I'm going to get the negatives out of the way first. I am honestly surprised that you guys released the character creator in its current form. Particularly due to the fact that the majority of your games have a better one (including the original mass effect). The facial features are way off,especially the eyes. I was unable to create a custom character that I liked, they all look really bad to be quite honest. It's kind of odd, because the environment and everything else looks amazing, and the characters themselves (so far) just kind of stick out like a sore thumb.
The cover system when it works is great, the problem is that you don't always take cover when you're near an object and it can really mess you up. I kind of prefer the old system (if it isn't broke, don't try and fix it?).
I'm on the fence how Ryder presents himself, I understand why you guys chose to go a different direction, but I don't have that same feeling like I did with the first 3. I felt like a badass playing Shepherd, but with Ryder his overall tone and acting a lot younger isn't really getting me hooked. This may change when I play the full game
While I have a few more issues, I want to fully play the game before I express them.
Now onto the positives
Combat overall is a huge leap, it looks and plays great, you guys really nailed it on this one, I was very hesitant when I first learned of the jet pack but I quickly fell in love within minutes.
Multiplayer is great, aside from connection issues which I expect to be fixed
Story so far is really interesting, and I have a feeling I'm going to really enjoy it, I also like the characters that I've met so far.
Black Isle studios and bioware are what got me into rpgs. I have been immersed in your games for years, and while I realize making these games are expensive, I'm really starting to see a lot of short cuts being taken in the past few games that you've made. I do hope this trend stops. Look back into what made you guys the king of rpgs, don't lose that magic. I want my son to enjoy your games as much as I have.

I liked the most of the parts of the game, but there are several things that I didn't:
- free camera during conversation In some conversation, they put us on the 3rd person view camera where we can move the camera around, without being able to move the character. And sometimes, they put it in strange position to see the conversation awkwardly. For example, when you checked on the wall of information after you woke up.
- new dialog wheel It does feel this game is really a console port. Now the dialog selection doesn't move when we moved the mouse, but we have to directly select the option with the mouse pointer
- the map Press 'M' to access the map.. I thought I can exit the map by pressing another 'M', but I was wrong. Press 'Esc' twice to go back to your game. Annoying.

Five hours in.
Bad:
CC, as with everyone. The lack of ability to choose features is really awful. I chosen an asian preset, but couldn't change her downturned mouth or nose, which I could have in every other ME game, and I believe all DA games (might be mis-remembering on DA:Origins).
Writing: as with another writer I felt some logical responses were missing, as when someone was telling me to prove myself - that person did not seem to have the right to judge me given their screwups and failures, and when I took the lead (a nepotistic decision on the part of the person who made it, and I felt a mixture of love, gratitude and anger was appropriate.)
Cover does seem sometimes a little hard to get into, but I may become used to it.
Graphics: the pre-rendered scenes stuttered for me. My cpu is just barely up to snuff, but my video card is over spec. CPU was running at 100% at the start of the game, but settled down below that once it was underway. Heat spiked massively on the GPU. This may say more about my system than the game, but I have been able to run other games with similar graphics w/o difficulty.
The menus are not good, too nested. In particular the nesting of the objectives menu was very annoying, requiring multiple clicks to get to side quests and multiple escapes to get out. Not being able to open and close things by just clicking their letter (M, J) is annoying. The game feels a little too like it was made with a visual editor and standard GUI stand-ins, if that makes sense, also has a bit of "really made for controller, or controller compromise" feeling.
Saves: yeah, not a fan of the critical path auto-saving. Even more irritating is the lack of an F5 quicksave in regions that allow quick saving, it seems like such a small thing to do.
Good
The writing is fine, in places good, the plot is fine overall, I like the NPCs overall, again my only issue is a mild one with my own character.
The combat feels fluid. Cooldowns on powers feel a bit slow, but I haven't evolved them enough to know if I can play a power based character as before. Being unable to order my team-mates to use powers seems to mitigate against power based builds, since I can't ensure everyone has powers ready when needed.
The world feels mass-effecty, I like the feeling of being in space and I like that people have to wear helmets, no ridiculous costumes in vacuum a la ME2.
Problematic (update)
There appears to be a memory leak. Got severe slowdown and a freeze. Restarting the game did not fix, but restarting computer did.
Overall I've enjoyed it, and am looking forward to playing more. I have said so on social media, so the negative feedback should be taken in that light.

Ya'll are going to be flooded with feedback so I will be concise to speed things along. Scanning: Interesting feature, but perhaps allow for Ryder to sprint/run/jump while scanning is active. Environments are large and it can take longer and be quite tedious after a while. Don't sell the feature short and make people dislike it because it becomes a chore. Inside S.A.M Node: During conversation with S.A.M (XboxOne) resolution for S.A.M's 'body'/sphere becomes distorted and blurred in quadrants. Camera movement: Unclear if this is actually a feature that can be turned on/off or if this is some sort of setting, but when Ryder is outside of dialogue the camera continuously moves. Nexus, Tempest, Habitat 7. It is never still. During combat that was intensely aggravating (recoil is one thing and I don't mind that, but having a PC that may as well have Parkinson's is another thing entirely). Dialogue: I am crossing my fingers that dialogue is clipped merely because this is early access or it improves as the story progresses. Played Scott Ryder and the limited 2 options at the start was a disappointment but understandable. However when more options (flavors) supposedly emerged, it was more than a disappointment. Where is the bite/sarcasm/anger/wit, I don't know, anything, other than I am diplomatic/polite. It was varying degrees of lackluster diplomacy. Not Early Access related so can be disregarded. Concerning Romance instead. Please do not allow whining and moaning to change your decisions for your characters. Believe in the choice you guys decided on, there was a legitimate reason why you went the way you did. The character you took the time to so painstakingly craft and mold should come first while the never-ending crying of gamers should be second. Your characters will sell so long as you keep your vision and don't twist it simply so that 'everyone is happy'. Those that adamantly deny otherwise, well, you can always send them a picture of a mug full of tears and what success looks like .

Honestly, the character creator sucks. Bad. The ridiculous wheel mechanic for eye colors, etc.. feels like it was inspired by a bad acid trip. Sliders and text input fields for RGB values would be much easier and more intuitive to work with. It's practically impossible to get two values that are the same between inner and outer eye color, much less land on a value you want with any degree of reliability. Trying to get lips to match the color on the wheel is an exercise in futility. - Tat and scar options are meager at best. - Hair styles are uninspired and lacking in depth, with the majority falling into the 'short & boring' category. You have numerous options for bald and buzz cuts, and next to nothing for longer styles, even on the females. I am, however, impressed that the hair seems to have physics to some degree, rather than being another helmet on the characters head. - Slider options for nearly every facial feature are anemic at best. They feel like they were a cut & paste job at the last minute to beat a deadline. - Hair colors, for the most part, look like spray paint. Trying to get a red, blonde or other non-brown or black color results in something that looks like someone sprayed paint over flour. There's a white layer under the color that distorts it and makes it look like colored static on an old tube TV. - Eyebrows. LOL. I think someone forgot those exist, and that they might actually be the same color as the rest of your hair. - Facial animations remind me of 70's era claymation. The characters from the 'Thunderbirds are GO!' TV series would feel comfortable on the Nexus talking to the Pathfinder. - Human face textures seem plastic/waxy. I'm not entirely sure if the characters are actually alive, or if they're Memorex. Other stuff: - Save mechanic is balls. PC players don't want to be second rate console players. Forcing a lame console mechanic on PC players is just lazy, and shows that you don't listen or care. We've been complaining about that for years, what's it take to get through? - Scrolling in the Codex, etc.. is terrible. More often than not, when you get close to the end of an entry, it jumps back up a line or 3, so you can't read the last line(s). - Holding 'E' down for every interaction with objects is just a flagrant, in-your-face, time sink that has no apparent purpose other than to annoy people. Another one of those idiotic console 'mechanics' that no one cares for. - The scanning tool is slick, but tedious as hell. Especially when you're getting your ass kicked by lightning and other environmental factors while trying to determine what, if anything, is necessary to scan. - Motion blur could use some toning down. Disabling it completely would be a nice option to have. - NPCs don't seem to know how to speak with the character. At times, they seem to be talking to someone floating above you, at other times they appear to be contemplating your navel. It's particularly odd, given that there are no height sliders (that I noticed) in character creation that would account for this. - Console game mechanics in a PC game. Seriously, WTF... If we wanted to play a console game, we wouldn't have built our PCs. Pros: - Exploration. I love that there's a lot to do and look for. Even when it's linear, it doesn't always feel linear. - The cutscenes are slick as hell. Coming out of the well and up to the Arks was spectacular and gave you a sense of the grand scope of the mission. - Combat is fairly well done. The other party members are at times lacking in self direction when left alone, but for the most part it's really fun. Not quite up to the standards of ME2 in that regard, but it's not as bad as SWTOR was early on either. - Landscapes, space and ship interiors are amazing. The Nexus isn't quite the Citadel, but then we haven't seen all of it yet either, so I'm not going to knock it. - Banter between characters is fun to listen to. I especially like how they're 'aware' of the environment we're in, and where we've been. I totally missed the ledge where the Pathfinder was watching the alien installation, and went further down the trail. When I figured out where I messed up, it was nice to see the characters actually include those areas in the dialogue. - The story, thus far, is engaging and keeps you interested. Haven't tried the MP yet. I probably won't, TBH. I wasn't impressed with how chaotic and disjointed the MP was in ME3, and from what I've seen in other posts, it's not much improved. I've never been a fan of halfheartedly tacking on a game mode just for the sake of being able to advertise something as 'multiplayer', especially when it's done so poorly. Numerous people running around spamming weapons fire at everything in sight, whether it moves or not, isn't particularly interesting, it's chaos. Overall, I think the game needs a bit of polish, especially with that travesty you foisted off on us as a character creator. It's more like editing a wax mannequin, which is disappointing given how important that aspect of the game is for players. With a little attention and work, the vast majority of things people are finding negative can be turned positive. The game, so far, is impressive, but the lack of detail on so many things really detracts from what could be an amazing experience.

The facial animations for the Ryders is still off. They frequently seem to have no connection between different sections of their face, like their eyes and brows don't move at all when smiling or asking a question. Looks incredibly unnatural and it's only the Ryders who seem to have this issue.
Next up is the woeful character customisation, it feels half done and missing a lot of options. Almost all the facial hairs for broryder look absolutely aweful, why can't I just have a normal beard or goatee, they're all missing a chunk of where the hair should be. The buzzcut looks more like I've had the world's worst hair implants and cut them down to a stub.
The facial customisation has so little options you'll have a very hard time making the horrendously ugly custom characters look different. You can't change the nose shape, you can't change the eye brows, you can't change the eye slant, hell you can't even change the general face shape. I really don't understand why Ubi have completely bollocked this... I spent an hour trying to make my character not look like a complete tool before I gave up and went with the male underwear model instead.
Onto the positives, the combat is great fun, you can run and gun or be slow and tactical, which I was worried I wouldn't be able to do, but there's plenty of cover. The skill system is pretty solid and the gunplay/powerplay is really nice. The Nomad is incredibly fun to use and really satisfying to drive, but the mining is a little frustrating. The research and crafting is nice, has the best parts from DA:I in there, love the segmented armour options.
Overall, I love the game, but it's hurt by the lacklustre main character facial animations and frankly garbage character creator, I really, really want them to patch this or at least add some non-ugly as hell preset faces....like my god..they seriously look like they fell out of the ugly tree, hit every branch coming down, then after landing were beaten with the ugly stick and thrown into traffic.

Did anybody manage to change the colour of their casual outfit successfully? I tried five times but it just kept changing back to white, so I gave up. oh god yeah took me forever but I managed it. Press enter when you are done with each colour option then escape when u have them all the way u want to leave the screen and it keeps the changes but there is nothing that says to do that. Needs a patch.

Three hours in, playing on PC with a controller. Currently would rate the game a 9/10 and am excited to get more into it tomorrow after work! Here's what I can say so far:
The Good -Loving the writing so far. It's every bit as great as the original trilogy. Note, I consider writing (dialogue, characters, etc.) to be different from story (plot). -Characters. So far loving them. I thought Liam was going to be another Jacob, but so far he's proven me wrong. Cora isn't what I expected; honestly thought she'd be a bit like Miranda. But still, good so far. Still early though. -Combat is excellent! Feels far more fun than the trilogy. Enemy AI seems improved and I actually felt far more pressed than I'm used to feeling in Mass Effect. I did see some derpiness on a few occasions, where AI would repeatedly hop over cover, back and forth. Other than that, looks good. -Graphics look good. I started playing at 50% download, so I'm sure some things were still loading in (some hair textures were downright bad on non-critical characters). I have a decent PC, and playing the game at ultra settings at 1080p is pressing it, though I swear it's the CPU that's struggling, not the GPU. -I think the dialogue choices are good so far. Actually, they seem more meaningful than the average trilogy dialogue option. Not sure why anyone would really complain about this. ME - ME3 usually only had a paragon or renegade option, with sometimes a neutral option that no one uses. In ME:A, you get 2 - 4 choices; sounds good to me! Maybe people are lamenting the lack of "more detail" choices? -I'm very interested in the story so far, but too soon to judge that!
Needs Improvement -Movement feels clunky at times. Almost feels like The Witcher 3 before they offered the alternative movement setting. You get hung up on obstacles sometimes, the walking/running animation stops and you have to get your momentum again. Doesn't feel great. -I'm okay with the scanning mechanic, but wish it didn't slow down your aiming so much. I'm thinking it'll get tedious after awhile unless Bioware speeds it up. -It's a little difficult to find lootable objects. I wish they were highlighted.... -Animations are better than I thought they'd be (aka, they're not distracting). But could still use some tune up. -The non-cinematic dialogue camera bothers me. I prefer the way they did it in the original trilogy. Either lock me into the conversation and focus the camera on the speaker's face or allow me to walk around while listening. Don't lock me in an over-the-shoulder view. -How the hell do I pause cutscenes??? This is critical for me as I'm often interrupted.
Other -I don't spend a lot of time in the CC, so I may be biased in saying it's fine. -Still getting used to the cover system. I think it's going to be good. Right now it's about on par with the old system. Will see if it gets more familiar after additional game time. -Haven't encountered any bugs yet! <knock on wood>

For me I am really loving the game so far, 6 hours or so in. Combat is fun and more engaging to me, characters are like-able so far, I am really interested in just diving in and truly losing myself in the game.
Sadly though I only have 3 hours or so left and the desert world destroys my computer even though the auto detect puts all my settings at high, unless I am looking at a wall or a place that is blocking my view of other areas a lot my fps is maybe17-20, even on low settings my fps is only 40-50 on average. Don't know if the auto detect settings is working at the moment or not but it definitely didn't work for me.
I am running i5-3570k OCed to 4.7ghz, 2x GTX 970 SLI, 16 Gigs of DDR3, heres hoping the game runs better at launch.

Just don't treat this like Mass Effect 4 and it'll serve you well. It starts of a little slow but after 3 hours it felt a lot like Mass Effect 1 with 3's combat system. The graphics are ok and nothing special but that's anyway not why you play those games. The animations could be better, no question, but they don't deserve the hate they get, especially when i look at Horizon Zero Dawn. The CC is a huge step backwards from what we had in inquisition. But this was no final built and for that it runs with just one "bug" i encountered. I fell of the map while using the jet pack excessively, no big deal. So with a better CC this game looks pretty solid.

Possible bug. I played for about 2 hours straight, on PC> After a while everything started moving in slow motion.Running, shooting, driving the nomad.. Happened erlier today too.
Quitting the game and restarting cleared it, but I can;t help but think its not very well optimized for PC at least.

Well before I get to dumping on it, I wanna say that other than the below, I am having fun...or was. However:
1. As everyone else has said, CC is terrible. Not sure about the female ones, but all the male presets were ugly, and I could only do so much to change that, due to their skin looking like rubber. Also, what the hell is with the eye color selector thingy? No idea how to work that thing, was trying for blue eyes, but the closest I could get was grey. Just give us bunch of selections like hair color had.
2. Minor gripe, why bother giving us another main weapon halfway through the opening if we can't equip it? I was really happy to get it as it was my preferred weapon type, but I was stuck with what I already had for the rest of the mission.
3. Until a few minutes ago, this was my big complaint: It seems to be impossible to shoot around the left side of cover. Lean around the right side and take a few shots, sure. Pop up and take a shot over cover, yep. Try to peek around the left side, big fat NO, and you find yourself either popping up again if the cover is short enough, or aiming at the cover if it isn't. Why can't my character flip around and shoot around the left side? This should be basic for a cover shooter, BioWare. Fix this.
4. So my new biggest complaint: I played for over 3 hours with no technical problems got through the opening and explored the hub area, framerate was fine. But once I left the hub area, I suddenly had stuttering, and upon getting to the planet (first big story mission after the opening, trying to remain spoiler free), my framerate became unplayably low. No idea what the problem is, as I said no problems up to that point. Hoping this gets patched for release.

Reloading save fixed only temporarily, hard restart is needed otherwise. Also got infinite loading screen while first entering Tempest from ramp cutscene

Here's my post 3 hour thoughts:
- The CC is an issue for all the reasons everyone else has already said. Besides those reasons I don't understand why some of the more 'artsy' makeup choices need to be there, especially since there are either 1 normal choice or no normal choices besides them. All the way up to the eyebrow isn't how people actually put on eyeshadow. And i'm wanting some dark unnatural colors among all the neon, like a maroon or a dark purple. That and a very light cotton candy pink/rose gold.
- Overall I feel like none of the player character options (presets or defaults) actually look like they're 22 years old. At best they look 28 or 29 and while 6 or 7 years isn't a big number it keeps me from really getting the impression the Ryders are young adults who are new to all of this. Also the humans look a little plastic in terms of skin.
- We should be able to choose if our Dad looks like us or if we have the default face. I like the default face much better since it's clear a lot more design time went into it then the others.
- The animations weren't as bad for me as people are saying. Some emotional animations were a bit too 'big' but they weren't terrible. I could use a few more microexpressions but compared to past Bioware games they're good.
-Settings wise I had some frame rate drops, some stuttering and lagging in cut scenes and some weird black flashes over one cut scene in particular. My computer exceeds the minimum specs and I'm running it at the auto detected settings except for texture quality. I also turned off the chromatic thing and film grain to try and lighten the load. Towards the end of my 3 hours everything seemed to warm up and settle down but they were noticeable.
- We definitely need to be able to either quicksave or manually save at any time outside of combat.
- I picked female Ryder and so far I adore the voice acting. Honestly right now Fryda and Tom are the best main character performances Bioware has ever had.
-Combat's good so far, though I don't play these games for the combat.
- ALSO when Ryder had their skydiving adventure and cracked their helmet on the landing I wish they'd duct taped their helmet instead of repairing it with onmi tool magic. Mark Watney's not above duct tape and neither is Ryder!
I have more feedback on the first mission but Ian asked for no spoilers so I'll be posting those thoughts in the unofficial feedback thread.

I've played 7-ish hours and have gotten to the end of the critical path. Two things I am very grateful for: being able to make a nice looking, truly Asian face and Sara's natural, mocapped walk/run animation (No more DA2 "sexy run," THANK GOD!). Thank you so much! I am in the uncomfortable position of having mixed feelings, when I really wanted to outright love this game. Things I like: 1) Combat. It's fun and fast but not too fast. 2) Visuals. Very pretty! 3) Obvious attempts to overcome the shortcomings of previous games. Better sidequests, no more creeper "eavesdropping Shepard/Hawke" stuff, faster Mako, more exploration, less scanning, fewer things to pick up, return of custom face sharing ability, skippable dialogue (for the fourth time you play an area). Thank you for taking criticisms on board! 4) Much of the sound design, especially transportation (shuttle, tram, Tempest, jetpack). 5) Jetpack is fun! 6) More banter, mo bettah! 7) The game keeping track of what Ryder has said/done. This is really nice and a good way to organically make us believe we are putting our stamp on the world. Kudos! 8) VA work is top notch. Things I am wary of: 1) I think this game could turn out like the Hinterlands mk II for unfortunate people like me with OCD tendencies or for people who are looking for that "perfect/completionist" playthrough. Seeing all the quest markers piling up, seeing huge open maps, feeling even more pressure to pick up rocks because there are fewer of them, seeing timers on the militia table, and seeing giant nested crafting menus simultaneously add stress and grind, which isn't exactly relaxing. I know the things are optional, but for some of us it is hard to walk away from them even when they aren't adding to our enjoyment. (Some of us almost need to be protected from ourselves, lol.) I think getting out ahead of it this time PR-wise will help. You need a "PSA, if you don't do crafting or militia stuff, you won't be penalized and BTW, you can't do and see everything, so stop trying and stressing about it. There is no perfect playthrough, so get over it!" 2) On a related note, my Ryder's face is a little off, but after 3 hours of playing I'm like "Nah, I just don't feel like playing those 3 hours again just to fix it" which is an ominous sign for me, because that means I probably won't play this game more than once. (If I can't work up the enthusiasm to play 3 hours again, how will I get excited to play 100+ hours again once I finish?) It's hard to put my finger on exactly why. I think this game has gone the route of ADD MORE of the things that people have liked in the past, but there's so much of everything that it's hard to feel like one is making progress. When I had a quest to talk to several people and I saw each one had 5 dialogue options (MORE ROLEPLAYING!) it made me feel a little tired, especially since the added autodialogue meant it wasn't just 5 snappy Q&A, but 5 mini conversations for each one. I like roleplaying, and 5 convo options never bothered me before, so not sure why this time it felt like it took forever. Possibly because in the past we were only sent to talk to one person before we knew we needed to talk to anyone else, whereas this one is "Boom, you're gonna talk to 5 people now" up front. 3) I don't like the compass at the top of the screen. It isn't explicit enough about where to go for each quest because it can only give left right direction but not elevation, even with the stairs icon. The ME3 markers for close by objectives were much more intuitive. 4) So much driving when I'm so bad at controlling the Nomad. 5) The probe mining/driving minigame. I know it's optional. 6) The dialogue options don't seem to make Ryder vastly different. I think I'm choosing the wrong ones/too many different kinds (mostly logical/professional with strangers and emotional/casual with squad/family) because my Sara seems bland. Maybe I should just choose one tone more consistently to make her more extreme instead of trying to be contextual. Things that could add to my enjoyment for future games if not this one (some may already be in this one): 1) Steering the Nomad with mouse on PC rather than with A and D. That would be much less frustrating and more fun. 2) Toggling in and out of map with M. A minimap in the UI. Simplified menus and menu navigation. Less clicking. 3) Being able to name my saves and save more often. 4) Being able to keep default Alec's face or change custom Alec's complexion to match the custom PC's rather than having it default to the preset's complexion. Maybe I want to be adopted. 5) Less back and forth travel (running back and forth from SAM to X's room seemed like unnecessary filler). 6) I wish the gun/combat sounds were more similar to ME3. Why is my Avenger not making the iconic Avenger noise? Combat in ME3 sounded great and made it very easy to pinpoint where enemies were. I haven't tried MP yet, but I'm not sure it will be the same in MEA. Ammo boxes should be louder to let me know when I'm actually picking up something. 7) No expiration of militia missions and make completion time short (no more than 2 hours real time). 8) Changing dated flappy arm animations that are obviously not mocapped because the hands are super stiff. 9) I found my custom Sara's eyes didn't bother me because her irises were dark. Changing unimportant NPC's eyes to dark brown might ameliorate the "dead eyes" complaint. 10) Keeping tutorial popups visible a little longer. I missed a few and still don't know how to get back to the Tempest from groundside. I need to look it up but the thought of sifting through menus to find the info makes me just drive around longer instead. 11) Simplifying crafting so we can upgrade existing weapons without having to find a new blueprints, keeping crafting menus shorter by having one line for Carnifex rather than a line each for Carnifex I, Carnifex II, Carnifex III, etc. 12. Tapping E instead of holding except in the case of reviving squaddies where some real time price is expected. 13. Improved Turian face textures. I am definitely going to buy this game, because the things I like I enjoy very much. Even if I only play it once I'm sure to be entertained for 100+ hours. Just please remember in future that more isn't always better even though gamers like to use a "dollar spent per hour of gameplay" metric. Like the damage over time bug in ME3MP's dark sphere, the same amount of joy spread out over 100 hours isn't better than having 40 hours of concentrated joy.

Not sure if this has been mentioned or is even worth mentioning but Lexi had a conversation with Drack, with Cora also chiming in, on the Tempest over the intercom as if he was already recruited but he wasn't. I've got the same problem. I even got an email that mentions a character I haven't even met yet let alone got on the Tempest.

Overall very good so far Mouse cursor issue. Had it just appear dead center of screen and kind of hang there for awhile before going away. While on Ark Hyperion. Also seemed to be issue with chat wheel and cursor again. When only two chat choices and both at top of wheel. It was auto picking one before I could even try to make a choice. This happened on Hyperion and on Habitat7 maybe 4 times.

I was a huge ME fanboy. Not anymore.
The lack of saves in priority missions and no quick save are deal breakers. Real life requires being able to get up from the PC whenever, and sadly, is also more important than a computer game (I know...it depresses me too). Add in the the NotFun of having to replay sections of a game because crash/bug/whatever, and ya, no game that doesn't allow me to save whenever will ever get my money.
Seriously, I cancelled my pre-order over just that issue while I was playing the trial.
Then the whole CC fiasco. I mean, seriously? Who the frak slapped that together? Champions Online, an 8 year old, free-to-play, generic MMO has infinitely better character creation that ME:A which is supposed to be a AAA title?
I could also add my voice to the animation fiasco, but as there are now a bazillion or so (I might be exaggerating a bit, but not much) vids/gifs showing how bad this is, I'm pretty sure everyone's got it.
The massive dumbing down of combat. ME1 let me give orders, choose weapons, order powers, and whatnot for my companions. By the time you get to ME3, you could orchestrate beautiful combos and setups with your companions. Now, you can send your companion off somewhere to die. Because at any difficulty more than normal, that's really all they're good for. (I'm so gonna miss using lift on enemies that Garrus could then skeet shoot with his sniper rifle...)
Anyway, playing the early access of ME:A was even more disappointing than realizing that red/green/blue was more important to the end of the saga than anything I'd actually done while playing the game back in ME3.
Alas poor Bioware, I knew thee well...

I want more options with the character creation, it is so limited I want all the sliders like in dark souls or some other game hmmm lets all think about what games have good character creation tools like idk black desert....with what they give us in andromeda i might as well just play default even tho i never like using default anything....like seriously Bio ware step it up what are you guys some cheap Chinese web browser game developers be ashamed ......come on now bio ware where is your pride where is your commitment to the game and the people who want to play the game...Finally those animations and like the other guy said none mocapped arms! come now stop smoking so much pot and dope that you think what you are giving us is what we want......i am glad we can vent our opinions and interest here tho, but i have serious doubts that any of this will change before launch with just how lazy and unmotivated towards the game i feel the developers are being with this ... give us those damned saves...let us save any where outside of combat cause of the what if effect....

I like the game but there's a lot of bugs and framerate issues, makes u wonder what the testers team where doing... CC is average, there's 2 only good presets for Sara and 1 for Scott. The companions are pretty cool, better than the ones in Dai. The dialogue options are somewhat bland, Ryder lacks a bit of charisma. Multiplayer is unplayable at least for me, always freezing. And i had the weirdest bug, i rolled a new char and the game thought i was right after the first mission. So they talked like Alec had died already and had a lot of glitches like this game screenshot, wtf. imgur.com/dp0fKMAI think the game should have been delayed it's a glitch fest, but underneath lies a good game.

Okay, the problem with the overlapping dialogues is getting really annoying. Ambient dialogue is triggered by proximity, and dialogues don't wait for other dialogues to finish before they start, which means that if you enter an area with multiple NPCs who all have some lines, they'll all start talking at once. This was especially annoying when I first got to the Nexus, because everyone was in such close quarters.
Surely it wouldn't be too hard to make it so that only one dialogue can be playing at any given time?

Not sure if this has been reported yet, but a few times while moving by Tram it would play the cut scene and then... not load the next area. It would just hang on the screen showing the empty tunnel. I'd be forced to tab to my other monitor and close the game, just to discover that the Trial's .exe was, in fact, still running. Probably not too bad a bug if we're talking unrestricted release, but it ate a few minutes of my sweet, sweet play time.
Also, are those long cut scenes between planets actually for anything? I mean, the planets are fairly detailed but come on... If we're ballparking a modest average of five planets a system, this is going to get old fast!

Spent half the day without internet so I couldn't play beyond the opening hour but I have a few immediate technical tidbits to request (playing on PC here): - Fix the scrolling. I was reading a 5-paragraph Codex entry and I had to scroll for 30 seconds to get it to the bottom because every scroll only took the text down one line or so. When entries get long the ratio, or system (whatever you call it) you have made for scrolling with a mouse gets in the way. - The Journal is confusing to use. instead of automatically going to the latest objective I would rather like if it went to the main screen with the folders, because you're like "whah?" the first time you open and then press back. - I'm very disappointed that the dialogue wheel no longer controls like a dial with the mouse and we have to click on responses like in Dragon Age. I would be happy with a patch for this. - I'm cool with the character creator, especially since the hair finally feels more like hair, even if I really miss being able to select nose, eye and mouth types. I have a feeling it has been designed this way though, because Daddy ryder is only combinable via the presets and then exterior tweaks. Even so, what is stopping you guys from allowing us to select different complexions, angling the eyes, tweaking ears and stuff? The non-cinematic dialogues:- Now this one strikes me as odd. You re-introduce the non-cinematic camera from DA:I but you've taken away it's so-called purpose: you can't exit in the middle of a conversation. The camera is strictly there to allow for "cheaper" dialogues but you're locked into them and on PC I now have to click and drag the mouse to change the view, which feels rather annoying (DA:I just had normal camera control). I'd prefer an option to just always make the camera follow the mouse. Also, I often get into a convo from the wrong angle, making all the characters obscured. This is when the lack of being able to exit the conversation on the fly becomes annoying, because I cannot re-adjust what the camera is focused on and then re-enter like I could in Inquisition. This is really a hit-and-miss solution. Also you should decrease FOV whenever we enter these because Ryder's face looks stretched in the edge of the screen and the cinematic focus is off because of the way it stretches when it zooms in. Regarding the animation:- Still very wonky animation and I'm pretty sure it has up until patch 1.03. Mass Effect may be an RPG but you can't confuse it with the likes of Fallout or Bethesda RPGs. Cinematicness was always one of the fundamental pillars of this series, combining linear with non-linear and emphasizing the "digital acting". I have no idea if you allow more work on animation post-launch day, but it really deserves an extra pass. Go CDPR route and work on an enhanced edition that gives everything a little facelift for later in 2017, maybe? Even the makers of Life Is Strange finished all 5 episodes (took them a year) and upon releasing the final one, they released a free patch that completely overhauled the lip-sync animations. What Andromeda specifically needs that is not good enough right now, is the eye-expressions. The characters too often seem to get the wrong cue across that doesn't match with their voices. It's very, very distracting for a game that emphasizes interactive narrative to the extent a BioWare game does. I agree with this. There is something very amazing here underneath all the technical issues. You need to come out with an enhanced edition or find some way to patch the animations and dead eyes otherwise all the effort will be wasted. The mystery, the story hooks, the characters its all there. Don't let this game go down as an average game just because of the technical hiccups.
