As someone who lives in Toronto.
This meant a lot to me to see a character from the city represented in a video game.

Hopefully for his sake, Andromeda is free of armed Trumpanzees.

I'm glad ME is including some of this religious and spiritual demographic.
Not because I agree with it. Aha no, I'm strongly atheist and only technically agnostic as a matter of course.
But because this is how I imagine an at least generally positive future for humanity will be in over a hundred years from now (unless something much more shocking like the Singularity comes true).
Sure I hope creationism is pushed further and further away from repute, but I also don't think basic ideas of it are necessarily wrong in all ways, and I can certainly see a minority of people believing it wholeheartedly and it not interfering with their duties, imagination otherwise, and like in Suvi's case, scientific inquiry.
Sure I think Sikh communities and people may increasingly secularize and change and adapt to a changing mainstream, over the course of decades, generations, but I don't think all of them will and I think there's always those people that decide to take up older traditions again as valuable and worth preserving (at least some form).
And all of what I said here is likely rather Western and Canadian-centric, and I have to keep in mind the influences of both a growing global community and a century of unknown (though trying to be predictable for the sake of a story) changes.
When the trilogy basically almost totally left it up to Ashley "Hey you, God rite?", yeah, I was disappointed.
That said, what wouldn't break boundaries in media, to me, wouldn't be seeing already secular, religious (even of minority religions), ambiguous, or even already atheist characters... but ex-religious. Ex-Christians. Ex-Muslims. Ex-Sikh, etc. That's the untouchable, most often, IMO (and no, you see Ex-Atheists in lots of stories, 'turning to God' is very common).

For what it's worth, on the Xbone version of State of Decay you'd unlock a Sikh lady to play in all modes if you have save data from the 360 version. It doesn't come up due to the game being light on plot, but I felt it worth mentioning.
