Looks like Justice's mid-transformation of Ser Pounce-a-lot into Anders. (not many will get this)

I wish Inky could've questioned him on that... like all you get is a codex entry. It legit took me like a whole playthrough to even realize Solas was the one making the murals. I don't think I noticed them at all until after I finished the Winter Palace and Adamant. I thought they had just always been there/were appearing randomly. And I romanced the bastard.
Lavellan: Hey Solas, what's up with this artwork? I just saw it.
Solas: Oh, do you like them? They are -
Lavellan: Sort of meh, right? Like nice colors I guess but whew, kinda lame.
Solas: ...a completely anonymous addition. Really. I haven't the faintest idea who put them there.

Patrick Weekes @patrickweekesThat lore MUST be flexible enough to change based on what our folks in gameplay want to do game-to-game to make the best player experience, so I can give general info, but rarely a solid written in stone. That said, fire away. WOW!Can we pin this quote somewhere in the forum? I have a feeling it's going to come in handy for DA4. Like, once the Veil comes down but everyone still can't do magic, because gameplay. #PWSaysGameplayTrumpsLore

Kotaku @kotakuDragon Age fan's research leads to a theory about the upcoming game: bit.ly/2S3H3MS The downward pointing triangles symbolizing the Fade is a new one and seems plausible, so a nod for that. The rest seems a bit obvious.

Some ancient elves were canonically archers, so distinct classes can still exist in a Veilless world. I guess modern Thedosians might call them “mages”, but they’d probably be similar to Sera, working all their “magic” through fancy abilities that apply to their bows.

Also, there are rhombuses (so both downward and upward pointing triangles fused together) on some others:

Honestly, if everyone gets magic and warriors are replaced by knight enchanters and rogues are replaced by magic assassin's (see Dishonored), the balancing of classes would start making more sense.

That, or Tyrdda’s axe. Or Andruil using a bow. Or Temple oF Mythal elves using bows, blades or comically gigantic hammers.

Erm, I mean... Yeah, Dalish. Totally an archer. Dunno why everyone questions it. I'm thinking of trying to get one of those aiming crystals for Sera. I'm sure she'll love it.

Ben/Sox @sciaticnervous Does one of the writers come to you and say “here’s my idea for the general plot of the storyline” or do you give them a general story to tell and they create specifics and characters ect ect?
John Epler @eplerjc The story comes from @patrickweekes and his team. I can be involved, but ultimately I'm just another voice in the process - and once it's solidified, I can provide high-level notes, but it's still ultimately the writers.
That said - collaboration is how we get our best efforts. Trespasser was, at a high level, @patrickweekes and I working closely together and bouncing ideas off each other to come up with the main story arc - and then getting into fine details later on.
Or, to sum up - where the breakdown happens is an organic process. If I have something I'm really passionate about, I'll push a little harder - and vice versa. But Patrick is the Lead Writer and I defer to his expertise on writing.

It's been assumed to be so for so long on BSN it usually isn't even mentioned much anymore Huh, I originally had "new to me", but I guess I fudged it in edit. In any case, I meant new to me. Glad to hear BSN was already ahead of the lore game for that.

The lore junkies here have overanalyzed these things so much that many things touted as 'new' and 'shocking' around the wider community aren't so new or shocking anymore

please share your most embarrassing game dev crimes. Mine: all the scripting in Gone Home is contained in 2 gigantic uScript graphs, bc I didn't know about interlinking many smaller graphs at the time. Mine wasn't in release but I found a blocking bug in DAI conversation system. I needed a dummy line for Cullen that would NEVER ship. So for a week we had text to speech say "asdfasdf" in a key war table conversation for the very first line. [HASH]DAT

Part of a longer conversation...
Forficula @forficula13 I don't think John has toxic views, hes a nice guy. I just don't want quests to help people getting out of closet while the world is about to be destroyed, which was literally the entire questline for Dorian. And he was actually very cool companion.
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes My take, for what it's worth: loved Dorian's quest, but didn't love that some follower quests were full missions with combat, and some were just scenes (like Dorian's). John and I have talked about making sure follower plots feel exciting and adventurous.
(That said, we've been dealing with "world-ending threat put on hold for personal plots with minor stakes" forever (Grunt's rite of passage in ME2, Bastila's family in KotOR), so there will always be plots you wouldn't have time for if the game used real time.)
Forficula @forficula13 Okay that is true. Maybe a good mixture between combat and cutsceenes, cause cutsceenes are always great, especially if you get to make some choices.
John Epler @eplerjc A lot of it comes down to figuring out what works for each character - and then making sure it works with the main story. But it's a judgment call.
