This is a thread for all the people who played the first 10 hours of Andromeda and are excited, so you can freely speculate what's to come and talk about what you loved so far in the game.
No negativity about animation allowed, I grew up with KOTOR and couldn't care less about it. This is a happy place.
This is a list of things I personally am questioning, speculating, loving and can't wait to do on Tuesday. Feel free to add, build on it or just enjoy the good vibes.
Story: What was going on in Andromeda before us Milky Way people got there!? Why those robots are there, who created them and what their conflict with the Kett is and why the Kett were on Habitat 7. How Alec Ryder knew what to do with the giant terraforming machine when the Kett didn't seem to have a clue. How telling Liam to stay angry or calm down may have an effect on the story and his character. What the dad knows/is hiding along with what happened to the Ryder twins' mother (I have a good guess but won't say for now) What happened to the other ships coming to Andromeda and if the Quarians actually ever got to leave the Milky Way. They were going leave late I believe but with the Reapers attacking Earth first... Finding out who all the romance options are. Alien sex scenes/send nudes? The moment get to punch Director Tann (it HAS to happen). Love to hate him so far. How will our Ryder twin react once they're out of that coma and where will they go if they don't join your squad. Seeing how the twins talk to each other.
Gameplay: Basically building a new citadel (Nexus) and outposts on planets even if it's just doing quests and watching them grow. Driving around and exploring planets that aren't habitable, something I miss so much from Mass Effect 1. I enjoy scanning things so far.. it may get annoying because I don't like missing stuff but the game does notify you when something important is near. Reading the description for every planet/anomaly. I never did this in previous games but found myself enjoying it in my first 10 hours. Taking loads of screenshots, something new to console players. Putting together skills and equipment attachments to make an awesome Ryder. There's so many skills and mods, I really don't know what my Ryder and play style is going to end up like. Seeing all the Nomad designs and upgrading it.
Other things I loved: The inside of Kett ships remind me of alien horror movies and the first planet felt like something out of Star Trek. The graphics look great. I love how all the characters seem to be sweating behind their visors when wearing the helmets, it really emphasizes how they're probably uncomfortable to wear but necessary when on these alien planets. The Kett design and what I think are their pet dogs?..It's kind of cute they have violent man eating pets. The fact that when you change your casual outfit colors it also changes the colors of the uniform for everyone on your ship and possibly everyone on the Nexus?

Shinobi62 says the game is a bit of a slow burn and picks up considerably the deeper you go into the game. He also says reviews will be generally positive. He is probably the most reliable leak in the industry, so I would say the game is in decent shape despite all the pre-release criticism. I personally can't wait to see the truth behind papa Ryder and the Kett. Also the space battle in the trailer looks pretty sweet too.

I think I'm ready for any slow burn Mass Effect throws at me haha

I thought it was pretty cool, maybe just a little bit long, but you could get a ton of power for a starting area, and power imo is one of the most important aspects of RPG.

I didn't hate the Hinterlands, I just remember thinking I was doing main quests when really I was doing side quests. I didn't understand the journal and map yet for some reason and it ruined the pace I wanted to play the story at the beginning a bit...and I think I kept dying from being a low level at a certain point

The problem with the Hinterlands isn't that people disliked the area, it's that they were used to the standard BioWARE formula of: The first area is small, you go to your hub and get your squaddies, and then you go. KOTOR was Taris, ME was the Citadel, ME2 was Omega, DA:O was Lothering, DA2 was Kirkwall.
The Hinterlands diverged from BioWARE's formula. People spent so long slogging through quests there, they didn't realize the small hub to get your folks was Val Royeaux.

The Hinterlands diverged from sanity. People use "The Hinterlands" as a sort of shorthand for the designers' apparent need to force us all to play an offline version of an old MMORPG. You had to do a half dozen sidequests in the Hinterlands just to open up Val Royeux on the war table. Then you had to do more sidequests to open up each stage of the main quest. Admittedly, you could do those quests in other zones, but its not like The Hinterlands was _especially_ bad compared to the others. Most of the sidequests available were tedious crap unsatisfying. It may have taken me several real life calendar days to plow through the admittedly small number needed to reach fantasy Paris....which itself turns out to be something of a disappointment. I think its perfectly fair to criticize people who somehow managed to create a FANTASY version of PARIS that was sort of lifeless. When I broke down and finally bought a copy of DA:I (primarily in response to pleas from a teenage daughter with friends who kept recommending the game) I was pleasantly surprised that I did not hate it the way much of the internet seem to. I found a lot to like about it, actually. But the gameplay has some ... issues. I give it extra points for "shows improvement" after DA2's gameplay, but that's not a low bar to step over, its a World Limbo Championship bar. I never found the idea of "DAI in space" to be that worrying. But I have to admit that's probably because I prefer using the Claymore that shoots the bad guys full of holes to the one that my 5' tall elf lady waves around her head. I figured Bioware wouldn't manage to completely badonk up MEs combat. From the trial, I don't think they have. I'm off this next week to watch the kids during Spring Break. I'll be watching the mailbox on Tuesday like Charlie Brown on Valentine's Day. I hope I'm less disappointed than the poor round-headed schlub.

No negativity allowed? Then TL;DR You don't have to read any of it. The whole point is for people to feel free to share and feel excitement without feeling like they're going to fall in some pointless argument with someone who claims they're not even going to be playing the game. I felt a responsibility as OP to share all the things on my mind, I keep going back to try and shorten parts of it up for people who just want to read positive stuff.

I never had a problem having power points for main missions only because I'm always obsessed with leveling up my guy (and best way to do that is side missions). I play on hard and insanity for most games and it's a bit necessary if you don't want to get stuck half way through a main mission. I'm expecting Andromeda side missions to be more interesting only because I've always been more interested in space soldier stories than mages and elves stories. Mass Effect 1 had good side missions that didn't have much to do with the main plot but were memorable and took you to multiple different planets and abandoned ships floating in space, I'm hoping for more of that. Also hoping we get surprise companions that weren't advertised. I feel like there's always that one character that makes me think "OH.. you're joining me?.. Ok." ..but maybe I just didn't do enough research on those games

That's not how discussion works. That's how discussions work when the topic is the story and not if the game is good or not (by the way, it hasn''t come out). Idk man, in my real life I work in the tv and film industry and part of what I love about it is sitting down with people to discuss where a story is going and the mind state of all the characters and how it effects their relationships and so on. In those conversations no one says "Oh, but this sucks and you suck and your character sucks because you're playing it and your face is stiff and who wrote all of this anyways?!?" It's all, "I think it would make sense if this would happen" and "It'd be really cool if this happened" and it's all very interesting and there's not usually frustration and negativity

I'm irrationally excited about clicking on heads. It's been too long. [...] It may have taken me several real life calendar days to plow through the admittedly small number needed to reach fantasy Paris....which itself turns out to be something of a disappointment. Four. You need four Power to get to Val Royeaux. One of which you can get in Haven. Do a couple of rifts and/or the Apostates in Witchwood/Templars on the West Road quests - a total of maybe 15 minutes? - and you're done. It takes about as much time to save-scum Requisitions and do the Drakestone req a couple-three times to avoid XP gain for Trial of the Fool, but that's actually boring and nobody should do it more than once. I mean, it's not for me to say whether you should find something entertaining or not, but even this relatively innocuous post displays the typical hyperbole over the infamous Hinterlands slog. If four Power took you "several real-life calendar days" you were spending those days doing literally nothing.

There might be things to complain about, it is true. But whining will get us nowhere.

I'll never forget running through Brutes with the N7 piranha but there's so many new guns in this game! I'm more worried about the skills I pick. I played a soldier throughout all of MET and during ME3 multiplayer played an N7 Paladin (the guy with the shield and snap freeze.. the snowthrower ). There's just something I love about freezing dudes and then bashing them. Thinking of using a charge, freeze and sword combo for single player. and haha Director Tann is sounding more and more like Emperor Palpatine everyday, waiting for him to claim he is a biotic god
