For one, the quest objectives is the second row of "do x amount of things" we've seen just like Inquisition and you can already tell those objectives are arbitrary gameplay goals with some tacked on story-relevance. In essence all gameplay objectives are, but games that do storytelling well hide these things and keep you engaged in why you're doing it instead of thinking "Oh I gotta collect the quest thing". This is shitty, and not Mass Effect-esque. UNC: Prothean Data Discs UNC: Turian Insignias UNC: Valuable Minerals UNC: Locate Signs of Battle UNC: Asari Writings Seems right up there if you ask me.

Your dragon age inquisition comparisons are making me happy with my decision not to finally play it this past month. I decided against playing it in case the two games were very similar. I would rather the Mass Effect experience seem completely new and fresh even with its flaws. Typically those flaws don't sink in until many hours of playing so they are easy to ignore due to the fun mechanics/hype. If I noticed them in Da:I, they would only hurt the initial experience/opinion on the game.

At least from a gameplay perspective. As far as the fetch questing is concerned pretty much every game from the beginning of gaming has things that you go out and 'collect'. It just seems to be a matter of taste and double standards and personal preference. Mindless questing in Skyrim= OMG WHAT A GREAT GAME!!!!!1111, mindless questing in Inquisition, boo...hiss. Mindless questing in the Witcher (granted this game did a good job in limiting such things but it is still there)= OMG what A GREAT GAME!!!!111. Though from personal taste I really liked Inquisition and Witcher. Skyrim...not so much.

As long as it's good, I'm not bothered if it's similar!
