I think it depends on a person. Too much caffeine makes my temples pounding and certainly not in a mood for sleep - so I stick to tea. But that whole 'Solas dislikes caffeine because it makes it difficult to enter the Fade' also means that Solas should dislike chocolate Die monster! You don't belong in this world! Oh... is my mom a monster too? My approach is usually more... pragmatic - "Good, more for me!!"

Actually, I find that caffeine makes it quite a bit easier to enter the Fade. It's like a giant slingshot. Perhaps Solas and I will debate this point one day. I think it depends on a person. Too much caffeine makes my temples pounding and certainly not in a mood for sleep - so I stick to tea. But that whole 'Solas dislikes caffeine because it makes it difficult to enter the Fade' also means that Solas should dislike chocolate Oh, I enter the Fade with eyes Wide! Open! heheh. edit: but i mean..the g-force from the caffeine slingshot really doesn't leave me a choice...

You see, the Magisters weren't really trying to break into the Golden City. They just had a very robust cup of espresso... " Maker Dumat! Is that you?!?" Tch. /ot

Solas doesn't react to tea like he doesn't consume it because it causes issues with the Fade, or dreaming, as if it's merely inconvenient. A person might say, "I can't eat such-and-such because it gives me heartburn." Solas acts disgusted by tea, as if he can't stand the thought of drinking the actual beverage. To me, his reaction doesn't suggest it's merely about the Fade and dreaming.

He does state however that the in-game reason and that is that Solas avoids caffeine, because it makes it more difficult to enter the Fade. ...Which of course doesn't meant that he doesn't just dislike taste (which PW compares to dirty water), so that + caffeine makes it the worst thing ever for him.

Well, Solas has to have reason to drink tea and he does state that he's doing so to 'chase dreams off his mind' PW just made it clearer for everybody and revealed that caffeine apparently works the same way in Thedas as on Earth, heh. Anyway, I propose tea lovers send Mr. Weekes all the tea we think he could like ... Which I bet that some people are actually doing, lol.

May be he doesn't know how to make a good cup of tea. There is a theory over on this side of the big pond that no one on that side does. Not that I necessarily subscribe to the idea but you never know. Certainly there can be a vast difference in taste depending on the quality and blend of the tea, so perhaps the tea lovers should try and educate his pallet.

Meh, sometimes if someone doesn't like something, they just don't like something and if the tea indeed makes it more difficult for him to enter the Fade then he'd avoid it anyhow, unless it's needed like in case of helping his friend. My only other question would be - if he dislikes tea... how would he react to coffee?

Syd @houseofaustrich If somebody wanted to be a writer for Dragon Age (maybe lore/codex based?), how would they?
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes Wait until we have job openings and then apply. We don't usually just hire for codex stuff, though. Writing team handles that AND dialogue.

David Gaider has talked about reviewing submissions for new writers. That doesn't sound fun at all. Seems like a definite downside of being lead writer.

John Epler @eplerjc Gaming when you have kids basically becomes all about 'how much sleep am I willing to trade'.
You can absolutely keep up with the latest games! As long as you're willing to go to sleep at 1AM and be up five hours later.
seb hanlon 🔵🗣 @hanlsp I learned on DAI that if I get less than six hours of sleep I am guaranteed a shitty, shitty day at the absolute best.
So, uh. I don’t make that trade any more.

But...They all have British accents and are written by Canadians, which are still technically under the Queen. I even saw the signs last week, royal crowns all over them. So surely Theodosians have, at most, Canadian skills when it comes to tea, right? All in all, I'm just happy the scene happened because his disgusted look is amusing as heck.

Gods, no, a lot of Canadians at least here in the west seem to be using one specific blend of packaged tea, the Red Rose, and its terrible. Seems to be something their parents grew up with in like... WW2 or whatever. I love tea myself, but I drink it since childhood diluted by hot water to taste from the brewing pot where I steeped the leaves. I think most people who do not like tea never bother to adjust it, and just try maximum strength by throwing a bag into a mug or something.

Off topic tea discussion: Gods, no, a lot of Canadians at least here in the west seem to be using one specific blend of packaged tea, the Red Rose, and its terrible. The basic brown tea drank by my husband is not very sensitive. Hot water in a pot, thrown onto multiple bags in a jug. Add cold water to level. He never bothers removing the bags. Tastes like...tea. But other Teas have temperature limits. I've steeped a White far too long and it made it bitter. When I have HERBAL tea, I bring water to a boal. Add it to my cast iron ceramic tea pot. Wait a few moments. Then add the wire mesh with my goodies in it to the pot. As soon as the color pours strong, I remove the wire mesh for later for a possible second steeping. But these sorts of teas come from online or a Teavana store and are quite pricey. Smell divine, though. I've even enjoyed a herbal green mix<- the closest to true tea I've ever enjoyed. But yeah... most Americans go my husband's route, with the indestructible dirt in a bag tea they can do anything to.
