So, again, who is the mater nerd whose vision is steering and motivating the Andromeda project? This is incredibly important.

Todd Howard defined the 'tone at the top' for Elder Scrolls, etc, and Casey Hudson defined the 'tone at the top' for the Mass Effect games. I feel like David Gaider was similarly positioned and 'visionary' for the earlier Dragon Age titles.

So who do we name as the 'vision-defining' capstone for Andromeda?

If they're just a bunch of lackluster geeks clocking in on a chore, it will ruin everything.

Well, I could tell you, but I think it will ruin the surprise.

i really like pathfinder's setting but i REALLY don't like how focused on min/maxing the rules are. it's designed from the ground up by and for min/maxer's and autists. the rest of us normies have to play on crayon eater difficulty just to hit a target.

It was probably Casey again at the start at least and in terms of overriding vision that is probably most important. Obviously Yannick Roy will have a lot of authority but I doubt he comes up with the ideas in the way you are talking about it. I think Michael Gamble might have assumed Casey's role.

At the same time I could be completely wrong

Does it really matter?

Is the star power of the person in charge really important to the games success or failure? Not everything Howard, Fargo, Avellone, or the doctors did was magic you know?

I don't need star power. What I need is to know whether this project was born out of obligation and being assigned to a group that will "group-think" the whole thing or if there is vision behind it.

I am pretty sure BioWare is not really into the group think thing, especially after the Mass Effect trilogy had vision behind it but it was changed mid-way through due to circumstances.
