I don't know, I might. Depends on the situation and the voice acting.
Or I might just shotgun everything in the face.

Is there a different one for angry? Emotional is a bit vague, angry is the only time I can see myself using it.

It's funny. In DAI I avoided the angry dialogue at first, assuming that it would come off as brutish or petulant. When I relaxed on that and started using it occasionally, it turned out to seem like a pretty reasonable reaction to most instances it was allowed. That one angry dialogue in Trespasser, the one they used in the trailer, was pretty great.

Perhaps it's not just the tone but the reaction being heartfelt rather than analyzing a logical approach. I am honestly going to see what makes my Ryder tick and go from there.

I don't think "emotional" means what you seem to think it means.

What on earth are you talking about? An emotional response does not mean whining or crying. Punching someone because they insulted your mother is an emotional response. Saying "fuck off" when someone says something you don't like is an emotional response. Both of those things would typically be listed under the Renegade side of the dialogue wheel in the old Mass Effect. Saying "I love you" is an emotional response, assuming you're not joking or a sociopath.
Has literally nothing to do with millennials.

Which behavior are you referring? I think we've only mentioned two. The twelve year old shaming other kids on the playground for showing feelings, and the adults who master their emotions. The latter we've both already agreed the latter isn't childish. if by a different opinion, or anything that challenges their perceptions or any preconceived notions they had, because they are so much "in touch" with their emotions.
I think that both are problems, it's just that particularly with millennials, the second is much more pervasive.
As tends to happen with us, we're veering dramatically away from anything that has anything to do with the initial topic, but okay. I don't see it as generation specific. Most of the most sensitive or easily offended people I know are actually on the older side.

I tend to find attempts to distance oneself from emotion to be the more childlike impulse. Or they simply don't land on the emotional side of the personality scale in terms of psychology, instead of being referred to as a child. Some people tend to prefer reasoning and thinking guiding their actions over their emotions, and others are more guided by their emotions. People are just different, and neither is really "wrong".

If emotional actually means passionate or expressing doubts and the like, then yes I will be using it a lot, but if it comes off as more whiny or over-the-top (SSTEEEEVEEEE), then nope nonononono.

This is true, and also not an accurate interpretation of my comment. I'm not referring to people who happen not to be emotional. I'm referring to people who look down on emotions as taboo.

Don't know. Have to see what they say. I was soooooo good in KOTOR and ME that it was just disgusting. If emotional is the extreme good guy path, then I may use it a lot.

I don't see it as generation specific. Most of the most sensitive or easily offended people I know are actually on the older side. I wouldn't entirely agree with the behavior you described being referred to as "childish". It's just another emotional response that tends to happen with people of various ages to different degrees and for different reasons, but my understanding of psychology is admittedly somewhat limited, so I might be wrong.
As for "the youth these days..." I'd like to think that I'm still young enough to get away with making this comment... I don't claim that this behavior is exclusive to specific ages, just more pervasive.
*shrug* I still don't know which behavior you're referring to. I can't unless you can be more specific.

Ill use it when my Ryder gets pissed off, I play these types of games as if i was the MC, i make the choices I would make irl. So if someone is being stupid or whining at my Ryder i will call them on the bs.
This is the only time i see me using it though, to get pissed off at characters.

The context would determine everything to me during my first playthrough.
I will be emotional with squadmates and NPC I really like and I feel my character trusts. I will be profesional most of the time during mission unless I start to lose faith in the brass, then I will be casual (or any option I have to be sassy and sarcastic as fuck). I tend to be sarcastic if I can if it's possible. And I want to have daddy issues if the game allows me because is my favourite trope AND I'M DETERMINED TO EMBRACE IT.

Generally on ME games, I'll be more professional in the field. I am THE representative of humanity, after all. In personal conversations I'll be more empathetic.
