Dragon Age News Thread

Oh, I can't take credit for the idea. I learned about it after interviewing people who actually did this in real life. At my current company, people get escorted out early if it's obvious they can't code... but tech interviews run 5-6 hours long, so "early" means "after 2 hours of snacks and a free lunch with the hiring manager".

I can only aspire to have that level of shamelessness.

Many of the fans, yes. But I think more key here are the devs. There were some comments here and there about Iron Bull, but for the most part the DA devs just have a different culture surrounding the romances. The ME devs played into the "pretty good banging" thing, and I just don't see the DA devs doing that. Frankly, I would be disappointed if they did. =/ Granted, they are allowed to have fun and joke around like anyone else, but that kind of thing just makes me feel like they don't take the characters seriously, or even understand how meaningful these relationships are to some players.

This reminds me of how badly I want to see "overplay" flirts. Nothing too sneaky, but maybe have some heavily signposted clingy/obsessed/creepy heart options that tank the romance instead of advancing it.

I've always felt the heart represents "the PC thinks this will come across as flirty" rather than "the LI will interpret this as flirty". While flirts sometimes don't land, to my knowledge they never hurt the PC's chances.
