As always you'll find my opinions somewhere in the comments. I don't bother rewriting them here, but I thought you'd like to watch this too.

No worries, I just ranted about the ending in accordance with the misconcepitons thrown around in the host's script and Mike/Mac's reflections.
But the video kinda comes across as this really fluffy apology video to me. It's on Gamespot for framing it that way, but I liked hearing the minor tidbits in it regarding Andromeda more. I'm just so sick of the press downplaying and undermining the actual problems of ME3 which to me only shows that as an industry we've got new standards to be set for narrative quality in general since so barebones and damaging writing can slip through so many review outlets with high scores.
It's even something which I believe PCGamer or whoever it was touched upon with Andromeda, saying that games in general need to "slow the hell down" and not rush to the instant gratification of combat or loot or "fun" at the expense of properly setting up the story.
One thing I love in Andromeda is how slow it is when you're on the nexus after the first mission. You just walk around, use the tram, talk and talk and talk. that's really good. If only the first mission was as subtle.

I found it kind of amusing that one of the devs seemed to forget that Legion dies no matter what.
Other than that, I thought it was fair.

I wish the first mission was a bit slower but I also like how abrupt it is. it accounts for the fact that you really don't have time to grieve or think.

The problem of abruptness is mostly just over how badly I think the story sets itself up. It's the writing. The whole inspirational speeches thing about going on the first mission felt so forced.

Oh good, I was looking forward to this.
I don't understand some of this b-roll footage, though. It looks like clips of ME1, but there's a guy in N7 armor, and he... saved Kaidan? Wtf is this.

Why is it so hard for them to admit they were wrong about the ending? 5 years later they still maintain the whole "We're proud of the ending!" bullshit. How can you create such a shitstorm, break the hearts and lose the trust of so many of your fans, and be proud of that? The ego of these guys is stunning. At least Patrick Weekes was man enough to admit they fucked it up, even though he had to cover his ass afterward.
Furthermore, now is really not the time to bring up that controversy again and say you're proud of it. How disconnected are they? Do they not know people are still salty about that? Just shut the fuck up and release your game that's suppose to be a clean slate.

Still i respect him as the only writer to get out of ME3 with his diginity intact. Not sure, mainly because it hurts to admit you're wrong sometimes, or their ego is still so big that we the fans are wrong. Who knows? I never actually hated the endings that much, i mean they are bad there is no doubt about it. I just don't have it in me to rag on the game over and over when i actually enjoy like 80% of it.

I found it kind of amusing that one of the devs seemed to forget that Legion dies no matter what. That sort of thing seems to be common with game writers in general. The hardcore fans are always more knowledgeable about the game universe's story than the people that actually write and develop it. Red Shirt Guy is probably the most famous example. Maybe it is because games are written by multiple people, or because the writers are not as personally invested in writing stories that aren't their own, but for whatever reason that always seems to be the case and isn't unique to Mass Effect.

Reborn be the five year old ending's butthurts. Well whoop die fucking doo when they almost start the video with this There are fans, or former fans, of LOST that are also still butthurt over the ending, and it's totally understandable -- they're still passionately fans of the original trilogy as it was before it went awry.

Red Shirt Guy, the hero we didn't deserve, a true legend. I mean Chris Metzen is so taken a back by that question, its amazing.

Ah, back in the day when games outside of companies like Rockstar allowed themselves to be politically incorrect. Still kinda immature though.
