12,000 Andromeda points cost $100 on the Microsoft Store. So that is $2.50 per premium pack.
The super premium purchase (or whatever it was called) gives 20 premium packs for $30. That is $1.50 per premium pack.
However, you get them one per week vs. being able to unlock 40 premium packs immediately and jump start into higher content.
I was looking for what the cost of the microtransactions are, but didn't find them in a search here. So did my own research.

I view it more in terms of time saved to be honest.
Each of those boxes are worth 4 silver extrations currently, or about 100 minutes of playtime.
So the 100$ purchase is worth 50 hours worth of playtime.
Over time as we Progress into Gold, and can extract there reguarly, my percieved value of the boxes will go down. However, given the mechanic of stats upgrades, that cannot be purchased buying too many boxes will not give you the powerhouse you could get in ME3MP, since MP is likely balanced around these upgrades being applied.

Honestly, if you're going to buy packs, buy them now while everything is shiny and new. At least for me, I get a lot more utility out of going from no weapon to a Falcon I than a Falcon IX to a Falcon X

Have the Super version but bought 10 packs after a few games to try and make life a little easier which it did, enjoying the kit I unlocked and the Eagle, at level 9 and going to stay in Bronze until the game unlocks and I can run with friends on higher levels.

One Premium Pack early in the game is a substantial headstart, but as the weeks go by and people play more, these paid-Packs effectiveness decrease. A Premium Pack 10 weeks from now may not mean that much anymore, let alone 20 weeks from now.
Had their offered 10 Premium Packs right away, it would have been a better, more significant deal for us.
Right now the main selling point of the Super Deluxe Edition is its name, really. I know people who are not that interested in MP and have pre-ordered that, pretty much because of its name.

Yeah if all the packs were upfront then I'd probably have gone for it.
But spread over 20 weeks is poor - by which time normal playing should get most things at least unlocked at level 1.

Well I bought a few packs. Got a kineticist, which I'm not even going to attempt to play with until I have some clue what I am doing.
Trying out the Turian Havoc, which seems decent. Can't say I'm liking any of the assault rifles though. Took the Sone into my only Bronze match, it does decent damage but the warm up is painful. The Sandstorm is like the Mat, never cared for single shot weapons. I can tell I'm going to be really missing the Harrier.
Took me forever to figure out how to hover.

Wish I could get a kineticist so easily. It's like the only damn thing I'm aiming to unlock - the rest I'm happy to let fill in over time. I bet RNG is going to troll me so that I don't get it for weeks...

Remember most of them on the old BSN specced out of Pull entirely! So I'm sure you'll be fine. Just for the record did you buy Expert packs or Premium packs?

Bioware are very clever to lock the kineticist behind UR status...

Well I bought a few packs. Got a kineticist, which I'm not even going to attempt to play with until I have some clue what I am doing. She can detonate with Lance and throw enemies into other enemies. After getting a few kills, you can hold the melee button to activate her special mode which allows you to use powers without cooldowns by consuming barrier. Playing a game with three Kineticists and one shield boost kit should be fun.

And looking at level 6 of pull, the shield restore looks sweet. I had no clue on the melee thing, that will be interesting to try.

A few pack related questions. I purchased points to get 20 of the "N7" boxes and whatever i got for the digital collectors edition.
I got a fair few of the rate toons, some great guns. (the SMG that needs no ammo is hands down the OP at bronze / silver)
Question, i have not seen any "equipment". Consumables and weapon mods, but no equipment???
Someone did an analysis early in ME3 MP and worked out it was better to buy the cheap boxes until you had all the common chars/weapons vs buying the most expensive box early on and wasting that on "common" stuff. That still the case?

Seems to be the same worth as premium spectre pack would be to a new player in ME3MP. If that's just 4 silver extractions then it's really just the same as in ME3, that is not worth the money vs time invested, because playing the actual game should actually be a lot of fun and I don't have a problem with a bit of a grind myself.
I got the super edition for 30% off on that new years sale so it was certainly worth it to get it at 1$/pack considering the discount at this time, but for the future? Absolutely not, it will be really nice to get them right now at the start tough.

Yeah, the thing is ; You are likely not going to be extracting on Silver right away, which would further schew the cost/benefit on time gained by throwing money at the problem. I bought enough points for 30 Premium crates during the trial, and it helped me avoid just sticking to Bronze. And it also depends how much time you can devote to grinding which can wary greatly. Once my vacation is up as an example, I'll not be able to devote huge amounts of time to it - but tossing money at it as DLC is released will let me taste just a sip of the new weapons and classes we expect to be released over time. I'll still be behind over time, because of the extra stats like in DAIMP (which requires grinding, not buying), but it would keep me in the loop.

I'm also one of those who has plenty of loose change floating around, but time can be harder to come by. Beyond a certain level of limited free time I have available, each hour I spend in MEAMP will cost me $140 in lost earnings. 40 premium packs for $90 starts to look like a great value from a cost/benefit point of view.

It's important to note however that the value of those packs is at it's highest when you start playing. Getting a Piranha VIII to IX isn't gonna make much of a difference. But going from a Charger I on a human adept to a Hurricane I on an Asari adept with Annihilation is the difference of playing on bronze versus playing on silver or gold.
