Yeah, we need this. Bad.
It's a mechanic that can give the combat more depth. I've tried issuing commands of strategic positioning and targeting, but it's hard to do when you have space dogs all up in your face, spraying space acid.
Also, there's no way to view the combat area in pause either. So, you never know if you're being flanked, unless you are actually being shot at.
In real life you can rely on peripheral vision and hearing. In video games, you need a radar or at the very least, a pausing command that lets you view the combat area.

Well to be fair in real life you also wouldn't able to pause time to issue commands to your team for strategic positioning.

I'm actually fine the way it is. Since you can mostly self-detonate all combos anyway if you make a good build, teammates aren't really necessary, other than for banter. Which is kind of how I like it anyway. I am the goddamn pathfinder. I don't need no help from these scrubs. Except Drack. Drack's awesome enough to help. Vetra too. And I kind of like Cora more then I would have thought. Peebee's actually pretty cute too. I'm sure the angara will be cool too. And liam has a comfy couch, so that's an automatic win.
I digress.
What I mean to say is. Meh.

yes, we need it, it's a core mechanic of Mass Effect sometimes just th attack order is not enough, we need that the squad mates use specific powers or weapons

I fee like this game is forcing me to play like ME3's multiplayer, which I loved, but probably because it was something different. How am I to use a sniper when I can't get my team-mates to keep enemies engaged and off me? How am I supposed to work the battlefield when I can't see the battlefield? It worked in multiplayer, because I was working with humans. With the AI, not so much. But I am new to it, so maybe this will change. Maybe.

Hang back/Rocket to high ground. When ordering them to attack (from what I experienced in the trial) they will use the appropriate power depending on their distance from the enemy. If the enemy couldn't be targeted with a power, they would run in close and try to melee.

Another feature that didn't hinder anyone's enjoyment, because those who didn't like it could just not use it. I greatly dislike the decision to remove it. Especially considering that buttons used for those commands are still there, and the pause menu is still there, it just doesn't do what it was able to.
