Again, Metacritic literally says "Generally favorable reviews" and you guys are acting like it's horrible. And if you look at the polls on this very forum fans seem to have very much enjoyed their time with the game so far. Word of mouth is important, if the fans like it and you are a Mass Effect fan I'm sure you'll like the game just fine. The sky is not falling, the game is rated what it is because of its technical issues which can easily be fixed with a patch or two. Please stop with the hysteria. I will not be surprised if this game ends up getting good word of mouth in the long run. Hard to gauge how successful this game will be. Alot of it will be how well they can address the technical issues and what kind of word of mouth it gets when the hysteria dies down and the internet troll horde sets their sites on something else

The CDR dickriding is hilarious Let's wait and see just how 'glorious' cyberpunk is first, shall we? Based on the witcher series it should. I do not want to get into how many details and effort witcher 3 has.... Roach searches and drinks water when left alone. Geralt's facial hair grow. ALL sidequests are great. The expansion s BETTER than the main game. Animations are ALL NOT recycled and there is quite the variety Faces are SUPERB. Facial animations actually show the CORRECT emotion. Insane amount of quality content with the FEW occasional fetch quests ofcourse. Respect to customers. CONSTANT FIXING AND VARIOUS TWEAKS FOR THE BETTER. NO SIGNIFICANT OR GAMEBREAKING BUGS AT LAUNCH SO yeah i can dickride them all day long . I even enjoy it P.S i am by no means a CDPR fanboy but a bioware one, albeit not a blind fanboy

Why are we all treating a 77% metascore as bad? I mean it is not the best game ever but to call it a flop seems very dramatic. Because this is supposed to be Mass Effect's big comeback after the controversy that was ME3. Edit: Note, I am not a CDPR fan

I even enjoy it P.S i am by no means a CDPR fanboy but a bioware one, albeit not a blind fanboy Yes but you are also forgetting that Geralt sucks. So clever. You mentioned the great fan scores on these very forums, earlier. The problem with those scores, a problem I pointed out in that thread, is that the reviews were ridiculous. All reviews are subjective; but the "professional" reviews attempt to operate by a more understood standard, and are easily called out for their BS if and when they deviate. These fans reviews often read similarly to the following: "I'm loving it! Yes, the facial animations are bad; and some textures pop in and out. The game crashed a few times. It slows down here and there; and there's rubber-banding in MP. None of that matters to me, though! 95%! I'm so excited, I can't wait!"The only well thought out reviews I read from fellow forum goers were scoring it between 70-85%, much the same as the "professionals". I love this IP, and have invested far more time into it than most. I'll be playing MEA tomorrow, since I have the time and the desire to do so. Still, I go into it with eyes wide open, thanks to both my own attentive observation this last year, and honest, informative reviews. I'm not sure why some feel the need to get sore, contrary or defensive about low review scores. In all likelihood, it's being scored precisely as it deserves, given the consistency of both the scores and the provided analyses.

I'm still struggling to get my head around that, did I trial the same game as they did? Especially with the negative list they have. They didn't like the writing (that's 2 of the negatives which are contradicted by other reviews) and the other one is minor technical issues. Hell, after 65 hours the authors said he was going to continue playing it, if this was really a 6 he wouldn't

Well, I got my copy so a review will be added to Opencritic soon.
Truth be told OpenCritic I think is a better indicator anyway. Although it's the same thing.

The picture being painted is pretty consistent across all of these reviews. Whether the final score is a 6, 7 or 8, the descriptions of the highs and lows are consistently the same. Clearly, one man's 6 is another's 8. Why so mad?

The picture being painted is pretty consistent across all of these reviews. Whether the final score is a 6, 7 or 8, the descriptions of the highs and lows are consistently the same. Clearly, one man's 6 is another's 8. Why so mad? Because people focus far too much on arbitrary numerical scores and not enough on the actual content of the review. This is why I hope that numerical scores and such for video games eventually die so then people will be more inclined to listen to what the reviewer actually said instead of looking at and comparing reviews of different games based on the numbers alone.

I think it's safe to say a lot is riding on Bioware's new IP at this point. Not a lot, everything. The new IP is also at a disadvantage now because I believe it won't get the same boost or pre hype bioware games used to get because of fan loyalty. It will have to stand on its own.

The CDR dickriding is hilarious Let's wait and see just how 'glorious' cyberpunk is first, shall we? I almost feel bad for CDR because the first time they stumble (and it will happen). It will get ugly. The worst parts of the old bioware fanbase has migrated to them. The reason so many old Bioware fans have jumped ship and flocked to CDPR is because THEY are now writing amazing characters and stories that move you to tears while Bioware has turned into an embarrassing parody of its former self. Bioware's creativity is gone because the people who wrote these beloved great characters are GONE. They jumped ship years before most fans realized that the blank eyes of MEA are what Bioware has become under EA. Those freak show faces and awful animations couldn't be any more symbolic. MEA is a caricature of Mass Effect, it's a dating sim for teenagers to me. It's so wooden and dull, it's bordering on the bizarre. And the biggest irony of all is that Geralt allows for far greater roleplaying/real consequences than Ryder or his equally boring predecessor the inquisitor. Geralt is like paragon/regenade Shepard. You can be the sweetest helpful guy ever or sell out your friends to be tortured to death. Apparently Ryder is four shades of paragon that boils down to the same thing. How is that for roleplaying?? How can anybody defend this crap and hate on Geralt as a set character?! It's HILARIOUS! Can't create the face you want for Ryder, can't make the choices you want because the game won't allow you to be a big meanie. Can't even save your progress whenever you want. LOL. So does it boil down to who you can shag or what? Is that all that matters to people these days? Because that's the only thing Bioware still has to offer that other developers don't: LBGT romances. That's all that's left. Everything else is done way better by others now. Hell, Horizon has a MUCH better cinematic emotionally rewarding intro that drew me in the way Bioware once did. Aloy, another set character, feels more alive that this wooden creepy doll that is Ryder. It's only a matter of time until CDPR realizes that they can get away with a lot less effort too. Uninspired buggy games sell just a well. Why make an effort? Just look at all the people here not believing these reviewers all saying the writing is weak and the characters dull. And the quests are nothing but busywork. Having watched the opening and mission bits on YT I can only agree. CDPR has replaced Bioware for me as the most engaging storytellers. They don't care about SJW whining and political correctness one bit. They just do their thing, writing good stories and complex characters. I wish Bioware had done the same. But they chose to ride the special snowflake wave. So that everybody can indulge in their personal fantasies rather than play a good story. And it has killed all their creativity.
