I'm on the verge of going dark, and I was planning to once I know the press has copies to review. Anyone know if this has happened? And if not, when would you expect them to get it?
I'm sure some douchebag reviewer will spoil stuff before the embargo is up.

Yes they'll be playing with Day 1 patch ty - are you going dark btw? I didn't look at that new IGN video today, but even some topic titles here are revealing. Same with the ME Reddit. Reviews that break embargo don't happen often and they don't spoil major stuff in general often. This is hardly something to worry about. 2 weeks before release nowhere is safe though really. Game guide may leak any moment, EA early access starts in a week, some shops may break street dates, leaked copies from factories etc. you may as well go dark now |

We made a PM chat for the Jaal thread so people who don't want to be spoiled can visit the main thread without fear of being spoiled, but elsewhere it's bad. People are getting accounts and just posting spoilers on the forum without considering the spoiler thread. Luckily it's nothing major yet because of the embargo. |

I had planned on going fully dark when EA Early Access starts. I guess nothing else can be revealed outside of other IGN-type videos. And if it is, they are breaking embargo rules - but in this day and age - I fear it might happen with someone. But, I don't know where true trolls will get their info if they aren't in the press.
Had some major plot points of ME3 ruined during a dev live-chat last time around. Sucked royally. Of course I know to avoid Twitch-chat. And I'm worried trolls will post something spoiler-y here or Reddit that gets through before mods take it down.

We still have hardly any information about the game. It seems like there's a new trailer every month, but these are just recycling the same information repeatedly. As long as you avoid the gameplay segments from last week, you're fine. |

No point in going dark until Origin/EA Access is live. Once that happens, spoilers are going to be everywhere (for the opening part of the game at least). I won't be on here once it's the 15th and I won't be back until I complete the game. I am going to lock myself in a dark room, chain myself to a chair, and immerse myself in all things "Mass Effect Andromeda" until I can come back outside. Prepare yourself for the coming storm.

I agree, but many are worried about even the stuff posted here now, so 3 days before the access is a safe time for them if IGN keeps throwing stuff our way. By the 16th, they should really be gone though, because it'll be crazy haha |

I think EA Access/Origin will be when we start seeing leaks as people datamine the content because there isn't a NDA associated with it. |

No point in going dark until Origin/EA Access is live. Once that happens, spoilers are going to be everywhere (for the opening part of the game at least). It all depends on what people consider to be "spoilers". The word has wildly different meanings to different people. For example, some would only consider the big plot 'twists' (Sovereign is a Reaper, Saren is indoctrinated, that sort of stuff) to be spoilers, some (such as myself) only consider the second half of the main quest to be spoiler territory, some think anything related to any quest is a spoiler, and still others think that even the names of common weapons/armor/gear ("you can use a gun called the Avenger", "the collector armor is back in ME3", etc) are spoilers. |
