One of the more exciting activities that seem to dot the landscape on planets in MEA are Remnant Vaults. One could argue they are essentially MEA's version of Astrarium Puzzles, requiring you to do a few minigames before having access to a locked dungeon. However, based on what we've seen, Remnant Vaults seem to be much more involved and unique. I think a better comparison would be to how dungeons work in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There will be a healthy balance of exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat that will lead to unique treasure at the end of the vault. Personally, this is one of the features I'm looking forward to the most. I always love finding rare and unique items and gear to further optimize my character!

I'm far more interested to explore those vaults then to defeat Kett and their leader Archon. They're meh from what we heard so far, but those Remnant vaults sure do sound very interesting.

It's just my opinion, but the Archon and the kett seem far too generic and uninteresting for them to be the real threat in Andromeda. That's just my own personal observation, though. I agree that the Remnant Vaults, at this point in time, sound far more compelling and interesting.

I agree that the Remnant Vaults, at this point in time, sound far more compelling and interesting. Kett have cool looking alien design, but that's it so far. Like you said, they look like a local threat for Andromeda Imitative that likely are seeking Remnant technology inside those Vaults. So interesting part is in those Vaults, yet strangely they are going to be side quests it seems. But considering you play most of content after beating main story, I guess it would make sense to first neutralize Archon's threat and then go and seek out secrets those vaults. That would actually make some sense for people to role play like that. First eliminate initial threat for AI to survive in short term, then go and explore those vaults to aid AI's for it's long term benefits. I might be up to something with what Bioware is trying to do there.

I like exploring tombs, vaults, etc. All the better with environmental puzzles, and a distinct sense of uncovering something secret.
This time around, one of the planets has river systems underground; so I'm sure there will be a lot of spelunking outside of the vaults as well.
And not just in RPGs; I absolutely loved it when Assassin's Creed had tombs (though a lot of the appeal there is due to the accurate architecture [esp. in AC2's tombs, inside some of the greatest landmarks of Florence and Venice] and the eerie music that plays during the tomb sections).

I like the look and feel from the videos. But I hate platforming, mainly because I am so clutzy. My characters always seem fairly cool and graceful in combat, then die ten times failing to jump from a ledge. It sort of breaks the cinematic feel of things, but that's just my own failings really. I'm sure the Remnant Vaults will be cool.

Yeah I love exploring any place that has a crap ton of lore associated with it. It'll be like exploring an old dwarven thaig or ancient Tevinter ruin in DA, or a dwemer, aylied, or nordic barrow in TES. Those are some of my favorite parts of those games.

They better not be like the same 3 rooms repeated and full of space goblins. Otherwise yeah it looks interesting from a gameplay pov, story wise from what ive seen, not so much. Some of the dialogue too * shudders *, ewww.

I wouldn't say exited. Just curious what will be found in them. Agreed. I think the first few I will be eager to delve into, but will they become somewhat repetitive after a while? I'm sure puzzles or whatever will be unique to each one but the ambiance and layout of each may be similar. I don't know, either way I'll explore each and every single one.

First eliminate initial threat for AI to survive in short term, then go and explore those vaults to aid AI's for it's long term benefits. I might be up to something with what Bioware is trying to do there. It definitely seems that the vaults (at least most of them as one or two may be tied to the Critical Path) are largely optional. Again, it seems to essentially be MEA's version of Astrarium Puzzles. That being said, optional or not, I'm still exploring all of them for the epic loot! Do you "play most of the content after beating [the] main story"? I was under the impression you had the option to play a lot of it after the Critical Path, but you could also do all of it before you beat the main story. That's certainly been the case with every previous BioWare game, with DAI being the most recent example. We already know that some content will be locked if you do not do it before progressing in the Critical Path. Loyalty missions are one of the examples that can be done at any time. Regardless of what BioWare intends, I'm planning on doing everything before I beat the main story if possible. Yeah I love exploring any place that has a crap ton of lore associated with it. It'll be like exploring an old dwarven thaig or ancient Tevinter ruin in DA, or a dwemer, aylied, or nordic barrow in TES. Those are some of my favorite parts of those games. Agreed! I love seeing the lore, culture, and history of these abandoned places. Especially with Dwemer and Ayleid ruins, it's always creepy yet exciting to know that the individuals who made these places no longer exist. It will be great if we get that vibe from Remnant Vaults. I'm very excited to explore the remnants and exploring period. I plan on exploring or trying to explore them all. Agreed. I will explore everything 20 times over if I have to!!!

To be honest, it's kind of funny those are two of the things I'm most excited about that's not traditional BioWare. I'm really hoping BioWare does a great job as I want an amazing story but also an amazing open world experience!

(Only SP, though; and I didn't really like it beyond the first few hours) Well, the joke Iakus made about the planet beign called Pandora is from Borderlands 2. Hyperion is the name of the villain organization in Borderlands 2 which wants Pandora for its vaults. So I just thought I'd point out the irony. Though the one about Scott/Sara potentionally overthrowing their father is fun too!
