F*ck, why did i click? I can't resist, damn it.
But reading it is one thing and watching it is another. I'll wait to get the game to see how these parts are executed in the game.

I will concur after reading that I'm very excited now, I really think this short 10 hour trial did more harm than good unfortunately.

I will concur after reading that I'm very excited now, I really think this short 10 hour trial did more harm than good unfortunately. Probably! The first planet (Eos) isn't all that interesting (sure you get to meet Peebs and Drak the alien doggy-killing badass (I loved how he kicks/throws that corps into the room and you are totally surprised he comes in afterwards!)...I am more interested in what happens later, for example: - looking for the other Arks (including the Quarian ship! I mean someone caught that maybe they are without suits now because if the Krogan can spend their time in cryo adapting to the genophage (!) then the Quarians can use theirs to adapt to living without suits (Tali herself says it would take 600 years (instead of 60) if they were to settle any other world than Rannoch!)) - making decisions on my own (no more daddy dearest holding my hands!) - putting down those rebels (so far they don't have a strong case ("We weren't told anything" or "They didn't keep their promises" (sorry, but if you sign up for something like this than you should know this is a very real possibility, after all 600 years is more than enough to destroy planet's biosphere!) isn't good enough to justify theft (from food to weapons and even shuttles etc.), assault and even murder!), in fact IMHO they endangered the entire expedition and should all be shot! Summary execution is after all what traitors get!) - loyalty missions! - Remnant vaults - meeting new races (I'd like it if there were more than the Angara!) etc. etc. Also: Bioware doesn't have the best first few hours in games (normally that's something most studios polish the most in order to make people buy their games etc., but Bioware kind of doesn't...sure some games start off well, but most of them aren't especially impressive at first...Mass Effect games just drop you into the action, no real world building before (even if you talk to every person on the Normandy SR-1 you are in action barely 20 minutes later and you lose someone under your command, too: Jenkins (can't do anything about it, no interrupt, no telling him to be careful beforehand! Nothing: He's dead and that's a fact! Same for ME2 and 3!) greetings LAX

Don't think the quarians will adapt outside the suits: The ships are sterile environments. They need to adapt to a planet.

Clearly you don't read all of my posts. But that doesn't mean I won't criticize Bioware (fiercely even) for some very obvious issues or cliches that they put. Besides, a lot of people on BSN either defend Bioware in all fronts all the time, never criticizing them, or just rant all the time and never admit what they do right.

That's hard to say, in a scale of 1-10 because what matters to me in an ending might be different than you. To me, it feels more epic than all three because of what this game is all about. I would give a 9, because there are some things there that I didn't like, maybe it will not matter much to others. If you're still worried, you can rest easy that the game will not end in a disappointment, that's for sure.

It seems like what was said by many about the game getting better after the gate point is true. Too bad they decided to go for the access. The decision of allowing the streaming of later parts of the game is definitely because they thought it'd help raise positive opinions though.

Yeah I saw a bunch of this footage.
I don't think I'll be super enthused about the main plot. And I mostly expected that. It is meant to be a 'side' (but not side) adventure that brings new things into the Mass Effect universe while still being similar enough to what we know. So honestly, it plays it safe, especially compared to whattheeff was up with ME3. Again, expected. Bioware can decide in the next game how far they want to go with this new plot, how much they want to keep and/or develop threads of older content (this will be a common thing with it being Bioware Montreal now), and how much totally new stuff to bring in again.
What I think I may be enthused about are tidbits throughout the game, perhaps many of the secondary or side missions. I'm thankful there's more value of continuity of the series than many thought there'd be, even with this Kett/Angaran/Remnant deal. The K/A/R is just to reinforce that yes, we're done with a focus of the trilogy, and onto a new bigger backdrop, but not the end of a series.
It strikes me as a sequel-spinoff of Star Trek. Still part of a larger world story, but hey here's this new stuff with a new tone and lets try to figure this out too - all of it under a universal framework.
I don't love all of it. I may even dislike this main plot more than any previous ones - but I feel so far that I'll potentially really enjoy a lot of the exploration, continuation of old things, and potential of some of the newer things.
I mean, if I'm already having a smile on my face investigating a colony on Eos that uses so many of the tech and living space looks from the trilogy, character dialogue style like it, and callouts to the Milky Way, something was done right.
I only have one big personal wish of Bioware Montreal/Mass Effect/Mass Effect: 'Andromeda series', don't just drop the Milky Way. I'll come to disagreements to some here, and that's fine, but I don't think the story is over there. We don't have to have another game primarily set there, okay. We don't have to have a game with a main plot all about something there, okay. But I think its an important setting, up to it being a good idea to even go back there (in smaller capacities) in future titles.
But for years, I've been okay with the ark concept itself, and the positioning of the series to shift over to new worlds. That's fine. And from what I see here, I'll enjoy it enough in the Heleus Cluster. Just.. don't turn Mass Effect into just some weirdo Halo thing - I was even okay with using a writer, but hoped it would be just to inform some aspects of new story, not redefine what the whole series will be, away from how the trilogy was. New stuff can be great. Do it every game. Bring in more in the next game. Don't forget the past though, and don't be afraid to bring it back sometimes in big ways, when it looks like it'll work.
