And SOOOOOOTHIE ANWAR being the new EDI for you (although, why not SAM?)
I'll spare you my initial impressions, but take a listen.

Good and relaxing, I like that soundtrack for the galaxy map.

It doesn't sound terrible, but it lacks personality and isn't memorable whatsoever, unlike the Galaxy Map from the trilogy.

Physically moving to each planet looks really cool, but I kinda hope we can speed it up, it might get old after the first 30 times.

I already wrote my impressions in the comments to the video. Overall, it's not bad but I'm not impressed because the music sounds like a timid imitation of the Galaxy Map music and it does not inspire me because it sounds like it's trying not to be noticed too much. It lacks complex intersections of arpeggios and harmonies. It has the tone but it does nothing special with it.
The map itself looks fine but I'm generally distracted by the busy and somewhat inconsistent UI design for this game and as I said in the past, it reminds me of Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric's UI and I'm not even joking about that.
It looks good, but let's not start handing out medals. It's just good enough and not much else.

Might have been on purpose to make it seem familiar to old ME fans while still be new for new fans, but it helps to have a different opinion in this case so they know how people feel about the music and maybe make a tweak or two if not in this game then in the future,

It doesn't sound terrible, but it lacks personality and isn't memorable whatsoever, unlike the Galaxy Map from the trilogy. I didn't even remember that the Galaxy Map has music in the trilogy and I replayed ME1 and ME2 less than 3 months ago (for like the 10th time)... the music probably wasn't as memorable as you think it was.

Actually, the map reminds me a bit of the original ME1 map; the one from the early trailers with all the stuff Bio cut before launch.

This is actually something I thought of before too when we saw the first glimpses of it in the TGA footage. All i know is, I'm glad we're no longer plaining miniature "fly the ship" minigame whenever we're inside a system because that got really lame and I always missed the ME1 version more.

I hated how vague the ME1 map was about your ship's actual position, so I thought ME2 was an upgrade.
None of the maps were conceptually very good. You have to orbit a planet to read what's in the computer about it?

Why does the new EDI have a scottish accent?. Its some interesting flavour added there instead of the more typically flat, cold robotic voice.
But regarding the galaxy map and new theme... I really like how the galaxy map looks this time. The added detail suits the space faring vibe much better than the more barebones, basic map in the original trilogy. So good job there. Sadly i cant say the same for the new theme. It sounds weak imo, like its trying hard to be like the orginal galaxy map theme but not quite. Also its too much in the background as well. Tbh they might as well just have copy and pasted the old galaxy map theme, i wouldve been much happier with that. After all why fix what wasnt broken to begin with?. The original theme still sounds awesome to this day. Its a classic piece of video game and science fiction music at this point(so much so that many space and general science documentaries often use it. I mean i was watching a BBC Horizon space doc that used the galaxy map theme, i heard it in there and it really fitted the whole vibe well). They shouldve just stuck with it in Andromeda. They're never going to top it really. So why bother with an inferior piece of music.

You have to orbit a planet to read what's in the computer about it? In ME1 the map felt like an actual HUD that Shepard was using from his ship. In ME2/3 it felt like a quirky minigame that had no place in the in-universe reality because of the way it zooms to the map but then it's actually an exterior view of the Normandy from lightyears away (if you have to explain it rationally)

Really similar, but slightly more upbeat - feels in line with the style of game Andromeda is: I think it's great. People wanting 'instantly memorable' stuff always confuses me......the trilogy had many years to get engraved into our heads as memorable, you need to let the cheese get to room temperature before it tastes and smells memorable IMO.

That is true. Same goes with the rather dry script for the beginning and heavy expository writing. All things aside, the writing in the opening hours of ME1 never sounded natural to me either, but if it turns out Andromeda has a sick twist or an amazing final mission then your whole view of the game changes and you'll suddenly look on the jankier elements of it with a newfound appreciation becuase you know it's part of a better package.

I'm ecstatic this is so much better than the bull**** Normandy "flying" minigame in ME2/ME3...
I'm so glad they took feedback on board to delete that and instead go down this route.
It looks like a proper improvement on the ME1 galaxy map, and even better than the galaxy map in the old x06 ME1 trailer:
