What is the "Equipment" in the loadout screen?

You can check it in your item library, there is 6 different gears for now. It's like a passive bonus while you equipped it.

Has anyone actually seen any equipment? Between my brother and i we opened 30+ and didnt see any equipment drops.

Ingame tooltip on a loading screen says you can only buy them with Mission Funds.

And those mission funds are earned in SP? We completed 2 bronze and a silver mp mission and didn't get any.

Pretty sure they'll pop up in the store after the game officially launches.

Apex Missions.

They're in the store right now in game, they showed up sometime yesterday afternoon/evening (maybe after that patch went live?). 


And for people not clear, you get the mission funds from Strike Team missions.  5 funds from the missions that you send AI out to do, 10 funds from the missions you can do yourself.  Seems to be about 8ish a day available, 3 player missions and 5-6 AI missions.  The Silver and Gold missions have pretty low chances of success for AI from the start, but during the Trial I was able to get my two AI teams up several levels and the Silvers chance for success went from 30 percent to 50 percent with just a few missions under their belts. 

Oh, I managed to totally misread the description on that, I thought it was like the Gear in ME3 that let you carry more ammo refill packs.  That's awesome.  Probably better be nerfed.

I've got enough for the thermal clip one now, but I'm going to get the juggy shield one first since it has melee damage as well, and melee has been treating me very well so far.  Hopefully have enough for that by tomorrow. 

Awesome? Better be nerfed? Am I missing something? You're never more than 3 seconds away from an ammo box and can refill at the push of a button 5 times a match. Why the heck would you take more ammo over any of the others? I mean I'll get it just for the full manifest but it's trash imo.

On nerfing, it's humor, it's a thing people use on the internet. 

And yeah, it is potentially awesome.  There were weapons in ME3MP that could burn out their ammo reserves mid-fight pretty easily (Harrier and Hurricane come to mind).  More ammo means not having to disengage or burn an ammo pack.  I'm assuming that consumables will be capped like they were in ME3, so maxxing out ammo packs and heals are a thing I'll want to do, so those slots in packs are instead dropping medi-gel and rockets, the consumables I use a bunch of. 

After sinking $400 into premium packs I have yet to pull 1 equipment item and I have 95% complete of all weapons and mods I'm just going to go out on a ledge here but I think these will be awarded as achievements or something .
