I seriously tried to prime one with annihilation field with 50% range increase,comboed it and tried running back, only to get synckilled immediately without any indication of it about to happen.
I remember in ME3MP they had to melee before a sync was active

This happened to me about an hour ago. Was happily hacking away up on the roof, a fiend grabs me through the floor from the room below and kills me.

PSA he doesn't care about los he just has to be in your proximity. And proximity is relative, as his grab range is x3 longer than his arms.

I had a Fiend spawn behind me out in mid-air on a map. It spawned in with my back to it and insta-killed me.

Only thing I could say was...."well that just happened". Did not even have a chance to run or react.

Happened for the first time for me yesterday in my 10th kett game, and then again two waves later. The second time was more surprising than the first, being through a wall and by a teleporting fiend. Seems a bit too feisty for bronze, but hey that's okay. Love that munchy animation though.

At least the Ascendant has an animation for warping around, and gives a warning that he's starting a sync. This mf'er just walks around, then magically appears on top of you and bam - eaten. Lag-related probably, but still.
