It's definitely a lot better with friends. I greatly prefer the combat system and interface of BL2, much more fluid and clear. The DLCs are really good, but some require a minimum level for your characters!

chivalry medieval warfare, 1200 hours on it and still boot it up once in a while, pissing people off with an archer or maa with quarterstaff is living the dream.
witcher series, gothic series, civ 5, endless legend are also top of my fav list.

Games I've played this year, all several years old because I'm a cheapskate and always one console generation behind: - Tales of Symphonia
- Portal (couldn't finish it, gave me motion sickness)
- Star Ocean: The Last Hope
- Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
Next in the queue is Tales of Graces. I recently started an ME1 replay as well.

The only game I've completed since I started playing me3mp is FFXIII: Lightning Returns. If you're into FF games and you played the first 2, do it. It's not a long game and it was fun, I'd give it 7/10. I played and enjoyed XIII and XIII-2, until the last chapter or so of XIII-2 fell off the darkness precipice and left me feeling decidedly "meh". If Lightning Returns is fun to play though then perhaps I'll add it to the queue.

Was gonna play Metal Gear Solid V, started it last night and everything, but I figure I'll wait until any new news is out just to be on the safe side (not that I expect much).
So, now it's time to finally beat Tales of Symphonia HD, seeing as I've owned it since day 1, and started it twice. As a side note, Tales of Graces f is my favorite game in the series. I actually enjoy the game's cheesy dialogue, because it revels in it, and it's just a blast to play, while mixing light drama and a lot of comedy.
As a matter of fact... I may skip Symphonia and replay Graces =p

Symphonia was the first one in the series that I'd played, I bought it after a friend recommended it. I enjoyed the general feel of it, especially the character interaction, and especially the skits. I think I enjoyed Dawn of the New World even more, the character interaction is equally well-written and the gameplay tweaked to be a bit less awkward and more fun (no overworld, refined battle system with more frequent unison attacks, mystic artes fairly easy to pull off). I can imagine both the male and female leads to be love-'em-or-hate-'em characters though. I picked up Graces as a result of enjoying both Symphonias, will probably start playing it towards the end of the month. I play games glacially slowly so it'll last me until well into the autumn.

I keep trying to like Borderlands 2 (or 1 for that matter) and I keep failing to like it. Maybe I will give it one more try. I've played and finished both still not all the DLCs though. Done it all mostly solo but also with a friend at times. It's one of the few games I've finished and started again with a new character.

For me it's been about local co-op, playing side by side with my little guy. BL1 definitely feels pretty clunky. You actually get to know the BL1 characters way better as main NPCs in BL2 anyway. So basically if you're not set with a gaming buddy to run through the campaign together, BL2 is where it's at.

So basically if you're not set with a gaming buddy to run through the campaign together, BL2 is where it's at. I can't agree with this more. BL1 is a game I just do not enjoy. Never even beat it. I can understand why people like it, but it's just not my kind of game. BL2 is one of my favorite games ever. The writing's extremely sharp, so even if you're not a big fan of the gameplay (which is much better in the sequel), then the story, an awesome villain, and the comedy alone can keep you entertained. As for Tales. I've been playing the series forever (since Destiny on the PS1). I really do like Symphonia, I'd rate it as objectively the second, or third (depending on what day of the week it is), best entry in the series but it just hasn't aged well. The HD version's new coat of paint is nice, as is the PS2 version's bonuses we never had in the west before, and the new costumes from the modern games are sweet. The issue is, the game still lacks free run, still has a spell queue (so action pauses when high level spells are used), and the skits, awesome as they are, aren't voiced in English. It's still a classic example of JRPG goodness, packed with content and good characters. But it's also missing a lot of the refinements from the stuff after it. Dawn's just not my type of game.

Doing my 3rd playthrough of the Witcher 3 with all the DLC goodness, because that game is just a masterpiece I can't get enough of. Spent quite a bit of time lately with Stellaris too - modded it to have the ME music for maximum space magic effect. And now just waiting for Deus Ex to drop. All in all, good times.

Batman: Arkham Knight. Quite enjoyable despite the terrible PC port forcing me to turn off/minimize a lot of the graphic settings. Good storyline despite the predictable twist - definitely inferior to its predecessors (except Arkham Origins, which was very mediocre). Combat and other game mechanics are exceptional. A few low points here and there but overall, a very good experience. Nice ending to the trilogy. Very nice soundtrack as well. This one in particular stands out (probably has to do with the gravity of the scene during which it plays)

Over the last year, I enjoyed GTA 5 and Witcher 3 a lot.
GTA 5 had so many details done right, hidden eastereggs and hilarious moments. While I still consider GTA San Andreas the greatest in the series, 5 was a worthy successor.
The Witcher 3 showed how to combine Storyline with a vast open world. There is great room for closure when it's up to decide the fate of Geralt and his friends, and his love interest(s). To me it was a great emotional gaming expirience. Two great expansions on top that really deserves the name expansion, Blood and Whine alone has a big world with an intense storyline that offers more content than some full priced games.

I just picked up Overwatch on the PS4, seems like a fun game but I have no idea what i'm doing. Not sure what character classes to use so half the time i'm playing the robot ninja. It reminds me of Team Fortress 2, only more tactical.
Also i'm still playing Darks Souls 3, Uncharted 4 and Bloodborne

I have gotten into playing Saints Row 3, because it is easy/fun to blow up things in the game engine and because it was free.
There are a lot of games that I wish had a MP community like me3mp.

Star Wars Battlefront. It's a simple game but it's just so much fun.
Was also playing DA:I for awhile, but I just let Empress Celene get murder knifed (think that's about midway through) and have since stalled. Happens a lot with most RPG style games: I lose interest. ME was the exception to the rule (though the games are pretty short, which helps).
Battlefield 1 Beta starts up in a couple of weeks, and I'll probably be glued to that until it closes (game is in Oct.).

Thus far the content has been great IMO (particularly the new heroes and maps), but I'm a regular (400+ hours so far) so I get good mileage out of it. They've managed to avoid power creep with DLC stuff for the most part, which is good. Player base on PS4 is pretty strong and I can find a game in any mode (DLC included) within seconds at pretty much any time of the day. I can't speak for the other two systems. I've heard Xbox is okay, but the PC community is a bit thinner (and the lack of a server browser doesn't help), so they might have issues.

The early part of the year was Fallout 4 but I've not been so often to the Commonwealth just recently. Still haven't finished and have no idea who this 'Shaun' character is supposed to be. My settlements are looking fine and there are no deathclaws north of Boston. Just recently I've picked up Dishonored again in preparation for the autumn release of Dishonored 2. I keep meaning to get back to The Witcher. I still haven't bought 3 mainly because I got half way through 2 and stopped. Not because I didn't like it or anything but because I wandered off and did something else.
