I know this applies to a small group of gamers but I think this topic may help.
Final Fantasy XV was a huge, fun, messy game that also had problems with its story. It also currently has a higher metacritic score. The game also had some pretty bad animations overall with the npcs, weird background music, and some pretty awful side quests. It had its fair share of cringe worthy moments and flaws.
For me and several other gamers, the game was still incredibly fun and one of my favorite games this generation because of the game's stronger elements. It was the final fantasy game that fans always wanted but at the same time fell short in many ways.
I feel like after watching some gameplay and reading reviews, Mass Effect Andromeda draws some parallels. I still think this game will hold its own magic in the Mass Effect Universe outdoing the previous games in so many ways. There are just notable flaws that, relative to each gamer, should not take away from how fun it is to play another Mass Effect game. Both FFXV and ME:A have gorgeous graphics, Vistas, and awesome combat with flawed facial animations, slightly jarring character development and possible inconsistent story pacing. (This statement is based on reviews that I have read)
That being said, If you played FFXV and had a blast, I think you will have the same fun experience with Mass Effect Andromeda.

I couldn't get past the voice acting in that game. It was laughably bad.

Its nice to know that FFXV was my first FF game and I really enjoyed it especially the combat system although my problem with FFXV was the story is missing and is being fixed via DLC I hope ME A is a complete story

I couldn't get past the voice acting in that game. It was laughably bad. I had heard talk of how bad the English cast was and I just shrugged it off as a typical JRPG dub (I play a hell of a lot of JRPGs and I can name 3 with what I find to have a tolerable English cast). I chose to play the game in Japanese because I'm more familiar with JP VA's and one of my favourites voices Ignis. I was living in ignorant bliss until I hit a glitched sidequest and went to watch a YT video for some help. That's when I got my first experience of the English cast. Wow. I didn't think you could get worse than Tidus in FFX. Yes you can. Yes you really can. How did they manage to find a Brit with the fakest English accent I have ever heard? and what on EARTH is Cindy supposed to be? Anyho, I enjoyed FFXV even though I was really rubbish at the combat. Popped the Platinum trophy for it last week after a disappointingly speedy takedown of adamantoise.

I couldn't get past the voice acting in that game. It was laughably bad. I was thinking more on the stiff facial animations and how they didn't acuurately convey the proper emotions. Mass Effect Andromde's facial animations/ lip syncing is ten times better. The voice acting was cringeworthy at times. Again I still loved the game overall and I think Mass Effect looks a lot better. The game definitely does not deserve a 6/10 that it got from some sites. That's lower than the last guardian which was a much smaller game with so many technical issues.

My love for FFXV is why I shrugged at the MEA reviews. It definitely has its flaws, but I enjoyed every moment...And looking forward to episode Gladiolus. Whoo hoo...Bring it on.

I made the comparison yesterday based off reviews. The thing is though I loved FFVII-VIII I found FFXV to be fun. But less of a FF game than even FF13. Its not unfair to say it is a fun game but its a FF in name only. Worse is I predicted both franchises were probably passed their used by dates before the BSN shut down. I finished FFXV and felt I'd been correct with that prediction. Its glory days are gone and now what we have is fun, time consuming, combat based team work in place of story progression and character development. This isn't a great sell from where I sit. I just wish the game was out here so I can go through all this and see how the game stacks up to what you're saying. I really hope you're wrong. Edit: lip syncing and VA were indeed terrible.

I liked FFXV, but I also found the game tedious to get through. It was gorgeous and the combat mechanics were very well done, but something about the game overall left me feeling like a lot was left off the table. Considering how long I've been playing FF games, and enjoying them, it was an odd feeling.
