Okay my sons computer is in the shop for repair, but he wanted to play ME2 so I let him use my computer. He started a character, but along the line he decided that he did not like that character. So he exited the game and simply deleted the character safe games. ( His safe games, not those of my Sentinel and Infiltrator. ) After that he wanted to start a new build ... BUT now every time we try to start ME2 we get this warning ... Now my apologies, but I am dutch so much of the text may not be readable for everyone. Suffice to say the game spews out that error and I have no idea why it does that all of a sudden. I tried looking at the cloud storage but there is nothing to restore from my sons character safe games. Repairing would most likely replace the files from ALOT, and most likely will not solve the problem. So is there anything else I can try to get the game to start up again? ( Besides removing it and the re-installing the game again that is? )

I don't play on a PC, so I may not be much help here. Is this just when you try to start a new game or can you still load one of your own old saves?
There is an issue on the console where the importer freezes up in ME2 if the player doesn't play a new import through to a point where an actual save can be made. This prevents new games from being started, but doesn't interfere with loading old saves. I've found that means there is usually a temp save stuck in the ME2 Importer folder (this is on the Xbox though). Could you son's save be still a sort of temp save in whatever is equivalent on the PC to the Xbox's ME2 Importer folder?

This is a long shot, but has your son's game saves been mistaken as transferring over to your PC instead of his?
(I'm saying this as a lowly console peasant, but I had an awkward time when I played on a friend's console and it thought I was changing to a different XBOX. I had to manually switch it back and it had incomplete game saves because the data was sort of split up between machines.)
The best advice I can give would be to call customer support and ask what they recommend.
(And if all else fails, doing an internet check might yield a vital clue. Bleh, if I had a nickel for every time I had to troubleshoot that way...)

Did you try googling the error message? That is, typing it word for word? I've solved a number of problems that way. I googled yours and a few results came up. I don't know how helpful they are because I don't know Dutch I tried using google to translate the message into English, but it's too garbled to actually yield any search results. All I got from it was that it's having a memory read error. Do you have the game through Origin? If so, there is a "repair game" option that saved me when I screwed up installing a mod. It's worth a try, at least.

( Not that it matters. ) The only import files I see in the ME1 folder ar those of my Soldier and the one I downloaded and used for my FemShep Infiltrator? I have no idea how or where to see if there is a Temp save left of his character? opuspace, I doubt it, because he used my ME1 Soldier import to start his character? dragontartare, I do play ME2 through Origin, and I did thought about the repair option. I did not try it out yet because it would mean re-installing all the mods again. Then again removing and re-installing the game has the same result, so I guess I will give Repair a try first.

Well repairing the game in Origin allowed me to start the game again ... but it some how messed with the looks of my characters. ( Black spots on a few places of their faces. ) And no I did not re-install mods after repairing the game ( Can not prove that over the internet, but just try to take my word for it. ) ... I just repaired the game and then tried to start the game. And that was the moment I saw those spots here and there on my Sentinel and Infiltrators faces. So once I am back later this afternoon/early evening I will remove ME2 and then re-install it.

I've been trying to do some reading and it does seem like the process for importing saves is quite a bit different on the PC than it is on the Xbox... so I'm afraid I can't help you at all. Sorry.

Probably not much help, but it you use a search engine with the entry "Toepassingsfout 0x008dee47" you should get some information on what the problem is. Although I can make a guess at what some of the entries are about (from a memory of school German, you will have a much better chance of finding what, if anything, is helpful. Edit: you might find this link gives relevant information.
