So... I've noticed a strange phenomenon in these forums of late. People register and start giving their bad impressions and doubt. They come in with their single-two bad reviews, calling the game names before ever playing long enough (since it's not even out yet), almost as though they intentionally want to cause trouble and infighting among the community members...
A lot of them haven't even been here long enough (or cared enough) to pick an avatar for themselves... Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course, but we are talking about people who have 5-7 posts, all of them are just negativity about Bioware as a whole or Andromeda specifically... You'd almost doubt such people belong at a Bioware FAN site...
Aren't such people usually called "trolls" in other parts of the internet? Or are we here just too polite for that?
I mean, I don't want to insult anyone, but this is a Bioware FAN forum, NOT "hate Bioware central." If you want to bitch about Bioware, maybe this forum isn't exactly the place to do it?
Just my opinion.

Such people started posting before the trial as well, bitching about how awful Bioware and their games are but yet they're posting on their fan site... yeah, I completely agree with you OP, I've never understood why you'd come to a fan forum of the game developer you hate and despise, it just doesn't make sense in my eyes.

If you want to bitch about Bioware, maybe this forum isn't exactly the place to do it? Just my opinion. I fall into the category who didn't make an avi yet and have about 5-7 posts. Sure maybe some comeback to troll, but if you actually read most of these/those topics you'll find gamers who have spent hours immersified in the ME universes who want nothing more but a great game. In the short time I've been here and long time I've lurked, I've noticed SOME (not all) people genrally tend to write off valid criticisms and agreeable points as "boo this isn't the trilogy go away." Considering the amount of criticisms Andromeda is getting right now I think it's good, it lets Bioware know that we care. Enough with writing off valid concerns. Most of us are fans who want to voice our concerns for a game we love.

I've noticed SOME (not all) people genrally tend to write off valid criticisms and agreeable points as "boo this isn't the trilogy go away." Maybe, but that's not what I wrote or talk about If someone has a VALID criticism (like no saves on missions) that's fine. But in my experience people who write such things also don't call the game by names and saying how shitty it is There is criticism, and there is trolling. I'm speaking of the latter. Also there is a problem with people "spending hours" in a game that hasn't been released yet, and what has been released is limited time-wise.

As soon as the trial started, it's as though there's been a raw sewage explosion on the forums; really repulsive.
>Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course
Sure, but an 'opinion' that's not well articulated, made with a 5-word vocabulary, isn't really an opinion; it's more of a verbal equivalent of the shit-slinging behavior of baboons.

Aren't such people usually called "trolls" in other parts of the internet? Or are we here just too polite for that? I think they're usually called 'new'. And there have been as many or more new members praising the game. And I thought these forums were here to discuss Bioware games, not simply gush over them. It looks like you're preparing your 'The haters did it!' defence if the game fails.

It looks like you're preparing your 'The haters did it!' defence if the game fails. As a fan of Dragon Age II I've never blamed "the haters" for its failures. They have some very legitimate complaints. But those were explained and analyzed, not summed to "the game is shitty" Also the game's failure never stopped me from enjoying it immensely, nor ME3 for that matter

Not everyone who disagrees with you is a troll. You're seeing posters with just a couple posts on their account because as the release is coming closer there's an influx of new users.
See the PC gamer preview. It really feels like the game is flawed in serious ways. Expect more negativity around here coming from users both old and new. We'd all love to be able to just dance all gay and gleeful becuase of how awesome ME:A is, but it WON'T be the case.

And again, criticizing is fine I doubt you're one of the people I'm referring to, as I haven't seen you call the game trash and shitty anywhere without any concrete criticism attached to it

If people think the game sucks and is getting annoyed with Bioware bs than it doesn't matter if they have 10 post or 100 it is their opinion.
To me it is like me saying you're riding Bioware dick no matter how bad the game maybe.

Just gonna throw some thoughts in, considering so far I fit this description having only commented on my disappointment at the character creation.
It always strikes me as slightly ironic how often people react negatively towards others giving negative feedback. All I care about is whether you convey constructive feedback or not. Negative feedback is just as if not more important as positive feedback for improving your products going forward.
And certainly not all negative feedback stems from a desire to bash the games or from being out to get the company behind them. Mass Effect is among my favorite franchises and you're damn right I'll point out any issues that bother me, because I care and I want it to be the best possible experience. So no, I don't think it's weird negativity pops up on a fan site.
I've seen these types of topics pop up so often in similar situations and I'm just tired of the implications of how you're a "lesser" fan for daring to provide negative feedback in the hopes of getting an even better experience in the future...
Probably a bit ranty, but that's how I feel about it.

Maybe is something is bad, saying it is good is bad?
Maybe some people have a point. For balanced opinion you have to take the bad as well as the good.

I mean, I don't want to insult anyone, but this is a Bioware FAN forum, NOT "hate Bioware central." If you want to bitch about Bioware, maybe this forum isn't exactly the place to do it? Just my opinion. Actually, this is called the BioWare Social Network. There is nothing about the name that suggests it is only a forum for devoted BioWare fans. Also, being a fan is about more than gushing spotless praise. Sometimes, being a fan means criticizing your favorite developer when they do something really stupid.

people, reread the whole post before you answer please. I say very specifically to what type of "negativity" I refer, and it's not "anyone who said anything bad about the game". Criticism is not the same as negativity, and I say clearly to what sort of "criticism" I refer (i.e. name calling etc.). If you have a beef with the CC, that doesn't fall under that category

Trolls are hating ME:A since 2015. Too many trolls are writing their nonsensical reviews, too. It's better not to pay attention to them; we have to PLAY THE GAME from start to end before starting nitpicking every single feature.

More likely is that they're fans of the original trilogy who either moved on to other games after ME3 or DA:I, and now that they've got hands on with ME:A, they're registering here to give legitimate feedback. Ye olde BSN used to get population spikes around the release of a Bioware game too, so why is it a surprise that this place is now more active too?
That isn't to say that there aren't trolls as well, but not every person who posts criticism is a troll. Most aren't.

Well I've edited the first post (just switching places, not deleting anything) because people seem to read the first sentence and ignore the rest. So now I've placed the name calling and stuff first, and the number of posts second Hopefully that will stop people from confusing legitimate criticism with the negativity I was actually referring to

I sort of fit the description of someone in your original post. I registered a couple weeks ago (was lurking for a couple weeks before that), and I've been mostly critical of ME:A/Bioware. I was registered on the "original" BSN but drifted off because I am "one of those people" who hated ME3 so much that we just kind of forgot about the series after that -- it faded from my memory pretty quickly. I came back because I wanted ME:A to reignite my love for the Mass Effect franchise as a whole. Right now, what I've seen makes me less than optimistic. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way and is on this forum because of it. It's akin to loving the first few albums a band produces, hating one or two consecutive albums because their sound totally changed, and really hoping that they "go back to their roots," only to be disappointed yet again. I guess this makes Bioware is the Metallica of video games?

A well reasoned defence or critique I can respect, whether I agree or not.
