Spent a ton of time with the creator and I've found a decent method to significantly reduce issues of weird mouth animations on Ryder and also help eliminate the dead-eye look.
Re: Eyes: The main issue I've noticed in videos and screenshots (default ryder's have this problem too) is the iris' tend to have a too light of a tone (light brown, light blue etc)..this light tone gives the added effect of making it look like they're peering out across a massive horizon several kilometers away at something. You need to darken the iris color, this gives the effect of makign their eyes look properly focused on close / medium ranged objects and people. Pick dark brown eyes or dark blue eyes or deep dark green eyes etc... don't pick light blues or light hazel.. your character will look like they're staring at something miles away.
Re: mouth: Depth. Grab the depth slider (default seems to be 10 for most heads) and drag it back to about 5.. this pulls the mouth in and still looks natural and has the effect of massively reducing the "fish mouth" effect when your character talks in some scenes. After doing this my character's mouth movements look basically natural 99% of the time... as opposed to default ryder (or preset ryders) who's mouths tended to have weird fish-lip effects at times. You can try to pull it back lower than 5 but I find them mouth tends to look a bit too deeply recessed into the face this way.
Anyway, give it a shot, see if it helps... I was immensely satisfied with the results and it seemed to work well on multiple test Ryders with different heads etc.

The avatar of your female Shepard is beautiful... aren't you sad you will literally never be able to come even close to re-creating something as pretty as she was?

I've never been able to recreate a character in any other bioware game that I was as satisfied with as I was with my ME1 / Me2/ ME3 femshep.. and Andromeda I definitely am not particularly excited about the appearances (though I don't find them bad.. just not memorable). I eventually made a Sara I'm content with, but nowhere near as I was with my femshep. I was able to use the CC to scult Evelyn Shepard's face with almost laser precision.. spent HOURS on it... Yet after 30 minutes in Andromeda I felt I had exhausted all possible options and variables... the CC is just too limited to fine tune bone structure, eye shape etc like I could in the trilogy.

Hey, my FemRyder looks almost that good! The problem wasn't really the CC, it was that I put her mouth too close to her nose, and so she looks great while smiling or from certain angles, but other angles she's got a bit of the Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys. But that's my fault. I still like her!

I too noticed these little alterations to the eyes and mouth. I think I went through five iterations of my Sara before I found the right version I'll use on Monday night ( which was lucky too since my trial period ended 15 mins after starting the prologue). Although I've noticed on preset 9, the one I went with, even though I lowered her mouth she makes weird mouth movements from time to time. And I don't mean the "fish" mouth but slightly off smerks. As for the eyes luckily my intention was always a dark green eyes so I was going to have a better time with the eyes anyway.

We need to get this message out of the world!
