I honestly in 9 games have never seen it, so frustrating UpUps recommendation didn't work I can't click on the rocket or scan it. DAI is linked in my profile so it can't be that either I wonder if you've already clicked on the rocket? It's right next to the Deluxe Edition/Preorder stuff, so I'm guessing you did it as soon as you boarded Tempest. Maybe, I tend to rush at the beginning however have just started again so will check when I get the Tempest.

Edit: Nvm, musst have clicked it, i have the codex entry. I blame my goldfish memory...

I don't have the deluxe edition and I've been able to click on the rocket every single playthrough... but only once each playthrough. After you click on it once, an entry regarding Spacex is entered in the codex under human space exploration history (or something like that). Anyway, I just confirmed yesterday that it is not the trigger for the cheese. I did a quick playthrough... main ops only, no additional scanning but I made it a point to click on the rocket. When I got to Journey to Meridian... no cheese, either before or after the mission. Unfortunately, I forgot to check again after The Way Home (and I've since deleted that save). Now, I'm wondering if it depends on more factors... like how much of the galaxy map you've scanned.

Maybe the cluster must be 100% scanned, otherwise? The second seems more likely. I'm pretty confident that you're correct in assuming that there are "hidden prequisites" for unlocking the cheese.

I just had a hilarious encounter with some outlaws on Kadara. The shuttle was just in the process of dropping them off and I decided I didn't want to stop to fight them so I just kept driving right under the shuttle... running into them while they were still in mid-air. Bodies flying and tumbling everywhere... I wish I could have grabbed a screenshot. The DMV really should revoke Sara's license.

I have the deluxe issue so its not that. I always have everything I possibly can done before going to Meridian, including the comets so I am not sure it's that. Has anyone seen it playing NG+, that was another thought as I have played the last 7 times on NG+? Maybe it really is random and I have just been unlucky.

Are we still talking about the cheese wheel in Civki?
Game 1 (NG, casual) - no cheese (didn't know the cheese was a thing) Game 2 (NG, normal) - no cheese (this is the game where I went back and scanned every single system and still didn't find it) Game 3 (NG+ of my Game 1 NG, hardcore) - found the cheese Game 4 (NG++, importing Game 3, insanity) - found the cheese Game 5 (NG, normal) - found the cheese
So, not based on NG/+ or difficulty. I have the deluxe edition, play on PC.
The only thing I can think of is maybe it was bugged initially and one of the patches fixed it? But if that's the case, it should show up in any NG started after that.

I enjoyed some Liam banter for the first time, today. Instead of immediately starting to bicker, he and Vetra joked a bit. He teased Vetra, asking her if she "misses her homeworld. Turia, isn't it?" She had a smartassed reply about earth being a dirt ball. Liam also warned Vetra that she was being investigated by Nexus Security, and had better move one of her drops. They spoke with obvious-oblique references, thus the humor. While running from the sanitizing cloud in Eos' vault, I here Liam yell, "I looked back! Why did I look back?" Lastly, I'm discovering that I like the Vanguard more than I thought I would. It is fun to be able to close on a target so quickly, as Charge allows. The melee damage is insane, and it simultaneously buffs shields due to passives. The loud shotgun fire isn't as annoying as I expected, likely because shooting is only one tool in the Vanguard toolbox. It's insanely OP, but it's not like this game was putting up a fight, anyway. EDIT: This is a poor way to describe it. It's extremely effective, but not OP. There are other builds that are likewise nearly invincible. ME is easy enough that a modicum of optimization destroys its "Insanity" difficulty. I might use this Vanguard loadout quite a bit more than expected during this PT. I think I'll also use some other Annihilation-based builds, as well as a combo caster build that PillarBiter mentioned recently. This PT will be all about trying builds I've never before used.

I honestly cannot think of any reason now why I have never been able to see it, have eliminated all the possibilities I can think of (don't tell the game I am just pretending to give up hope so that it then actually appears). Actually re the space X rocket theory, that may be correct as I am sure for the first time I actually clicked the damn thing today. I just got the Tempest and went straight to the cabin, whereas when I heard this theory from @upupaway95 (I think) it was late in the game and something maybe the Hamster Cage was partially in the way and may have caused the button to not be accessible. Anyway here's hoping!!!!

Do you have a save from just after returning to the ship from Khi Tasira (the first time)? It definitely doesn't show up before you land there but it does once you're back onboard.

Nah I think I have already deleted them. I think I asked before but does Suvi tell you there is an anomaly that you scan for or do you have to randomly scan for it or do you just have to see it? I have never had Suvi tell me there was an anomaly, I have scanned every time I go to Civki and I have never been able to just see it and not from lack of trying

It turns out that "Energy Drain-> Charge-> Hovering Hesh auto-fire" can reduce trios of Observers to scrap within seconds. It's not better than Tactical Cloak and/or Turbocharge, but it's just as good.

I have never had Suvi tell me there was an anomaly, I have scanned every time I go to Civki and I have never been able to just see it and not from lack of trying I can't recall. She doesn't always speak up right away, in general. I always do a quick scan reflexively upon entering a system. The space cheese is in the same system as Meridian, no? That system is "unscanned" the first time you get a look at it. If it's found on a return trip to Civki, there must be a reason for the return? Likely this would be some purpose that involves scanning for something else? I honestly can't recall not seeing that silly cheese. Opening the scanner for even a moment reveals its presence. I'm surprised how much discussion this silly cheese-wheel has inspired. It's a very underwhelming find. EDIT: I just remembered that Comet Jarovbees was in the system with Meridian (Saajor?); so I guess the cheese is in Civki. Re-EDIT: I just saw that melbella spelled this out, above. It's on the return trip to Khi Tasira that I always find it, I guess. Like I said, I always hit "scan" upon entering a system.

They do pop up as loot, now and then. Kinetic Coils can be purchased on the Citadel and on Aya. I always buy one on each stop. I can't recall if there's another vendor, at the moment. Once you get the FMoAdrenaline on Havarl, that cooldown time will essentially disappear. (I didn't realize it was so long, in the beginning.) I had Tactical Cloak (90%+ damage boost) and Turbocharge running continuously from Havarl onward. Once you start getting your passives fully evolved, that build becomes insane. (That's true of any good build, really, I guess.)

So, if you want to ever find the VHS anywhere, you'll have to craft the one first. Beware that the VHS reduces the clip size of the weapon by 60%... that can take a lot of the punch out of weapons like ARs that rely on quickly firing off a large clip to get their DPS up. Another alternative is to use the Bio Converter, which instead drains 5% of your health when it reloads a clip. Kinetic Coils are pretty common, so you can usually purchase them from the general merchant on the Nexus. There is also a merchant who sells augments in the Aya marketplace.

Bioconverter > everything else, in practice.

I think there are two fusion mods on Havarl... one for completing the vault and another in a secret chest that spawns (I believe) after you're allowed to put your science teams there. That one is the Fusion Mod of Adrenaline

For the Augments in the R&D menus, you have to craft the one available to you there before you can start finding them as loot from bodies or in containers. I like the VHS in theory (and in my first playthrough, what I used mostly), but the clip size reduction is too much of a nerf.
Bioconverter > everything else, in practice.
I hate the Bioconverter so much. It's completely illogical and brokenly good. It does more than double the DPS of several weapons, since it turns them into bullet-hoses. VHS is no trouble at all, if you're using it on a build with Turbocharge and the FMoAdrenaline. (Or with any build for which shooting is a secondary option.) Turbocharge "reloads" the weapon when used, and also extends the clip size. Still, it's entirely an RP option, for me. There is no shortage of ammo crates in this game. An extra Kinetic Coil (or the dreaded Bioconverter) are the obvious choice for optimization.

As I was preparing to save, I finally heard the sad turian's poem in The Vortex. He wrote a love poem about "the girl he left behind". He never told her he loved her. Poor dude, thinking about it 600+ years later.

I've never gotten anybody to do anything at the Vortex! The only stage action I get is Ryder waking up there after having too many experimental drinks.
