I really enjoyed my recent Rift Mage play through. I used Starflorge's Infinite Mana Rift Mage build for most of the play through. A few times I respec'd to a flame array/chilling array just to power through difficult content, but for the most part it was really exciting.
Mana problems with the shock/weakened bug are trivialized with Trespasser new toggles on Fade Step IMHO. Couple that with armor sigil that gives you double mana and you're set to go.

So one of the shock spells, followed by either the upgraded Veil strike / Pull of the Abyss /Stonefist? ( Good to know. )

Weakened then Shocked, that's how Sleep is caused. No, sorry, it's the other way. From the GUIDE: Sleep
Triggers: Shocked + Weakness (Weakness must be applied on top of Shocked) Ah, sorry. It's been a while since I've played and I never used Lightning with Rift Mages personally.

I do remember someone saying on BSN that they only got the 'no weakness' bug with the upgraded veilstrike, and not the other RM abilities. No idea if that's true or not.

Yeah, I am curious myself. I started the quest "Way of the Rift Mage" last night, so once I have made my Inquisitor a Rift Mage, and have Veil Strike plus it upgrade, then I am going to see if it works. ( The way PapaCharlie9 mentions. )

( The way PapaCharlie9 mentions. ) You should see something similar to what Starflorge shows in his Rift Mage video. After using a shocking ability, use Tactical to confirm which enemies are Shocked. Then cast a weakening spell. then check again. You'll see some are asleep. Watch 8:09 to 8:27 and 8:50 to 8:55 on this vid:
