What!? Bethany dies? We can't have that. Reload. If you have Anders, she doesn't die. Why I stressed bringing Anders with Sibling or not to bring Sibling at All. Yes, we did bring Anders, and Bethany is a Grey Warden. Either way we lost her. She was our main damage dealer. I hope Hawke gets to see her again.

(But I think, Bethany give herself up, because she doesn't want to be burden anymore... but Warden Bethany is sadder.)

She becomes a Grey Warden in the Deep Roads. 3. She is caught by Templars while Hawke isn't watching her during HAwke's trip to the Deep Roads. You lose Sibling no matter what at the end of Act 1. However. With no DLCs you will see her twice more; one is very brief. The second is the final battle. WITH DLCs, you could have her the whole of each DLC. MOTA and LEgacy.

Well I bought all the dlc, but for some reason it's not showing up in my game. Even though when I purchased the dlc. it downloaded and said "New Content Added." I will reinstall the game like Catalina suggested after I finish this playthrough. But thanks to both of you for telling me the other possible outcomes for Bethany. Man, I gotta say I think I like this game better than DAO, which is saying a lot. I like the many possible outcomes and different paths you can take.

But DA2 has the personality choices I love the hell out of. Also, the romances aren't gender gated! Additionally, I was studying the Wiki PAge for Act 2, and here is a non spoiler quotes. So, not only does dialogue change depending on whether you rival or friend you companions, what class you are, and what personality you choose.... quests unlock depending on your Act 1 political leanings. So much replayablility.

So much replayablility. Yes, I also loved and still do Morrigan and Leliana in DAO. But I enjoy seeing the cutscenes in DA2 of the companions talking with each other. Like Isabella and Fenris. I also like that the romances are not gender gated. I've flirted with Anders, Fenris, and Isabella in act II. I got a huge boost in friendship for flirting with Isabella (+25). I also agree with you. I can see this game has a lot replayability. DAO had it too, but not as much I think? Anyway great game. It joins my list of great games I've played.

Okay, so last night I did my first post Bethany quest, "Blackpowder Courtesy." The Viscount asks Hawke to go see the Arishok who has asked for her by name. Hawke, Aveline, Anders, and Isabella head down to the Qunari compound in the Docks. Before entering Isabella says she has other matters to attend to and she will meet up with the group later. Inside the Arishok tells Hawke that he believes Javaris (the little bastard who never payed me), had stolen the formula for a poisonous gas that was lethal to humans. A formula that was left as a decoy. Afterwards Anders says it's better to check the Coterie. Isabella rejoins the party and they party head to Darktown and speaks to the coterie, she tells Hawke that Javaris had left town in a hurry, and that he stilled owed her money. She reveals the location of an underground tunnel called "Smuggler's Cut." The group heads to the tunnels, and immediately upon entering they are attacked by Carta thugs. The party defeats them and heads deeper into the tunnels fighting more Carta thugs. Hawke finds an item labeled "Ship in a bottle" which she almost missed. The group heads outside when they are attacked by waves of Carta, who turn out to be Jaravis's bodyguards. After defeating Hawke meets a trembling Jaravis who tells her tat he was framed by an elf for stealing the Qunari poisonous gas, and was forced to flee. He tells her where the elf is located and Hawke leaves him (although she really wanted to kill him for not paying her 3 years earlier). The group heads to the side alley in Lowtown, and upon entering are stopped by a guardsman. He tells them that the area has been contaminated by a poisonous gas. Aveline tells the guard they will take care of it. Hawke enters the alley and it's covered in a green poisonous gas, she finds a latch and closes one of the opened barrels. Upon closing it she is attacked by mercenaries. After defeating them Hawke continues the pattern three more times with the same result. When closing the last barrel the elf reveals herself, she and Hawke exchange words, after which leads to a fight. The party defeats the fanatic and her mercenaries, and head back to the docks to speak to the Arishok. Before entering Isabella once again asks to leave (suspicious?). The Arishok scolds Hawke and tells her they are stuck in Kirkwall, and are not going to leave to their homeland until he recovers an item that was lost under his care. The fgroup heads back to the Viscount's Keep, and that's were I left it off. I will finish the quest tonight.

Okay, a lot happened last night. The Viscount wants Hawke,Isabella, Merrill, and Anders to find a missing Qunari delegate. A Qunari that stands outside th compound wanted Hawke to find a missing patrol. The group found the missing patrol in the Wounded Coast. They were killed by demons. Hawke returned to Qunari and told him of the groups fate. The group also rescued a mage. They also rescued a guard patrol that was being ambushed. While in the coast Hawke try to help Aveline and Donnic hookup, the attempt was futile since everything flew over his head. Hawke returned to the keep and helped Aveline and Donnic finally hook up. Hawke made love to Isabella and Anders. She told Anders that he was the one and that Isabella was just a fling. Anders/Justice killed an innocent mage that the Templars were trying to make tranquil. The group was told of a meeting that was going to take place at midnight in Hightown. The party went to the meeting and it was an ambush. Merril wanted Hawke to get an artifact from the Keeper to fix the Eluvian mirror. The Keeper sent them on a task, along the way they found the bodies of three missing Dalish hunters. Hawke took their amulets with the intent togive them back to the Keeper. Further inside the saw an elf who freaked out when he saw Merrill. The group chased him and a huge creature killed him and then set it's eyes on the party. They killed the creature after a long hard fought battle. They returned to the camp gave the amulets to the Keeper and told her the creature was destroyed. She gave Hawke the artifact and warned her not to give it to Merrill. Against Anders warning Hawke gave the artifact to Merrill.
The Isabella, Merrill, and Anders combo is pretty good. So is the Aveline, Merrill, and Anders combo. I still miss Bethany damage dealing though. Also Merrill is so adorable and even though she's a blood mage. She is still innocent. Like when she talks to Isabella. lol

Merrill just can not treat people, not that innocent, but nice girl, yes, I like her, but be careful, she give rivalry for the destruction of evil tomes.

I remember it though from the Dalish Origin and Witch Hunt dlc. I also forgot we confronted Bartram. I liked Varric's over exaggeration version. lol

I know it was the idol that drove him mad. I also just finished the Feynriel quest in the fade. Merrill and Aveline turned against Hawke and Justice. Hawke granted Feynriel's wish and she killed him, turning him Tranquil.

He just was terrified. If you chose the right answers, as the sloth demon advises (not too quick, so don't say him "this is a demon!", and also that "just go with it!", choose the middle option, let him take notice alone that it's a trickery, or (this is my favorite option –poor Anders! but the after this, the conversation is worth it*–) deal with demon, and turn against Justice, finally kill demon. So, if you chose one of them, Feynriel will be much more confident. (This is similar to him, than the Circle's Harrwoing, I suppose, just he receive a little help.) This is my favorite quest, especially in romance (before romance). By the way, Justice was angry because of Tranquility? (I never did it.) Merrill's interesting... was too easy prey, despite that she is a blood mage. I never took Aveline there, but Fenris also interesting after the Fade, his reaction depend on rivalry/friendship. *If you choose a bad response, Anders no longer wants to romance! So, be careful wit this version!

I have Hawke, who always was sarcastic with him, that was funny, but the other was always kind. They got some different answers, the right answer only important after the Fade quest, if Hawke turned against Justice. This is similar than the answer at the Ella quest. About Feynriel: Hawke can calm down him, even if he terrified, and if you take Varric, Varric also say, that "this is really necessary?" if Hawke wants to "kill" him.

Aww, I did not know that about Feynriel. I just kept on choosing "they are demons!" No, Justice doesn't get angry. Anders only tells the mother, that her son wanted to be tranquil. About Anders being sensitive. I know to choose my words carefully when speaking to him. Thank you for the tips. I will use them in my next playthrough.

Feynriel also has three fate, just as the sibling: 1. Tranquil 2. Go away Kirkwall to learn his ability 3. Possessed (if Hawke let the sloth demon to possess him).

Following the lead of the missing Qunari delegate. Hawk, Aveline, Varric, and Anders go to the Chantry. Hawke asks to speak to the grand cleric, instead Sister Patrice appears and is now Mother Patrice. Hawke asks her about the missing delegate, Mother Patrice refuses to tell her anything at first. Eventually she tells Hawke about her ex-bodyguard Ser Varnell. He is leading a rally near Darktown. Hawke heads to Ser Varnell's Refuge near Darktown. As she wanders deeper into the refuge, she sees Ser Varnell and a group of fanatics torturing two Qunari. Mother Patrice appears and exchanges a few words with Varnell. After Hawke threatens to kill Varnell and his supporters. Varnell slashes a Qunari's throat and orders his supporters to fight. Mother Patrice flees and the party engages the mob. After a long battle against Varnell and wave after wave of fanatics, They are all slain. Hawke summons the Viscount. Shocked that a member of the Chantry would do such a thing, he asks Hawke what the should do with the bodies. Hawke tells him not to hide them because the Arishok would know. The Viscount then tells Hawke to go speak to the Arishok.

Does he respect her?

Hawke gets news of a commotion back at her estate. She enters her estate and sees Gamlan trying to talk to Sandal. Hawke asks what's wrong and Gamlan says he hasn't seen Leandra. Hawke reassures him that she is alright. Bodahn says that maybe she is with a suiter. An admirer had set her white lilies. Hawke remembers there was a serial killer who would send white lilies to his next target. She tells Gamlan and he says he will check his house in Lowtown. Hawke heads to Lowtown at night and sees Gamlan speaking to a street urchin. Seeiing that Gamlan was getting know where with the boy Hawke decides to intervene. She pays the boy a few silver and the boy tells her everything he saw. Gamlan leaves to search his house while Hawke and the group analyze the blood. They follow the trail of blood to the Foundry where Hawke originally found Ninette's remains. The blood led her to a trapdoor. Inside they were attacked by demons. Deeper inside they found what look liked a shrine to Hawke's mother. They eventually found the mage. Hawke asked about her mother and he revealed what he done to her. Enraged and heartbroken Hawke attacked killing all demons the mage could summon. The group killed the mage and Hawke when to the creature.. After a tearful goodbye, Hawke went back to the estate. There she contemplated what had happened. Her uncle came and asked what had happened to Leandra. Hawke told him and he blamed her and all mages. Hawke told him it's not all mages fault. Angry Gamlan left. Soon afterward Anders appeared to comfort her. This was a sad and creepy quest. I felt bad for Hawke. She lost Carver, Bethany, and now her mother. So many sad moments in this game.

(If I aged my Hawke in the Dark Emporium, this is the moment [Leandra's death], when I usually do this.)

He was very nice with my Hawkes, he told him: "I do not hope, you die". I think, this is the kindest thing, that he told in his whole life...

So my femHawke will forever be young.
