Mass Effect Andromeda is officially nine days away (at the time of writing this) and I'm fairly confident that will be a big hit. Whether I would classify it as best game of all time is uncertain (I have to play it first), but let's pretend that the game does indeed become an instant hit, which obviously means a sequel would have to be made eventually. So what would that sequel be called and what should the focus be?
Considering how Bioware said they are treating Andromeda as a spin-off and don't plan to turn it into an official trilogy. This most likely means that much like Dragon Age, the "sequels" will revolve around major plot points from previous games, but will change main characters and not directly follow right after the previous game.
So for my sequel idea, I'll call it Mass Effect: Beyond (lazy name I know) and it will follow a new character that takes yet another initiative to journey beyond the Helius Cluster to other corners of Andromeda. Of course, it doesn't have to be in Andromeda. Another variation of the same title could occur in the Milky Way, probably 600 years after the events of Mass Effect 3.
What would you guys call your sequel and what it would it be about?

Well, we know there should be four Pathfinder teams. If we were to be able to play as the Pathfinder team from each of the other three species, that could be very cool. It would allow for 3 sequels and would finally allow people to play as a non-human in single-player! The only problem I guess might be when you would play as the Asari Pathfinder that there isn't a male option, but I don't think that's as big a deal to men anyway (see Horizon Zero Dawn and Tomb Raider). The hiccup might be if we run into them with the Ryder's in Andromeda they would seem to be mostly set as a character, but clever writing could always change that. I'd personally start with the Salarians, but I'm guessing Turians might be more popular.
You could call it Mass Effect: Andromeda - (subtitle) Helius Lost

They won't leave Andromeda for a while. When they were saying that the game isn't a trilogy what they were referring to is the fact that they aren't locked into 3 games for a single character. Id put all my money on them making a few more games with Ryder as its lead. Whether that be only 1 sequel, or 4, who knows. It entirely depends on how much people want more Mass Effect.

I personally like to think that sometimes, less is more. I mean, you could have a big budget epic adventure, but sometimes it's a good idea to take a breather and make something a bit smaller in scale but with plenty of emotional character. Maybe after the massiveness of Andromeda, Bioware might consider a small scale project in the future, either a mobile game, a game that place in the Milky Way, or perhaps a partnership with Telltale. Personally, I would really love it Bioware not only gave us an alien main character, but maybe have the characters be mercenaries. I mean, in every game we played so far, we were either military or lead explorers in an Initiative, which makes sense because are choices have some authority and we're able to get some really nice weapons and gear. But as a merc, you can have this extra challenge to the gameplay. For starters your gear is more hand-me down, so a larger emphasis would be focused on crafting and scavenging, and you generally don't have much authority as soldiers, so your choices can be more small scaled and nuanced. Plus, soldiers have this somewhat predetermined morality that even the harshest of renegades couldn't deny, which is protecting the galaxy from threats. As a merc, your morality is much more gray, with more emphasis on getting your next paycheck. This could add some unique moral dillemas where you have to choose between money, your crew, or innocent lives.
