Wonder what it could be....probably some sort of a device similar to a Mass Relay to go back to the Milky Way? There's a quest you can see in the IGN Exploration video called "Meridian: The Way Home". So I'm guessing it's our path back to the Milky Way.

Probably Habitat 7 judging by the icon.

It's possible but I would be quite shocked if they established the connection back with MW so fast. I thought they would save that for Andromeda 3 final cutscene lol and thus avoid having to actually deal with the open connection (and ME3 endings crawling back in)

"The way home" could also mean it cleans Habitat 7, the planet that was supposed to be humanitys new home, of the scourge.

It could be on the board from the start but still take a very long time to complete.

If there is a trilogy of course...

With the launch trailer, it seems we know what Meridian is or where it is located: the giant black object in the center of the Heleus Cluster.

Im actually pretty certain we're done with the Milky Way forever considering they would have to account for 4 really big decisions we can make at the end of ME 3. More than likely Andromeda will lead on to a saga that could very well have as many titles as they want to make. That could be one more, or it could be six more, so long as people like Mass Effect they'll continue telling stories in Andromeda (and beyond possibly). As for Meridian, its possible that its referring to the planet we designate as the new home after the habitat 7 debacle

Simple mistake or something more. Hmmm More than likely referring to the original trilogy. Mac slipped several times in the stream when referring to Ryder as Shepard and the Tempest as the Normandy. They've said several times it wont be a trilogy. Edit: Although, its possible the RYDER series of games will be a trilogy but we'll see more than 3 games within the Andromeda galaxy.

I hope they won't follow the DA episodic story. I do love the mass effect saga because we had time to build our hero through 3 games and a ton of dlc. In dragon age games you have to give up your character after every episode and the open ended scenario prevent to use them in the story in some case.
As for meridian it could be 3 things for me : -The ship linked above -The Triangle structure we see in trailers but it seems to be a lock of some kind -The Remnant city, my personnal favorite.

Can't be the Milky Way... can it? I mean why would you go to the trouble of going to a new galaxy to dodge dealing with an ending and then go back after one game? Nah.

Maybe it's a lesson Bioware is trying to teach us; that the grass isn't always greener on the other side! Then the next game in the series will be you returning to the Milky Way to find no way to FTL travel after the relays were destroyed and the crew of the Nexus slowly slip into insanity and you have a whole Event Horizon thing going on. 11/10!!! -IGN
