Of all the weapons there are the fewest shotguns and most pack very little power (on gold). I have both the Hesh and the Scattershot at X and on Gold they feel like they just poke the enemy. My big question is...where is the Claymore and will they possibly add more shotguns?

On me3mp, a lot of the shotguns (even the reegar carbine and claymore) felt noticeably weak on gold if you didn't use decent consumables (eg level 2 or higher ammo), appropriate mods, and the correct spec on your characters (with a focus on maximising weapon damage through your passives and important skills like cloak, devastator mode etc). So, to unlock and maximise the potential of even the most overpowered of weapons, you have to know what you're doing. It's not complicated in any way, but it's often essential. Maybe this is also the case with andromeda? I have no idea, I'm just thinking out loud.

We definitely need to learn what's going on with armor and damage reduction in this game. If flat damage is being taken off of each pellet, for example, then one can easily see how shotguns might feel inadequate on Gold. Health targets definitely seem tougher relative to their equivalents from ME3.

Was never a fan of the justification for a weapon being bad "Well put top level mods and consumables on it and then get it to X and only shoot for headshots" etc.
Guns should work good enough, and that stuff should make them better.

Shotguns were as a whole some of the best weapons in ME3MP - Graal, GPS, Claymore, Reegar, Piranha, Raider, Wraith, Crusader, and Venom were all amazing weapons. Even the uncommon Eviscerator was still pretty solid. Honestly, I haven't shotguns much at all in MEA because rng has only given me the Katana X. But if they are weak, it feels like a reaction to just how strong they were as a class in ME3 (which, notably, had no damage dropoff at range). |

Sadly, the current iteration of MP lacks both the variety and potency of the shotguns of ME3 MP. I hope they bring back the Claymore or something similar or really any good shotgun. |
