They clearly spent way more time and effort on Peebee's climax than on Addison's facial expressions.

I'm glad I never jumped too hard on the "it was Casey's fault" ship, in fact I defended him a lot because i know Mac Walters was the "lots of speculation" guy and the one who actually had to execute and write the ending whereas Casey was merely cutting down to bring forth more coherence in theme and tone. And really, Andromeda is the final nail in the coffin for Mac. He cannot be that high in the pecking order, he just can't. He was perfectly good at writing Miranda and Garrus and Wrex across ME1 and some of 2, but I've noticed too many signs in his dialogue, in interviews etc. of where his Mac Falters comes from. He cannot filter his ideas properly and as a creative director "filtering ideas" for the whole team is the core principle - He failed completely in this regard for Andromeda. It does not come to a comprehensive collective theme towards the endgame. All the branching aspects of the game from combat to loyalty, to squad-individuality, to the theme of colonization and theme of "exploring the unknown", it does not come to a greater whole where everything is bigger than the sum of its parts, and it's because Mac wasn't the leader the project needed and he is too much of a "yes man" to say "this is how we do it, but CUT that part out."

I still want Mac around in some capacity.

But I was skeptical of him being Lead Writer of ME3 and especially Creative Director of MEA.

He can't seem to control the series.

I think there's great ideas and characterization from him that I don't want gone, but I want better people to make the ideas work and characters more real. And especially, the single game feeling like a single, complete, game.

Well yeah...except they made them not hot.

Just because we are all prudish, and they do not want to shock us.

They wanted to up the ante from ME1 (see: Pretty Good Banging™) and they certainly did. I'm just glad there's no more "asari naked, human underwear" nonsense.
