Like in DA:i to get the best gear e.g. hakkon weapons. You had to complete the hardest challenge and the'd be a chance to drop at the end. However what i can see atm the only way to get ultra rares is through purchasing crates. Imo at the end of every mission complete bronze/silver/gold their should be a gear drop, with the ultra rare chance of dropping at the end of a gold mission complete.

And you only get 10-15k credits per mission complete, and trust me ive finished games with 23,000+ points overall it still takes roughly 10 games to accumulate enough credits for one crate, if your also purchasing first aid crates while you play. If it stays like this theres no point in running gold missions due to the time it takes and the risk of dying before extraction, you may aswell just run through bronze as its quicker, which is stupid.

Bronze games sure, and I disagree about "Only worth" buying Premium crates. If you check the weapons list thread, you'll see that there are many viable weapons as uncommon drops. I'm currently buying the 5K credit packs to get all the base stuff to Rank X, as to avoid getting that roll when moving to higher crates. I can understand the human element of getting things NAOW. I'm guilty of this as well, as I've bought 9000 Andromeda points (30 Premium crates worth), however the game is clearly designed around longelivity (More XP needed to level base classes, and the introduction of Prestige XP to increase base stats.) so the point of what you want/would like is moot - it's gone gold, they will not be changing the formula much, if at all.

The ME loot system is different from the one in DAMP.
No Duplicates!! Every crate gives your gear an upgrade until you max that item out. It also works best to buy Commons until they are maxed out then get the Uncommons, max those etc.
Nothing to stop you from grabbing the extra bumper crate from time to time, but Common gear is suited to Bronze, Uncommon to Silver and Rare to Gold, Ultra Rares are the cherry on top until Platinum comes out later down the line.
The cost of those crates are weighted to the difficulty that they are aimed at. After a Bronze match you have enough (on extraction naturally) to buy a Common crate.

I suppose i just dislike the amount of rng, as Ive already used up my 10hours purely grinding multiplayer. I found that for time efficiency in purchasing crates its best to only run through bronze, I was just hoping thed be an extra incentive to go through gold, like cazy credits and xp aswell as potential ultra rare drop. But found that was not the case, sure after people get better gear golds will become quicker but at that point it still always going to be rng. But I still stick by the fact that after a successful gold evacuation there should be a very slim chance of a ultra rare drop.

Hakkons were a special case, in that when they first came out you had to beat the dragon to get a chance at one. It was only later that they were added to chests
If you beat Gold you can buy a crate that has a chance at Ultra Rare or a Rare in the worst case.

Well the thing is everyone is runing whit lvl 1 characters and lvl 1 common weapons.... So even bronze at first feels hard. Then you start progressing and everything changes.
Near the end of my 10 hours i was runing Silver like it was Bronze - granted i had to use few RPG's. Now think how once we get few good weapons and maxed characters - gold will be just as easy and fast.
So as everyone else i will just focus on enjoying the game and not worry too much about the boxes. Tho i must say i find it a bit disturbing how much boosters and power ups are stuffed in the boxes. That may become a problem once we want to start farming the ultra rare stuff.

I would prefer it not work like DAI's dragon grind system. That is actually what finally turned me off that MP.

You get enough credits to buy a crate if you extract, and even if you don't extract you get credits per completed wave. if it anything like ME3 bronze:15k, silver 30k+, gold 50k+ According to a report given by someone who fully extracted on gold here, the credit payout is ~35k which is way lower than the gold payout from me3. If I recall correctly, the payout for gold in me3mp was above 50k(somewhere around 80k I thought with all the objective/extraction bonuses). Of course the matches are shorter but there's more to max out this time around and it appears that silver may be more worth it in a reward vs time invested scenario if you're geared well enough. There's a reason why the credits are called "Grindmoney" within the in game files.

I guess it is just a matter of insufficient playtime thus far. It is pretty hard to draw conclusions when people have played just 10 hours at most. Once we have like 200-300 hours invested, we can complain about how bad the loot system is; even though if you stick to the game and play it for 600+ hours you are likely to unlock everything there is anyway and forget about how bad the loot system is.
Regarding DAIMP Dragon/Hakkon item grinding, it had all that raid-vibe of four people going through a long-ass dungeon and fighting a boss at the end. It was more demanding than a mere mission and it was not supposed to be mere mission, though it eventually became just that due to the lack of map variety in that game. Not sure if one equivalent would work in MEAMP. It might, who knows. However, that stuff came out 7 months after DAI had been released. MEA is not even out yet as far as I am aware.
