls, then the's safe to charge. The second instance he's referring to geth primes. When two geth primes spawn next to eachother, he recommends not charging until you split them up.

To be fair, a banshee will throw up a protective bubble when standing still if a power is used against her. This bubble disappears when she does her area of attack. If you want the charge to do damage, you should try to lure her AoE attack by toeing the radius (or wait for a teammate to do it).

She only does the Denial Bubble with Projectile Powers, such as Warp, Throw, Concussive Shot, Grenades, etc. Hitscan Powers don't cause this, so things like Dark Channel, Overload, etc, will not cause the Denial Bubble! This is useful! Bait her into doing her Nova by getting close to her, or putting a Drone/Decoy/Turant in front of her, and your Projectile Powers can be used while she's busy Novaing (everyone knows this part). But then if you have a Hitscan Power, you can use it whenever you want.

Yep. As an engineer I'll use a turret or drone to lure the "Nova" so I can either prime or detonate a primed banshee.
HFE - combat drone, banshee "nova", incinerate, overload.
FQE + ammo power - turret, shot, banshee "nova", incinerate to detonate ammo power. There's enough time to squeeze a cryo blast in too.
Biotics have more options, but have to do some dancing to prime AoE. Of course reave works wonders as a detonator.

Well, what I -did- know, is that when she's blocking powers, she's more vulnerable to weapon damage. At least, that's what I've been told. I'm not even sure it's correct. So when she's blocking powers I just keep shooting her, which seems to work.
Hitscan powers, that's the first time I hear that term. I'm not even sure why it's called that. Anyway, still vulnerable to non-projectile powers, noted. =) So Dark Channel, Reave, Overload, Energy Drain, um..... what else? Sabotage?

Hitscan can be said of certain powers, as well as certain guns. For example, the Cerberus Harrier is a hitscan weapon. You point, click, and the damage is calculated instantly, because there is no projectile. Whereas a gun like the Scorpion, or the Krysae, is a projectile weapon, because it fires a projectile that has a travel time (albiet a fast one). Incidentally, Piercing doesn't work on the Projectile Weapons. Like the Adas for example. Piercing only works on Hitscan Weapons.

Though it's some kind of energy weapon.

There is nothing in this game that can do the level of damage it can and that is NOT a good thing. You will never find a BSNer using it as it is shameful to do so. I imagine it will be fixed in ME:A, and most BSNers will not use it simply out of spite for it's ubiquitous use by pugs in ME3MP.

Yeah, you only bring the Reegar to a team game for "winning" the scoreboard in an easy and lazy way and are to bad for doing it any other way. That's why I love the larger maps for team games, where the mediocre try hard AIUs usually fail miserably and start their desperate nuke spam to avoid ending up last.

Even with a Claymore 10 and Weapon Weight, that's a pretty long cooldown on Charge with such a flimsy character. I guess what I'm saying is, Pull isn't a very useful power, even if you're running around with an Acolyte. It does nothing against armour. Drell walks faster than half the other characters run, and runs like people can only see his afterimage. Most of the time it's shoot and throw grenades and shoot for him. Since he's so fast, very few enemies can catch up before he finishes his job and run away. Even if they manage to deplete his shield, he can charge (and again, and again and again again w/ Bonus Power evo), beat them and escape. Flimsiness is no problem when nothing can hit you.

Yeah well, this whole discussion started when I said you almost have to use grenades on certain kits, like the Drell Vanguard, because Pull in my opinion has very limited use. Then someone else said you need to play him with a Claymore, and then I said you won't be able to charge enough to keep him alive, etc. So typically, I go for ultra fast cooldown, and grenades, but maybe he's fun to play with a Claymore, I don't know. I'll give it a try. Why not.
