Hi all - newbie here

I was mostly a lurker on the old forums after a kind employee at my local GameStop recommended the DA:O Ultimate Edition and I was instantly hooked - to the point I ran out and bought DA2 and the Mass Effect Trilogy some months later. I eventually drifted away because of school, internships, work, and me being really slow when it comes to video games. Found out the old forums were closing through someone I follow on Tumblr, so I lurked and found this place.

I want all the icing! 

I'm not sure I follow, you consider permanent bans extreme? 

I loved it. I think I might actually be satisfied with my first playthrough as my canon Inquisitor which is a blessing since I won't have another 122 hours to blow any time soon (although I doubt I would take as long now).

Like most DA games, I found the difficulty to be wildly variable. It started out satisfying, then I started running into things that could squish me like a bug, and then somewhere around the early teens with a Specialization and crafted masterwork gear most things became a ROFLSTOMP. I played a DW rogue and usually took Cassandra, Iron Bull and switched between Solas and Dorian for my mage. Even the Dragons I mostly chumped, which was a little disappointing. The only Dragons I had trouble with were the one on Storm Coast, Hakkon Wintersbreath and the one at the end of Trespasser.

Although a few normal encounters were legitimately challenging, mostly notably the Darkspawn waves in The Descent and the Saarebas battles in Trespasser. The way the Corypheus fight is designed I don't think even Nightmare could make that very hard. The final battle against the Red Templars at the trebuchet in Haven was a big pain in the ass too.

I think I only had trouble with the first dragon I tried to kill, the one in the Hinterlands. Maybe because I was a noob.. I can't really remember the rest.

Oh yeah don't get me started on the Corypheus battle. I'm not there yet in my current nightmare playthrough so I might feel otherwise this time around, but in my first playthrough it was over way too fast. I remember thinking "what the ****. That's it"? It was a bit anticlimatic. I still love the game though!! The Haven battle by the trebuchet felt okay on nightmare - I died a few times, but I got by without going into ragemode I just closed the rift in the flooded caves in Crestwood though, that was a lot harder. I could really do without those stupid terrors. God I hate them, so annoying with their jumping out of the ground and ambushing me all the effing time.

Like you, I'm also satisfied with my first playthrough as my canon inquisitor (a DW rogue dwarf), but I still want to do a playthrough with all races, and try out the different builds. Nerd alert. So to sum it up, I have a lot of gaming to do..

I joined Cassandra's board as well but it seems like a graveyard compared to here. Was there some kind of giant flame war? I'm not familiar with her from BSN.
