God, the CRIIIIINGE.
It feels like a fanfiction. It isn't real.

And it's not just the tumblr fanfiction dialogue. It's the emotionless face paralysis. It's the abysmal mouth animation. It's Kallo not moving AT ALL save for his mouth when he is in camera. It's the camera angles and editing.

I feel like watching someone play with action figures, I just don't see the giant hands holding them by the waist.

This game will be a top meme of the year. It's literally filled with cutting edge memes and cringe. And came out right after massive successes like Horizon or Breath of the Wild (fiscal year end and all that jazz), looking like a retarded sister.

But this teen awkward romance "xddddd owww ryder so awkwurd xppp yasss she thinks me cute too :DDD" takes the cake so far.

Honestly, feels like a modern movie script.

Before people get their pitchforks ready, I need to remind y'all that there were two dialogue options after the heart option was pressed.  The other, give that it's the "logical" option, is probably the less fanfictiony of the two.

In otherwords, people can calm down, you don't have to flirt this way.  BW is just giving people options on how they want to play their character.

yeah, romances are optional. In fact, all the dialogue is. But, if for some weird reason anybody would decide to romance the Suvi RealDoll model he will hear exactly this.
Honestly, cringeworthy "adorkable" junior high dialogue isn't the biggest offender. The complete inability of models to convey the emotions is. Sara Ryder looks like a truly autistic person trying to "adoringly" talk herself out of the embarassing "ur cute :3" statement while having a poker face, and so does Suvi, laughing in words only.

But I also reject the "it's optional so you shouldn't mind it". If there was an OPTION to call Liam a "coon" during a single conversation I think the defense that "there certainly are people out there who welcome this option" wouldn't pass. 

I get that the dialogue is optional, but its not the only example of kinda cringy dialogue that we've been seeing in the earlier parts of the game. My issue is that this specific instance feels symptomatic of a general problem with the writing and the way that writing is conveyed, rather than a weird anomaly.

I mean, watching this and another "awkward humor" scene in DAI, the reveal of Cassandra's love for Varric's books, there's a definite disconnect in the writing and portrayal here.
