I'd like to know that before building deeper into that, cause God knows I'll miss that if it's not in MEA.

No, I am 99% sure there is no time dilation effects in MEA. I will say though Tactical cloak looks extremely powerful at the moment in terms of increasing your dps (big damage boost, low cooldown) as well as protecting you in a tight spot. I haven't really got that far yet but I suspect it will be nerfed in MPer at least.

No the infiltrator profile highlights targets behind cover now when using a scope.

Fully upgrade infiltration makes highest difficulty trivial.. with the final skill in the tree that eliminates the penalty to shield recharge / heatlh recharge, you can basically spam this skill as a defensive tool anytime your shields drop... wait a few seconds to recharge shields, line up a shot, fight for a few seconds.. then infiltrate again. Insanely effective, though it makes combat trivial.

Damn, I really missed that slo-mo for distance headshots. I'm not too far into the game yet, but perhaps there's a weapon mod that does the same thing. There was one in ME3's single player campaign.

I haven't found it so far, but I am used to it due to playing infiltrator a lot in MP.

I spotted a Concentration Mod in the single player. I haven't bought it though coz i'm used to ME3 sniping in Multi-player so i don't need it. But i'm assuming it gives slo-mo ability to help your aim.

Damn, I really missed that slo-mo for distance headshots. Same. I can't snipe otherwise. D: I've been using the sniper in the game though and it's not terrible though. I'm only on normal and while I'm not averaging perfect headshots like I used to, I'm still killing enemies so... yay?

What would you say are the best skills to pair with Tactical Cloak for a sniper?
Just looking at the skills it seems Barrier or the Omni-grenade are what might help from the combat tree, while most all the tech skills could have some application.
Would be interesting to try a shotgun infiltrator as well, are shotguns as powerful in this game as some would say?

Just looking at the skills it seems Barrier or the Omni-grenade are what might help from the combat tree, while most all the tech skills could have some application. Would be interesting to try a shotgun infiltrator as well, are shotguns as powerful in this game as some would say? Turbocharge! The third one is either overload or something biotic to help with shield/barrier/armor. Cloak, line up shot carefully in cloak, use a high damage low clip size sniper rifle or shotgun, then activate turbocharge and shoot away! With a clip expansion mod I can get 6 shot from a viper, or 4 shot from a devastating shotgun that has only 2 shots per clip. Bonus point if you upgrade tactical cloak in the <2 second remain in cloak after firing> branch at lv 6. So. much. burst damage. Extremely helpful to focus down single target. With the cloaked evasion profile I absolutely love using shotgun infiltrator. It is a high risk high reward play style, but extremely entertaining. I only carry a sniper rifle and a shotgun with me and it's either sniping from cloak or cloak, close up + shotgun to the face and cloaked evasion to safety. Really fun. Shotguns are powerful at point blank range, especially with the melee nerf(?). Theoretically they do the most amount of damage when fired, but it falls off quickly, quite unlike in ME 2&3 where you can essentially substitute your assault rifles with a shotgun for mid-range. Also I'm not sure if I did it wrong but melee animation is way too long and usually leave you exposed. You leave cover when melee, but shotgun can be fired from hip. Just for reference I'm on hardcore with aim assistance turned off.

Nope there's no slow-mo, also you can't really snipe as bullet drop is SEVERE at anything more than 200m, also at that distance, I've encountered a number of enemies who randomly despawn, more than once i've driven past enemies on the nomad, turned around, drive back towards them only to have them literally vanish right in front of me.

Sounds like being a sniper infiltrator isn't going to be any fun for me in this game. First bullet drop, now no time dilation? Thanks, Oba... Bioware!

I know its an old topic but on my 3rd playthrough now and I have to say not having time dilation or slo mo for sniper scopes is disappointing. I get they did away with this and the tactical pause because they wanted 'faster paced' game play. Despite their denials, I think they don't want to create separate game play for SP, just have SP & MP be the same because it cuts down on dev time.
Anyways my frustration is that enemies move and jump around with no concept of stamina in the game, so I have reached the point that I have to shock them with overload to get them to convulse and stand still enough for a head shot (or in some instances any kind of shot). Which is not ideal especially for enemies that have shields. So no slo-mo is fine on its own but with enemies running and jumping around like jack rabbits with infinite stamina it makes the sniper rifle pretty useless. As an infiltrator I do fine but I hardly use the rifle now which is a shame.

A sniper shoudl be for sniping. I.e. shooting unaware enemies from afar. A sniper should NOT be for every other combat situation.
So you having to cast overload for properly using a sniper for a combat scenario where enemies move (which is their creator-given, right, btw. I'm not gonna sit still either for some douchebag to pop my head...) is perfectly normal.
Well, either that or... L2P.

Finished Hardcore and Insanity playthroughs as Infiltrator and nope.
To be honest, I agree with Pillar. I carried an Isharay/Widow as soon as I could (switched back to Widow because dank dank Milky Way shtuffz), an M-7 Lancer and an M-5 Phalanx. You heard right, I carried a sniper rifle, an assault rifle and a sidearm on my Infiltrator.

I mostly shoot them when they pop their heads up to shoot me. Or I use hover to get a nice angle to shoot them despite them being in cover. Or I just shoot them through their cover.
Though I generally prefer to use the soldier profile for Widow/Isharay because the soldier can get an extra shot out of it, which is extremely handy.

I was already using VHS with my Widow, though, so I was going for raw damage rather than clip capacity. (And yes, they're clips.)

I'm doing just fine without slo-mo. The ability to see through objects is allowing me to line up good shots from a distance just as enemies start to stand behind cover. Right now, I'm carry two sniper rifles - a Valiant and a Raptor... switching to the Raptor for quick fire while moving to another location to commence sniping again. As the play likely picks up later in the game and I collect a better AR, I may switch it out... but right now, I'm quite happy with it.

L2P.I I clearly said that it was not an issue of movement, but an issue of infinite stamina. No one can move and jump around like that indefinitely. Learn to read. As for shooting from afar, the effective range of the weapon class is too short for that.
