Honestly, I think I prefer to have NPCs mention your class (and specializations) more often than to see it on cinematic cutscenes. I'm hoping for the abolition of classes altogether, which will make this issue moot as a bonus. Skills ftw! Besides, the job does not my character make. Boy howdy, I couldn't agree more. It's very immersion breaking to see a cutscene with my character wielding the wrong weapon. It's even more immersion breaking when my custom armor is correct, but the weapon isn't?!? How can that even happen? Or worse, when the weapon is correct in some cutscenes, but not in others?!? I'd pay $20 extra to have all of those fixed in every game I play.

The only think I don't like about this is how heavy the MAge issue has been handled. It's a strong RP choice for a reason. It's the same reason I choose City Elf as my fave racial class. So by letting everyone pretty much be a mage it's like they get the magic without the Hate usually applied to those who have it. Or in the case of where we're going, where magic is wanted above all else, now everyone gets to be special?

Since mage-ness is so interwoven with the lore, and since mage was also conflated with a class, it would be hard to tease them apart. Not impossible, but hard. For example, suppose a certain wolf-friend accomplished certain reckless things partially, the side-effect of which is that now everyone can do a little magic. Trained mages can still do way more and with more power, but everyone can do a little. But even without that, a hybrid approach might work. You're either a mage or you are not -- totally consistent with lore. Then from there, you pick you skills. You could eschew all magic but healing and be an awesome tank, or you could go deep in magic and have few combat or thiefly skills.

You're either a mage or you are not -- totally consistent with lore. Then from there, you pick you skills. You could eschew all magic but healing and be an awesome tank, or you could go deep in magic and have few combat or thiefly skills. So basically like what TES did. Everybody is capable of some form of magic, but people either are not talented enough or simply choose not to train their magical skills. And the basis of class in ESO, for example, ain't ability to wield magic, but specific set of skills, which can be either stamina or magical based (in many cases we can choose morphs that base on one or another). The difference between them is mostly the element used or specific strength of a class, like healing skill tree or tree more focused on the offensive. Different weapons and different armors can be equipped by any class and they have their separate skill trees and sets of passives, so everybody can mix and match. Hence I can be a Sorcerer class, but be either a healer, a monster magica-based DPS, or a badass dual-wield/bow stam build or a tank.

Eh, the Wardens being male or female had nothing to do with that. But then, I don't think it has anything to do with brothels or the lack of them in the game either.

Hmm...what brought that on? It's from this post, which was a reply to Mike's thread on cutscenes...Michael LoCoco @michaellococowiDA4 will be horrible confirmed!!! Mike "Afraid"law @mike_LaidlawSee, this is just the kind of positive, uplifting comment I love to see in my timeline. Thanks, Michael. You're the LoCoco-est. - Michael LoCoco was only joking, but Mike didn't know that and called him out in a retweet. Mike had some other comments on this as well, but it was more about the specific incident.

He's talking about assumed intimacy, not criticism. Like if some random guy came up and kissed you, because they followed your blog/podcast/let's play and felt you were already friends. They might not have meant any harm, but it comes off very cloddish and presumptuous and lacking in healthy boundaries.
