Okay, sorry if this is a silly question, but I haven't played ME3MP in ages, and I jumped back in only a couple of days ago.
Please refresh my memory.
Let's say I'm playing the AIU, and I went for shotgun damage on cloak instead of bonus power. If I'm cloaked, and I throw a Snap Freeze, do I still get the damage bonus for my shotgun, or do I have to shoot from cloak without throwing my power first?
Or does it depend on the character kit?
For example if you're playing the Turian Ghost, can you cloak, overload and still get the AR damage bonus because the bonus lasts 10 seconds?
How does it work in general, and is there a difference between kits? I just really can't remember.

Damage bonus lasts for a while after cloak breaks. I believe it is about 1 second to break cloak and 1.5 after.

Ok, in general, cloak damage bonus last 2.5 seconds. (Thanks to Alfonsedode we still got Pedro's numerical test around.) Cloak brakes one second after you use power and the damage bonus lasts for further 1.5 second, so even when already decloaked. Assuming you took TC 4B (you did, right? ) you get 80% boost to your weapon (and power) damage for 2.5s. TGI TC 6B is bit different, in that it lasts for 20 seconds, gives 1.2 multiplier to AR damage. AIU TC 6B is 1.25 multiplier to SG damage, but tied to TC bonus duration, e.g. 2.5 sec.

I found two sources telling different things: a) peddroelm on bsn crashsuit on reddit4th: consider using her as melee infiltrator and give zero hoots about the bug and remember: there ARE other shotguns than Reegar (Believe me!) you can use with AIU.

Okay, thanks everyone for the replies. =) 1st: of course you choose shotgun damage! IKR, duh. 3rd: damage calculation on AIU is (NOT!) a WorkingAsIntended TM-kind of thing. I found two sources telling different things: a) peddroelm on bsn crashsuit on redditHm, okay. Confusing! I guess the bottom line is, it should work, but it may not. 4th: consider using her as melee infiltrator and give zero hoots about the bug My favourite melee infiltrator is the Asari Huntress, actually. But I'll give it a shot with the AIU, why the hell not. =) and remember: there ARE other shotguns than Reegar (Believe me!) you can use with AIU. Oh I know, I actually prefer the Claymore on her (reload cancel tactic), or the Crusader. I also really like the Raider.

Optimal is going to be tact cloak, claymore shot, snap cheese, claymore shot. If you can get that cycle down

Everyone hates Snap Cheeze, even me, and I love it. That's part of why no one will want to play with you.
The other part is, if you are good, the AIU is a scorewhore kit like few others. Annoyingly so, for those of the BSN that can't cope.
Crusader is my favorite choice for her. Omniblade and shredder mod, because I don't like negative CDs.

Annoyingly so, for those of the BSN that can't cope. Crusader is my favorite choice for her. Omniblade and shredder mod, because I don't like negative CDs. I think Snap Freeze is awesome, because you can get all the cryo explosions going, with the right team. I don't see the problem with it. I was playing a Turian Sentinel with two N7 paladins earlier, and it was like techburst city. I love it. As for scorewhoring, I really don't get this. I never play to score more points than other players. All I care about is having fun and finishing the mission so I can get my credits. I simply play a character kit because it is fun, not to "dominate" a lobby or something, that's just immature to me. The only thing that really matters is being a team player, IMO. I like to play a Turian Ghost with a Saber AR. I love it, it's tons of fun. I don't do it to steal anyone's glory. And just as much I like playing a Volus Engineer, just gunning everything down with a Lancer and keeping everyone alive with Shield Boost. I don't even use the Recon Mine. If anyone has a problem with me having fun, get the fuck over yourself. That's just petty. In fact I actually like to play pretty much all the kits. I change them up all the time. There's only a few that I hardly ever play, OTOH: Turian Havoc and Turian Saboteur. I play all the others. Sure, you play some more than others, but that goes without saying.

No one will want to play with you. Happy to answer your question. lol why actually? Both kits are unbalanced and therefore are a magnet for scrubs. -Tactical cloak is the most selfish power in the game, dumping aggro on your teammates for a damage boost. -Stim Pack and Repair Matrix make these kits tougher than they should be. -Assault Rifles and Shotguns have no hipfire penalty, like Sniper rifles, which at least somewhat balances TC. -Snap freeze (along with flamer and recon mine) make it difficult for teammates to see enemies, making the AIU worse than the TGI, imo. Snap freeze overrides other powers on primed targets, and is glitched to allow for cryo explosions on armored targets. If you find "dominating a lobby" to be immature, then it is a power to be avoided. Heck, both these kits should be avoided for that same reason. Since these kits are unbalanced, you'll find a lot of people using them thinking they're better than they actually are, which poses problems in a team game. Qui-Gon GlenN7 is right though. These kits in the right hands can make higher difficulties trivial. Now I don't mind being outscored as long as I can see the skill of the player. AIU+Reegar or TGI+Harrier typically doesn't showcase skill as well as say, a Quarksman with a Locust. Mind you, there are ways to class these kits up. A well-played melee AIU is alright. Throwing a Mattock on a TGI is neat, (and the Saber on him is cool, as mentioned) etc.

Meh, I don't give a shit anymore what others play or what they score. Snap cheese the hell out of stuff and I'll spam throw and eat a sandwich whilst shit dies. The only thing that annoys me is when someone plays the same kits over and over and learns bad tendacies. An AIU or TGI can facetank a barrage of small arms fire and be just fine. Hell thats probaby the optimal way to play the kits, fuck cover. That said if you learn to play that way the game is going to suck for you after a while and you'll struggle to git gud with normal kits.

Even with a Claymore 10 and Weapon Weight, that's a pretty long cooldown on Charge with such a flimsy character. I guess what I'm saying is, Pull isn't a very useful power, even if you're running around with an Acolyte. It does nothing against armour.

I put at least 3 ranks in it for any kit that has the ability. Take passive 4b and 5b. You can charge often enough... He is a Drell, not a Krogan; you shouldn't be charging every enemy you see. 30% headshot passive means, if you can aim, Claymore will kill what you shoot at. Soft cover, aim, and dodge, that is how you Drell.
