That reminds me, there was talk back in early 2016 of a 2nd New IP coming from BioWare. It sounded like it was going to be an MMO or MMO-lite. Nothing since then though, so I wonder if it's still being worked on or was it quietly cancelled somewhere along the way...  |

That reminds me, there was talk back in early 2016 of a 2nd New IP coming from BioWare. It sounded like it was going to be an MMO or MMO-lite. Nothing since then though, so I wonder if it's still being worked on or was it quietly cancelled somewhere along the way... I thought of that as well. I still think they have something else because there were rumors of Austin doing something new. We probably assumed the MMO-lite was their work because of SWTOR. But I hope that it might be a new Star Wars RPG. It makes too much sense for it not to be so. But I'm cool if it's a new IP or something like that. |

Well, we know about ONE project. Projects, plural, feels me with hope. That reminds me, there was talk back in early 2016 of a 2nd New IP coming from BioWare. It sounded like it was going to be an MMO or MMO-lite. Nothing since then though, so I wonder if it's still being worked on or was it quietly cancelled somewhere along the way... Man, I hope not. Spreading themselves too thin would be an understatement at that point unless they greatly expand the size of the studio so more projects can be worked on simultaneously. They could get to the point where they have too much in development, leaving their fans with nothing to look forward to for years on end. As it is, many of their singleplayer fans feel they're being left behind with Anthem, as if Bioware is moving away from what they do best: strong story, strong characters, with roleplay for the PC. With the ME franchise shelved for the foreseeable future, with no hints of DLC for MEA, the only thing for Bioware SP fans to look forward to is the hypothetical Dragon Age 4. That hasn't even been confirmed to exist yet, and there is no release date or anything to point to and look toward with hope. It's really depressing and discouraging. |

But who knows for sure...  At the end of the day, I just hope they're given sufficient time & resources to really knock the next one of the park. With ME... we'll just have to wait for an official announcement one way or the other. However that plays out, I just hope it's on the sooner side, so at least people can move on... |

I don't think Bioware would be spreading itself too thin. Even after Montreal's downsizing they're still three studios large. About Anthem, perhaps it might be more akin to the games we love then we expected. Or, to Mass Effect at least (if it isn't one of the games you love  ). Nothing says it won't have strong story, strong character and roleplay for the PC. And Dragon Age 4 is as good as confirmed. They can't officially announce it yet due to a bunch of regulations and stuff, but it's pretty obvious. |

I feel like Mary has a history with giving away details she "shouldn't" in her tweets. Wasn't there something about some DAI DLC that she gave away early? Or maybe it was the LI information before launch? Can't decide whether its accidental or she's the officially designated "ooops" tweeter they tease information with. Now they're producing the content itself. I would imagine so. Though as I understand it, there's different kinds of writing at different stages of development. IIRC, certain things like text entries / descriptions are often left to late in development. And towards the end, if content needs to be cut or adjusted, that potentially involves re-writes as well.
