The Earth DLC established some kits that were N7 specialists. Paladin, Destroyer, Shadow, Fury and Demolisher.
I imagine Shep to be above such things... A battlemaster knows no style while knowing all styles. What about Alec?
Or, is the lore at this point such a pick 'em that for God's sake who cares?

Personally, I'd decanonize the Earth DLC characters purely on the grounds of giving us a "sentinel" without biotics.
Given what we know of Andromeda's approach to powers/skills/talents, it wouldn't surprise me if Alec doesn't fit neatly into any established class.

To be fair, combination of powers is only one part of the class designation, the other being role, and the Paladin fits into the Sentinel role of support/tank. An easy fix, though, would have been to simply give the Paladin a purple barrier rather than a shield. Anyway, Alec's N7 armour is apparently tuned for biotics. Don't have a screenshot right now, but the classic N7 armour you can wear is a refitted version of his suit, and it says that.

I agree.... The Earth DLC kits are fun, but they are silly and restrictive.
I imagine the N7 Classes to be something the new recruits all have to go through, as part of their N7 training. Then, as they become veterans, they change up their skills and find what works best for them.
Head canon, but what else have we got?
