I'm about 60 hours into Elden Ring and I'm really enjoying it, trying to avoid spoilers and guides as best as possible. I'm in Altus Plateau making my way toward Volcano Manor, banging my head against a boss there because I'm stubborn. I know I've missed a bunch so far, I kinda blew through Caelid to get to the Radahn fight, which was really good, and I need to go back to explore it even though I'm over leveled at this point for most of it and Ainsel River. Which reminds me I need to go speak with a Crucible Knight minding his business in Siofra/Nokron, whatever. I started Milicent's questline in Caelid, but haven't gone further into the Lake of Rot. I struggled early with Margit (~30 attempts), but since then it's been pretty good as far as bosses go, I'm nowhere near end-game yet so we shall see. My main gripe, which is something that's really my fault, is the delayed attacks a lot of enemies and bosses have that I preemptively dodge because I'm an idiot. That damn Margit was the worst, I could've baked a damn cake in the amount of time between him raising his arm and actually attacking. I'm glad they added a jump and the horse is dope too, but I wish we could headbutt with him or rear kick, I think either would be cool. This may be weird because I haven't played an open world game in a long time, but I feel overwhelmed at times with just how big it is and I need to use map markers more so I can explore areas I pass through at a later time. I get too distracted even if I have a plan in mind. I've been to a few areas several times and I'm still finding stuff like Catacombs or Ruins, etc. I know I'm missing stuff in Liurnia too. The main legacy dungeons I've seen so far are Stormveil Castle and Raya Lucaria and they're top notch. Castle Morne was quite good as well, but I think that's a minor dungeon. I was not a fan of the Shaded Castle (Miyazaki and his damn poison areas) and the boss there whopped my ass more than a few times and I had more attempts at him than Radahn. Overall I enjoy it a lot. I do have some complaints that I can't think of right now because I think of them as I'm playing and promptly forget I guess one would be I can't see shit for the little notes/maps you can buy/find because even when you "zoom" in it's still small as fuck. Also, I think some of the prompt boxes last too long or default to "NO" when they shouldn't like the flask for the horse, but that could be FromSoft trolling us. I can't really speak on the graphics because of my old ass TV and Xbone I think they're pretty good, but the artistic vision (direction? I'm not sure if that's the right word) is phenomenal.

It's one of the best game i've ever played.Seriusly,i love this game.Don't worry for the bosses tho. Those of them which are hard, are in the next zones. The hardest of them is optional and easy to miss. Remember this phrase-I am Malenia, Blade of Miquella, because you will hear it once ,twice if you play solo. The world in this game is very, very big, with so many places and secrets to discover.Great art style, but the graphic is out of date.It looks like 10 YO game, although you won't notice it,because of the mentioned art style.Just great design. The game was a true garbage technically on the release tho. They fixed some stuff,so atm is much better.BTW,what's your build ? As for Margitt,u mad bro? He is easy as fck. You should get used to the delayed attacks tho, because almost every enemy, not only the bosses have some kind of it. I have more than 300 hours atm and still can't stop playing. So many ways to beat the game. The first play through took me 120 hours, because i wanted to beat every single boss and to discover every single cave/ruin etc. Then as usual, every next run took me much less time. Finished it like 7 times for now.Good luck tarnished and don't put these foolish ambitions to rest

Remember this phrase-I am Malenia, Blade of Miquella, I've seen the memes about it I'm excited for it and that will probably cease after the 10/20/30th attempt. but the graphic is out of date.It looks like 10 YO game Which is fitting for my 10+ year old TV I'm playing on I hardly notice Dex/Bleed using the Keen Uchi and Bloodhound's Fang with no summons, no spirit ashes. I'm going to start leveling Faith or Int once I hit 50/50 Vig/Dex so I can use start using some spells for weapon buffs I have a ton of memory slots, but can't use any spells, an agile Unga Bunga I guess. As for Margit I almost quit bc of him I got so frustrated. I had to remind myself he ain't harder than Friede/Midir/Gael so once I did that it only took a few tries. The first play through took me 120 hours, because I wanted to beat every single boss and to discover every single cave/ruin etc It's going to take me much longer than that at this rate, but I am very ok with that I'm trying to find everything I can and I usually play slow as hell. Same thing I did with New Vegas when I played the shit out of it.

I see,you chose the "easy" way with the build, which is pretty OK. As usual when i start any RPG for a first time,i did choose a true strength build with two greatswords. It was an amazing stuff, but a bit pita vs some faster bosses. Then made River of Blood build( a ridiculous stuff) ,then Astrologer and so on. The Mage(astrologer) was the real easy mod vs Malenia. River of Blood was close.Every other build is less powerful. The good thing about the heavy swords aside of the cool look and moveset is that they stagger bosses.

I see,you chose the "easy" way with the build, which is pretty OK. So I've heard I kept the Dex going from DS3 where I used the LKS through the whole game. I found the Uchi early and really liked it, but it doesn't stagger as much as Bloodhound's Fang but it's so fast. The R2 Unsheathe attack is dope as hell and staggers bigger enemies reliably enough. I have heard Mage is EZ mode and I'm sure I'll give RoB a try when I find/get it. I have the Moonveil and want to give that a try, but my character is not smart enough lol. I do want to try and Unga Bunga build though so may respec at some point for that.

According to ProtonDB ME3 runs on Linux linky (perfectly after tweaks, apparently). Anyone here tried it? More specifically, has anyone tried and had any success with the MP side of it?

I preordered the upcoming OUTRIDERS Worldslayer Upgrade. I usually never preorder anything but in this case it's not a brand new game but an expansion. I can access it 2 days before the official release and saved 10%. I also really wanted to get some points on Steam to buy a new profile background with it lol.
While I still find the upgrade a bit expensive I'm having a lot of fun with the game and have close to 500 hours playtime, so I'm looking forward to more stuff and what will change. Some people I talked to who participated in the closed beta like it so far. I also didn't spend a single penny on the game so far since I got the base game as a gift from a friend last year.
The last few days I experimented with 2 new builds for the Pyromancer and the Technomancer. Just wish we had loadouts so I wouldn't have to switch gear and reset and respec the class skill tree every time I want to switch between the different builds. Especially with the new content I guess there will be more build variety and things I want to try and occassionally play.
So... I'm usually totally fixated on high DPS glasscannon builds but yesterday I was messing around a bit with an idea and made a tanky cc/heal/debuff build for my Technomancer. What started somewhat as a joke for me -because I was pissed about some (offhost) issues with the meta firepower build- turned into a build that I had a very long series of amazing games with after meeting 2 random player that were such a perfect fit. The team constellation was just such an awesome setup and this build has now become something I really like. Works out nicely in solo play as well.

i have been trying Fallout NV today. Seems fun, but i m lost on how to deal with mean beasts as well as on what to do... I have wandered the land to one quest point (radio signal to be investigated) and always get killed at some point. I lack ammo even if i went back to town to buy everything the shop has to sell. I think i only have few magnum rounds now (all 3-4 other stuff are empty:))
my gal was supposed to be a charisma player with laser guns, maybe i should just try to run past giant scorpion and other shitty stuff. or start with a gun specialist build Had fun though when i took a giant scorpion on two gang members that threw dynamite on it, they all exploded

It's slow to get going and lets you go wherever you want and gives modest guidance so it's possible to end up somewhere you shouldn't. You'll be swimming in ammo as you fight factions, loot shit, and find Gun Runners. Things like Giant Rad Scorpions are beefy and I think have armor so AP ammo is preferred for them. VATS is your friend, Charisma is overrated and generally considered a dump stat. I was never a fan of lasers so I boosted guns and lockpick and science so I could break into things. I have wandered the land to one quest point (radio signal to be investigated) and always get killed at some point. Wait to level up a bit because it's DLC and can be difficult at low level. It's fucking hilarious though and has a lot of those old timey (think 50s and 60s) style sci-fi tropes/vibes and is filled with innuendoes. I'm 95 hours into Elden Ring now and finally, finally beat Nokron after putting it off for a while and am about to head into the capital to see what that's about. I'm not sure if I'm overleveled for it, I probably am a little, but I guess I'll find out. I'm learning too that I missed a lot of stuff as far as quests and NPCs go, can't wait to see what I fuck up as I progress along...I need to start writing shit down

My first run took me 80 hours and i was 132 level i think. Missed Mogh's place and Deep Roots zones, plus many of the optional bosses and caves. There are 165 bosses in the game,so it's easy to miss some If you explore every zone, you will be between 150 and 160 level versus Radagon/Elden Beast.Without grinding ofc. This game is awesome. I still play it after so many runs.

I liked that video just because it has some funny moments when all of a sudden the player runs into several Malenias in really akward spots. And they also scale accordingly to the enemy they are replacing. He obviously doesn't even fight her in most encounters but some fights are really fun to watch.

Unlike other open world games (i.e. Skyrim) the enemies dont' scale to your level, so if you head north to NV immidiately, you face way too many OP enemies. The main quest also sorta suggest you do this. The storyline, NPCs, companions etc. fits together better this way imho. The quests range from the serious/thoughtfull to the hilarious/absurd. A personal favourite of mine and the best in the Fallout franchise.

A personal favourite of mine and the best in the Fallout franchise. Thx for the tips mates. I restarted a game with a gun and agility build. It s almost easy noa and also, i got a grip on that good spring start, it felt far more logic and natural. As larsdt told, I went south, but only have the main quest here it seems in pipp. Went for the lonesome road but got a level 35 warning and went back. I don't know why I have to go to pipp express station about my delivery... So I now forced my way in the convict hotel. Felt I was going to get punished, but I m killing them convicts more easy than coyotes (ai seems dumb or it s them loosing their nerves more than me ). Let's see how it goes. Walking is tedious though. Makes things more frightening. I went for agility thinking it was the ability for a good aim, but it seems it s perception. I should read the wiki about ammos and all small opening stuff games . Also i was hooked coming to pipp, a bit less now but it looks a really neat game

What I have found, with these older games in particular - PS:T, FNV, original DE That, the lack of handholding, that the inner-gamer in me is always screaming for, crushes the modern outer-gamer that I am. I get lost too easily, and I think I am recognizing again thanks to these gaming examples that I have significant ADHD and should probably talk to someone about that. I want to be immersed, but apparently there is a hard limit for me :/ I need to watch a walkthrough of the early game I think... even if it spoils things, I need to get some sense of what I should be doing. Sad.

I get lost too easily, and I think I am recognizing again thanks to these gaming examples that I have significant ADHD and should probably talk to someone about that. I want to be immersed, but apparently there is a hard limit for me :/ That's part of why I love it, and Dark Souls/Elden Ring. No handholding. In the case of DS it is: ring two bells go do it I don't care how. The game tells you where you should and shouldn't go. New Vegas is similar, it tells you where your next objective is and dgaf how you get there or what you explore along the way. You can see the Lucky 38 from the Goodsprings cemetery and find out very quickly you should probably take the long way like you were told instead of b-lining it You're smart enough to figure out if you should be in an area or not. Part of the experience is finding/stumbling into somewhere you shouldn't be and figuring a way out. It's happened in New Vegas and especially Elden Ring, sometimes your best option is to run like Forrest Gump on an 8-ball.

I get it... especially with the Souls games, it seems to me as an outsider looking in that the entire point of those games is "git gud", rinse and repeat. It takes a lot for me to care enough about a game to actually "git gud" at it. I have got gud on exactly two games ever, Street Fighter 2 (all variations) and ME3MP. Sure, I trophied most of my PS3 games like Force Unleashed series, Uncharted series, Batman etc, but that is SP so "git gud" is simply relative to the AI and the difficulty you chose. Knowing the timing of all of Guile's aerial grabs, and how to use the variations of his basic punches by use of directionals, made playing anyone but a serious player an easy Perfect! without a single flash kick. My favorite way to play him was as a fistfighter Each character in that game has lots of hidden moves, the replayability was great because you could git gud with each kit against AI, then test against live opponents and season to taste. Dhalsim man. Anyways... I guess I lost interest in gitting gudr a long time ago, which is why I play RPGs mostly and ended up here with you locos because of this.

Still enjoy playing Stellaris (Console Edition). Last year not so much because for whatever reason, I'd have to self-motivate to boot up the game and was often unsuccessful and played something else instead. These days, I tell myself "just play the goddamn game" and within five minutes I'm having a good time being reminded why I played this game to death in 2019 and 2020.
I dove into XCOM 2 back in February and it's great. Still dicking around in it, will probably stream my first Legend difficulty run later this year. Until then I'll keep trying to get past the first few missions in XCOM: Enemy Unknown... fucking frustrating.
On my PC I got a copy of Homeworld Cataclysm - which is now called Homeworld Emergence thanks to Blizzard being pieces of shit - and it's very enjoyable. Looking forward to Homeworld 3 later on. I hope I can stream that as I have been saving up to buy a new PC next spring.
What else? No Man's Sky is fun to jump back into once in a while on my PS4...
Can't think of anything else interesting to babble about.

I've been struggling with Corona the past few days. Not being able to smell or taste stuff sucks. Thankfully I've been playing a few games on PC to distract myself. I got the Crash n'sane trilogy and the Spyro trilogy a few days back as part of a steam sale. Great games, look amazing in 4k 60FPS and Crash 1 is just as hard as I remember.
Aside from that I have been playing Resident evil 6 co-op with my brother. Its a pretty bad resident evil game by most standards but its oddly enough a pretty good co-op game.

Besides playing the OUTRIDERS addon and grinding my ass off I have played other games in coop with a good friend the last few weeks. We played REMNANT: FROM THE ASHES quite a bit and will definitely get back to that one, beating higher difficulties, doing survival mode for the last remaining achievements and trying out a mod that was done by some veteran players. It's a really nice game. Recently we also played THE ASCENT which is also a great game and at times gives me some ME2 Omega vibes.

Too bad they scrubed it with the second part. It follows the souls-borne formula, but with the guns. I had much fun playing it. The second game on the other hand, was downgrade in every aspect.
