At least the Ascendant has an animation for warping around, and gives a warning that he's starting a sync. This mf'er just walks around, then magically appears on top of you and bam - eaten. Lag-related probably, but still. And what's with cobras not always killing it. What the hell biower. He's impervoius as long as his shields are up. Kill the floaty ball to drop them. Using a cobra with his shields up will only kill the ball, not him.

Same with Hydras. Cobra is crap now. How the hell am I supposed to scorewhore on extraction wave, biower pls.

Me too, instamunched thru a wall while disabling a device on wave 6. Krogineer, we were the only 2 left alive at that point, saw and heard me laughing maniacally, started headbutting the fiend until it ate his face. F'ing hilarious. The Saikyo spirit is strong with you, BDaddy1968
Soon you will know the true meaning of punching nasty bosses in their ugly cheating cheater faces like a true disciple of the Strongest Style! And don't forget to taunt them first!

Died twice already (in maybe 6 games or so). First time was my fault, second time I didn't even now how it happened. It was in a room quite far away and suddenly I was in the bubble and dead. Not a fan. I had a Fiend spawn behind me out in mid-air on a map. It spawned in with my back to it and insta-killed me. Only thing I could say was...."well that just happened". Did not even have a chance to run or retreat. Yep, this seems to be how they do it. Spawn either right behind you or beneath you. You'd think something that big (Fiend) would at least make a noise before it reached up through the floor to sync you.

Praetorians were notorious for silently floating up behind you and grabbing you in ME3MP. But they rarely spawned on top of you unless your teammates were off nuking spawns on the other side of the map.

Gaming developers like to prove they can be A-holes on a pretty regular basis. One of the ways Bioware does this with mass effect 3 and unfortunately now also 4, are sync kills.
In ME3 you have many bosses and a mini boss(phantom). And what does bioware do with their infinite "wisdom"? They not only add a ridiculously overpowered and mega annoying(not fun, not challenging, just freeking annoying) boss move to the game, sync kills, but they give this idiotically overpowered move to ALL bosses in game except one...awesome. And now they seem to have added our much 'loved' sync kills right back into ME4, they just cant help themselves.
Another way they prove being A-holes, is the ultra annoying RNG BS involved in the pack system which I was hoping would be gone in ME4, so much for that. There should be merchant access of some type in multiplayer just as there is in single player, so we can actually buy the EXACT equipment or weapons we WANT instead of playing the idiotic spin the bottle/timesync crap-o-la feast that is the current piece of junk pack system. It also seems they got more into micro transaction BS in ME4 too, and why are items like the juggernaut shield and that holo blade melee enhancement disposable? What the hell..
Annoying things like sync kills are what devs do when they are too lazy and or goofy to think of anything less 'cheap arse'. There should at least be a way to mash some buttons, or do some quick time event to have a chance of breaking free, other then getting lucky that a teammate might possibly stagger the boss sync killing you. This has been mentioned on the ME3 forums, but of course bioware didnt listen. Maybe a teammate could run up and grab you and try to pull you out of the bosses grasp, and they would do the quick time event. Also as mentioned here, someone already talked about some of the bosses also having ridiculous ranges on their cheap arse sync kill moves, as if its magnetic hands happening all over again only worse because evidently it was intentionally made this way this time, despite ALL of the complaints about it!?!...GG devs, another big ol' helping of craptastic!
Yet another way bioware likes to be A-holes in ME4, is instead of krogans sounding like...you know...KROGANS, they now seem to have wimpy sounding human voices. Im not talking about the female krogan you meet in the single player, she is ok. Im talking in multiplayer the male krogan vanguard and especially the male krogan engineer...who almost sounds like a damn teenage kid or something last time I played him...what the actual hell.
And now our cobra missiles have been wimpOfied so they dont always pack enough punch to kill what you are shooting with them...wow, really? So our emergency oh crap button, kind of sucks now. Again, awesome!
The good thing is the gameplay(minus cheap arse sync kills), graphics, world design of both single and multi in ME4 I think are pretty darn good. Jetpacks also add an entirely new dimension to the game that is pretty fun. Plenty of times on ME3 I wished I had a jetpack to explore other parts of the map, now we can in Andromeda. Also we still have good old ME3 multiplayer with its AWESOME sounding/playing krogans, awesome and sometimes funny sounding enemies when you destroy them(cerberus anyone?) heavy melee(epic krogan B slap FTW), and REAL un-nerfed cobra missiles that are actually as powerful as they should be for a o crap button type of item etc etc.
Rant over, let the fanbois flaming begin.

Sorry trying to condense my ranting wall of text a bit hehe I also forgot to mention that I cant seem to host any MP games, no matter if its set to random or a specific mission to get mission funds. The matchmaking just never works when I try to host for some reason, and Ive read others are having the same issue. I contacted support and they gave me some tests to do to check my connection to try and figure it out. Everything works great though if I just join a game, and runs fantastic 90% of the time. Once in a while I will join a host and there is some lag, but that could be maybe they have a weaker connection and or a far location from me etc etc. But every time I try to host anything in ME4 the matchmaking doesnt seem to work, at all. But I can host just fine on ME3 and have for years on the same exact PC/connection. I cant understand how this wasnt tested better, one of the main ways to get mission funds seems to be in doing the custom multiplayer missions yet the matchmaking system is janky? O.o

Well Krogan Engineer is actually a female.
(TRIGGER WARNING: 'female' can be used as a noun. Fuck guess I should have put this first. Oh well.)
What's even better, on PC if you have rebound your control keys, you cannot break free of dogs/robots grabs. It will tell you onscreen in big bright red fucking letters: Mash BLANK FUCKING BUTTON ID to Escape! Of course, you CAN'T escape, so 10 seconds later you have been shot dead by everything else in a half-mile radius, effectively turning those mook grabs into goddamn sync kills.

Of course, you CAN'T escape, so 10 seconds later you have been shot dead by everything else in a half-mile radius, effectively turning those mook grabs into goddamn sync kills. Wait, seriously? Holy Bleeeping fuzznuts batman. That needs fixing asap. I know sometimes spawning in, that well, you can get them locked onto you and it auto-unhooks them when you load in. But I wish there was an option to set or aim for in boxes by rarity for what you want. (Take some of the randomness out. I never got my geth juggie in me3..) So say, if you wanted mods, if you didn't get it out of the pack, you got a special credit type, x number of credits, you can turn it in for a dedicated what you want. Higher rarities take more of the particular. So if you wanted say a pistol, and got ammo+shotguns, you would get a credit. I guess to prevent bronze quickie farming, to have each tier reward the respective bit. So bronze could give you a bronze thing, like a character card, or a pistol. The silver you set for sniper, and the gold is set for say, a shotgun. Each pack offers a chance for progression more refined than what you normally get. You'd likely need to pay for that, but at a far discounted rate. I had a fiend flying macho man randy savage me today a few times. And yeesh, with some map designs, and how big that range is, the fiends just plain unfun if the game tries to spawn it near you.. Heck, most of the kett are compared to playing a remnant or outlaw faction. (And outlaw can be bullet spongy compared to remnant on higher difficulties.) So welcome now the fun of Gold Ice Base Remnant, because really, its size and roofs let you funnel the machines down the drain.

I got sync killed and next wave spawned under stage, I almost didn't make extraction. Had to run off the stage in order to be dropped back in. He snatched me out of the air mid dash it was rough.

This also How during any testing was there never a rebind on the interact key? I hate the initial setup and don't really want to have to reach for the damned 123 keys for powers so I rebind to Q,E. and mouse button 2. Then I look and see that E was interact and rebind it to mouse button 1. It works for every thing else why not on doggies. Needs a fix asap, just like the latest patch fixed a crash that would happen when a player was Human Male Soldier and pressed the F key. Stuff like this shouldn't get through QA

I think sync kills would be perfectly acceptable if they required the boss to successfully hit you with a regular melee attack before the sync could be initiated.

I actually saw a fiend teleport about twenty metres to a teammate yesterday. Don't know if that was the way they designed it or not, but it shimmered as if it was cloaking and uncloaking.

I had him in a game or two with female krogans the size difference is very noticeable. As far as not being able to break free when those damn alien dog things chomp down on ya? I had the same issue, but I fixed it! I use my space bar for my use key, and somehow I accidently had it also bound to another key setting. ME4 will actually let you bind a key to two different settings, which is nice for sprint and mantle to be the same key. But for use, be sure and ONLY have one key bound for use, and dont bind that key for anything else. I had to reset my keys to default then set them again how I want just to figure it all out. Its nice being able to break free quickly from those damn things now hehe, hope this helps you too. Now if I can just figure out why my ME4 keeps randomly crashing on multiplayer, I run tons of games and none do that.

So what's the standard button to get free from enemy grabs? I need to remember that, when I get MEA soon. It should be your E key, for the "use" function, as default settings. Just be sure not to bind the E key for anything else, or if you rebind it dont bind that key to any other key setting, as you can actually bind one key on your keyboard to two different key settings, and that will mess ya up for the break free thing. Good luck.

Bad thing is it crashes almost always at wave 6 or 7, right in the middle of a lot of action, really pissing me the hell off. Also, I seem to have to make a new password every damn time I log in here, even though Im entering the correct password, waat daa faaak.

Yup. This guy found a solution, though. Can confirm that it works: I found a solution for the issue if you remapped your use key, I quote myself : 1/ Go to My Documents\Bioware\Mass Effect Andromeda\save\ 2/ open ProfOpts_profile with a text editor (notepad) 3/ look for the line GstKeyBinding.Keybindings.Concept_Interact.2.button 33 (the last number is the key you remapped "use" to, in my case the F key, 33) 4/ now look for the line GstKeyBinding.Keybindings.Concept_ButtonMashActive.1.button 255 Replace 255 (or the last number, whatever it is) with the number you remapped your "use" key to. In my case, this looks like this now : GstKeyBinding.Keybindings.Concept_ButtonMashActive.1.button 33 5/ Enjoy, now everything is back to normal you can once again play the QTEs with the key of your choice and not die because a stupid dog bit you.

At least the Ascendant has an animation for warping around, and gives a warning that he's starting a sync. This mf'er just walks around, then magically appears on top of you and bam - eaten. Lag-related probably, but still. And what's with cobras not always killing it. What the hell biower. You're wrong, Cobras are designed to instantly kill any enemy. We have extensively tested them on bronze difficulty.

As shitty as sync kills are, I would say they've been toned down quite a bit for MEA. Only the Fiend and Ascendant even have sync kills to start with; the Hydra's "sync-attack" does a ton of damage but will only down you instead of kill you outright.
Also, the Hydra and Ascendant have distinct animations for their syncs, the only one I haven't figured out yet is the Fiend. I'm quite comfortable getting into melee range of every enemy except for the Fiend right now.

Well I can confirm this works. You can even set it to your Melee button instead of Interact button. Just search for the string: 0 GstKeyBinding.Keybindings.Concept_Melee.1.button 48 (LEAVE THE 0 ALONE IN NOTEPAD IT IS ALL ON THE SAME LINE BUT WHEN I COPYPASTE IT HERE IT GOES ON A SEPARATE LINE SO THERE IS DEFINITELY SOME WEIRD SPACE MAGIC GOING ON WITH THAT 0 AND IF YOU TOUCH IT I CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT YOU CAN UNTOUCH IT) In this example, 48 is my B Key for Melee. So don't search for the 48, that number will be whatever you use for Melee. Then put that number into GstKeyBinding.Keybindings.Concept_ButtonMashActive.1.button 255 instead of the 255 Now watch my Interact button be broken LOL

Lag-related probably, but still. And what's with cobras not always killing it. What the hell biower. You're wrong, Cobras are designed to instantly kill any enemy. We have extensively tested them on bronze difficulty. Actually Ive also found that the cobras do not always kill bosses. Im not talking that floating boss with the shield either, if I recall its those big robots. I remember a few times nuking them and it didnt fully kill them, did nice damage, but didnt completely take them out. That was just on bronze, it will only get worst for higher difficulties unless the cobra damage scales with extraction difficulty, which I doubt it does. Also thanks everyone for all the good info, it seems my 'break free' key setting is messed up again so I might try going into those files as suggested above on this post for a better fix. In the mean time....Bioware, FIX YOUR SH!T FFS...we shouldnt have to go into the damn game files just to get the key settings to work correctly...
